The Chase is a modern, spacious, purpose-built home located in the town of Watford in Hertfordshire. The home offers warm, personal and compassionate care to residents and is well known for its outdoor activities and encouragement in resident health and wellbeing. Offering Residential, Nursing, Respite, Dementia, Palliative and Specialist Care, The Chase is full of committed, compassionate and caring individuals with specialist knowledge to provide the very best care. The home also benefits from on-site physiotherapy facilities, supporting residents’ mobility and rehabilitation needs.

Centrally located within a walking distance from Cassiobury Park, The Chase is located close to local shops, a pharmacy and a doctor’s surgery. The home is well connected by public transport and close to major road routes such as the M25 and M1 motorways.

Daily, tailored activities are all a part of life at The Chase, with activities ranging from cinema evenings in the in-house cinema, musical bingo, pampering in the in-house hair salon to gardening and afternoon teas. The dedicated activities coordinator works round the clock to innovate and deliver outstanding activities for residents to enjoy, based on their individual interests and wishes.

The Chase is a spacious and varied home offering 110 bedrooms that are able to be personalised with residents' own treasured belongings and furnishings. Bedrooms are freshly and tastefully decorated and are ready-furnished for residents to make their own. The home also offers various communal spaces such as smaller dining rooms, group activity spaces, chatty living rooms and quieter seating areas across the home for those who enjoy their own company.

The Chase has an excellent management team and are committed to delivering excellent care for each and every individual. The home is also well regarded in the wider community as a result of community outreach projects and activities.

When first admitted for respite, everything was fine. Since then the home has had problems ie management staff leaving, deterioration of food, care, cleanliness etc.


With the new management, things have definitely improved for the better. However, the kitchen needs to be supervised ie menu etc, but

they're on the right track.

The team and I, at The Chase, continue to strive to achieve positive outcomes for all service users. We all acknowledge that a lot of changes have been implemented and it will take time for those changes to be embedded. We continue to work with families, friends and professionals to ensure care is delivered of a good standard. Recent visits from CCG and Local Authority identified improvement and so we are certainly on the right track, this was also shared during our relative's meeting that was held in August 2018.

In regards of the staying of my husband, I could say that I am, very pleased and amazed to the care and support that they are given. The management, I am happy the way they run the home. In the activities, I found it needs to be improved more for the state of the other residents.

My mother was very ill and very highly medicated when in her own home. Most of the time asleep and not eating much, only baby food. Now, totally different. Awake and talking, eating well. Feeding herself. Low level of medication when needed.

I am quite happy with the care and help and also the nurses. They check the room and tidy the room. Also they shampoo the room. For meal times I order the meals. They give me meals that I like. They are giving choice to me.

I only visit on Sundays but the ward always seems clean and warm. The staff treat the residents with patience and respect. I am unclear to what extent activities are put on or not during the week as my aunt would not participate. It would perhaps be nice to see more books and magazines. Overall though
I think the ward seems well run and clean, and patients seem well looked after.

Over the past year, things have definitely improved at The Chase Care Centre. The staff on mum's unit are lovely, chatty and kind. Mum is always dressed with care and dignity.


The only downside is the lack of outings suitable for her.
