I've been happy with the care provided to my mother during her time at Oaklands House. All staff have always been friendly, polite and caring. It is a beautiful home with efficient management. I would not hesitate to recommend it.

Have no problems at all with Oaklands House or its staff and facilities. My father has been there from January - September 2016 and it was trying hard to get even better. They looked after him in a very kind and caring manner throughout his stay.

When ever I arrive at the home I'm always greeted nicely, most time offered tea and improved how my husband has been doing. The staff are polite, if I've had a problem its been sorted out. On our 60th Wedding Anniversary the staff decorated his room. Made a cake for us and wine in a bucket, and brought
my husband a present to give me and a card. Even though he didn't understand this meant so much to me. The staff in turn came and congratulated us. What more could you ask for.

Byron Nadgie

Job Title: Home Manager

I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself, my name is Byron Nadgie and I am the manager at Oaklands House. I joined the Future Care Group because I passionately believe in their core values: Care, Comfort, Compassion and Credibility, which should always be at the centre of the way we work.


I started at Oaklands House 3 years ago, I have a wealth of knowledge and experience working within the care sector, having managed Nursing/Dementia and Residential homes, led management teams as a Regional and Managing Director, and finally became Head of Quality for the priory group south west and Wales, before moving to HC-0ne as a Quality Turnaround Lead Practitioner.


Starting out from the ground upwards, I first became a registered manager in 2002, and since then have enjoyed working within the care industry in management or senior management roles.


As a relative myself of a mum living in Nursing care, I strive to promote best practise, person-centred approaches and positive outcomes for all those who call Oaklands home.


I have a keen love of the outdoors, sitting in the sunshine and a passion for writing fantasy and fiction novels.


I look forward to meeting you personally, my door is always open, working with you to make a brighter future for your relative.

Hi, I’m Sally, the administration manager.


I’ve been with the company for two years after a complete career change of 16 years in retail. I joined The Future Care Group as an HCA then progressed to a senior and now I’m the administration manager, over my time with the company I have built up relationships with families over their loved ones and now I’m the contact for them as they contact the home. My role is fast-paced and each day is different.

Hello, I’m Martina, and I’d like to introduce myself. I’m a member of the Administration team, primarily stationed at our reception area. I’m typically the first point of contact when you visit Oaklands. I moved to the UK from Slovakia 16 years ago and joined Oaklands two and a half years ago as a night healthcare assistant. My passion for meeting new people and assisting families in maintaining their connections led me to make a career change and join the Administration team at Oaklands. I’m part of a three-person team under the leadership of Sally Ware.

We love to hear residents laugh and are proud of how, irrespective of disability, all of our residents join in. We use a person-centred approach to enable people to have moments of joy and meaning.

Job Title: Head of Catering

Joined: 1998

I'm Sarah, the Head of Catering! I have been at Oaklands for 21 years, where I actually started as a Carer. I often helped in the kitchen where I was mentored by the chef and began to learn about food preparation, diet and nutrition. I progressed to Chef and now Head Chef, and I am proud of my achievement and running our team.


We are always looking for ways to make food interesting, irrespective of dietary need. As a keen Baker I love to try out new recipes. I have a team of 5 chefs and kitchen assistants all of which are focused on providing a positive meal time experience.
