St Anne's Nursing Home

Mum has been warmly welcomed and is being well cared for since moving in to St Anne's. Shortly after moving in, Vita and the team found out that Mum and Dad would soon be celebrating their 64th wedding anniversary, and this weekend, they went above and beyond by organising and hosting a small party. The team provided decorations, sandwiches, cakes, tea, coffee, and a glass of bubbly, which were enjoyed by all. Thank you so much to everyone involved for welcoming us all and for caring for Mum.

My mum was recently accepted into St Anne's Nursing Home in Southampton. l have to say that the staff there are kind and treat her with dignity and respect; nothing is too much trouble. The daily activities are uplifting for the residents, and the staff are enthusiastic which helps encourage everyone to join in especially with the singing. The variety on the menu is impressive and Mum is eating well and has put on weight. The manager's regular presence is reassuring, and the fact that she speaks to each resident every day and checks their room to ensure it is clean, neat, and tidy is 100% what should happen; however, l have viewed many homes, and unfortunately this isn't always the case. The home is spotlessly clean throughout and somewhere you would be happy to spend time in.

Was very welcome when visiting my aunt. Vita was great with residence and invited involved me to. Was asked if I wanted a cup of tea by one of the carers. Aunt was happy and staff were very friendly to her. Went in dining room and was asked if I wanted another cuppa. All in all a great visit

Mum has had a difficult time and everyone at the home has been amazing and has made the transition into the home so easy. She is so settled and enjoying her time there. The staff are amazing and treat her so well I am so happy she is there I wouldn't have wanted her anywhere else. 5 Star Service and Care

Since my brother-in-law was admitted to St. Anne's, well over a year ago now, I have been really impressed not only with the care and attention he received, but also the friendliness of the Home and all the staff who work there. I have been visiting regularly, and each time whoever was on duty was friendly and welcoming, often knew my name, and made me feel at home in the lounge, join in the games, I came to the Summer Fete, etc.

More recently, as his condition deteriorated, the care he received was first class, nothing was too much trouble, a Dr. was called when necessary, and he was looked after in his room as we would have wanted if he had been at home, even a new mattress was provided for him once he was bed bound.

I would have no hesitation in recommending St. Anne's to anyone in the area looking for help, and I shall miss going there and meeting the staff there very much indeed.

St Anne's Nursing Home has huge potential and staff are welcoming and friendly. Domestic staff work extremely hard and carers generally respond quickly to any issues or requests. Two carers stand out in their service. The nursing care is excellent as too are the management staff who are responsive and receptive, and are excellent. I know, and am confident, that my husband will be safe and secure and well looked after when I have to leave him.

I chose St Anne's after visiting a few homes because my 92 year old Mum had a degenerative condition. She would need care until the end of her life. I didn't want her having to move as she deteriorated. She received kind and skilled care for the 3 years before she passed away peacefully. I was very involved with her care needs and I always felt listened to if I raised anything. The staff team were so caring and supportive of us both and we both made good relationships with each of them. They understood I only wanted the best for my Mum. It's stressful entrusting a loved one to others. I must have been a nuisance at times but I was made to feel a part of my Mum's care team and my input was appreciated. I would encourage anyone to visit. For me the the staff team, cleanliness and safety were the most essential aspects. St Anne's doesn't sit in acres of gardens and the rooms are modest but those features were far less important than the quality of care. Thank you St Anne's.

As a family, we cannot say how grateful we were for the loving care that was given to our mum everyone was so helpful and nothing was too much trouble when mum couldn't eat the mail that she was given because of her condition they went above and beyond to get her something else we were kept informed of her condition. I'm living away from Southampton. This was very much appreciated we could not thank all the staff from the cleaners carers nurses office staff and would not hesitate to recommend this care home to anyone who has to place a parent in a home

The facility gave a fantastic experience for my wife and me. The staff are extremely friendly and did all they could to give my wife a pleasant time during the difficult days she needed care. They were very attentive to her needs and allowed me to stay as long as I wanted whilst treating me as if I was their own patient too. Overall would highly recommend as one of the best nursing homes in Wales.

As a family our experience of St Anne's Nursing Home was very good. Every single member of staff we encountered from the first moment we walked in the door was kind, helpful and polite. My Dad was extremely well cared for during his time at St Anne's with all his care needs being met in a caring, professional manner along with him being treated with dignity and respect. The home is very clean which is a testament to how hard the cleaning staff constantly work. The nurses and carers were always on hand to give feedback and answer questions both in person and over the phone. The kindness and compassion Dad was shown in his final days and care given to us as a family was exemplary. We feel very blessed and take a great amount of comfort from knowing my Dad was being cared for in such a good nursing home in what we knew were going to be the last weeks of his life.

No proper assessments was done on although he is terminally ill. No care plan in place for the whole 4-6 weeks of him being there. No palliative care nurse had bothered to visit him and assess him in all the time that he was in there. It took her 4 weeks to sort out an assessment. I would have thought that it is a primary protocol as a palliative care nurse to assess a terminally ill patient/resident. We have asked on a number of occasions for them to organise a dentist referral as he has a broken tooth and nothing was ever done about it. We have spoken on many occasions to the various management members at the care home telling them that he needs assistance to get up or sit up properly when consuming food but every day that we visited he was laid in bed and he couldn't eat properly, his positioning was resulting in him choking on his food but also he was struggling to feed himself and no one at the care home was helping him. Never topping up jugs of water.

I was most impressed with St Anne's Care Home from the moment my father was transferred from hospital. Although he only spent the last five days of his life there, he receives the very best of care, St Anne's feels more like a hotel than than a nursing home. It was obvious to me that Dad was under constant monitoring and personal care, which made things all the more easy. I shall always be grateful to all the staff.

All the carers are friendly and good.

We would not hesitate to recommend St. Anne's to anyone who is considering a nursing home for the next stages of care for their loved ones.

Very happy with everything for mum although a coffee machine for visitors would be nice.

Very happy with the care home. Mum is well looked after, quality of care is good. Carers are very polite and able to cater to Mum's needs. She is very clean and laundry is done daily. Food is good and varied. Birthdays and celebrations are cheerful and celebrated. Mum is now settled and when upset staff are able to comfort her. Any problems or concerns are dealt with quickly by management. The new activity coordinator is brilliant and has made a big difference to the daily routine of the residents.

My husband has been a resident since January 2023. I didn't want to see him go to live in a nursing home, even though I knew it was in his best interests. I have not looked back. He gets on well with all the staff and he certainly gives them the runaround. The care shown not only to him but also myself by all staff is exemplary - nothing is too much trouble for them. If he asks/wants anything the staff always do their best to 'come up with the goods'. The welcoming is always warm and friendly. I would not hesitate in recommending St Anne's to anyone. This is by far the best place for him. Thank you.

My overall experience is very good. All staff are very helpful and friendly. My husband is quite settled there now and is reasonably happy. He gets on well with all the staff - he enjoys banter with them. The food has improved recently, and he enjoys most meals. If there are any problems with his well-being, there is always someone to talk to, and things get resolved. I would recommend this nursing home to family and friends.

My mother has been a resident for two years, and l can honestly say she is well looked after both physically and emotionally. l am sure she makes the staff at all levels earn their salaries as one would expect from a lady of a certain standing. What is reassuring is the number of staff who were there when my mother arrived is still there. Thank you!
