Erskine Hall Care Home

The food is excellent.

My mother was discharged from hospital after a serious infection with little long-term prospects. The round the clock assiduous care of the whole Erskine team has put her back on her feet in a way that we could never have thought possible. The personalised approach was exceptional.

I find the care all satisfactory and the Carers helpful. The activities are all enjoyed and they try very hard to please everyone. By and large, the home is comfortable and very clean.

Clean, tidy, friendly efficient and non-smelly. Helpful nursing and caring staff. My father says he likes the staff as they nurse him well and are friendly.

Very good. The service is wonderful. Every day you can have a shower so you feel nice and fresh. There's always some entertainment going on which you're encouraged to join in, also the food is excellent.

My mother has been in care here for several years now. Throughout her stay, we have found the staff very professional and attentive. Without their care and attention, she would probably not be around now. The home is always extremely clean and well run. As a family, we have always found everyone very friendly and helpful and would recommend Erskine Hall.

Whilst he was at Erskine Hall he was looked after well and the manager was very personable and friendly, all staff were helpful and he was treated very well.

Moved from hospital to this care home in November 2017 suffering from rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, anaemia and type 2 diabetes. Following an outpatient visit to the rheumatology department at the hospital, I was put on medication and this has eased the arthritic problems, enabling me to need less support from the staff. I now am able to move around fairly freely using walking poles or my zimmer frame and eat all meals in the restaurant. I am hoping to move to a flat as my mobility increases.

The staff are very very caring and the nurses too. Everyone friendly and it's a happy atmosphere.

We are very impressed with the care and comfort given to residents in this 'care home'. My sister was looked after well. She had a lovely room looking over the gardens and was able to get out into the grounds in her wheelchair when the weather made it possible. The staff are very friendly. Plenty of activities for the residents if they wish and visitors were made very welcome.

Have to wait sometimes for prolonged periods of time for assistance to go to the toilet and then return to the chair. This takes two carers and a hoist if someone is in a wheelchair like my mum (lack of staff)?

I am very happy with the care that my husband is receiving. He has been here for nearly 3 months for palliative care. I visit most days and I am allowed to come and go as I please. The staff all know and address me by name which I think is a good indication of how good the staff are. The home is spotlessly clean. Rooms are en-suite. Beds are adjustable, without looking like a hospital.

A wonderful venue for last few days of life. All who family and friends came into contact with are very caring and professional. A great comfort to us all. Care and attention to our relative were faultless.

Good experience (for 1 week). All staff are pleasant, kind and professional. Neat and clean room. Good food. My needs were met.

However, there was nobody to speak to at the dinner table, so decided to eat in my room for the rest of my stay. Felt the staff were alright, but it would have been nice to have more company during my time there, especially at the dinner table.

Our main concern was the locum from their GP surgery who attended to certify my husbands passing became unavailable and we had extreme difficulty in obtaining certificate required to register his death. After two days we had to contact the hospital from where he had been transferred to Erskine Hall, where a consultant who had cared for him was able to issue a certificate.

My husband has no speech and therefore cannot say what he feels. I felt he was too challenging for the staff and they did not care enough to make him happy. They did mostly what I asked but it took tremendous effort and anxiety on my part. He would not return and it has put him off going to a home again.

I have been cared for very well. The care staff work very hard to make my stay good. The food is very good and there is a nice variety of meals. I also enjoyed the activities. Previous visits have been good and I will be returning again.

Our daughter was admitted into Erskine Hall in May 2016 and died in January 2017. Due to a brain and liver cancer, she was unable to look after herself and needed 24/7 care. We stayed for 2-3 days every week. Throughout her stay, our daughter (and us!!) were cared for fastidiously and lovingly by a most caring and dedicated staff, including carers and auxiliary support.

We were deeply moved and encouraged by the way all the staff constantly attended our daughter's needs (which were varied and many!). Because radiotherapy had seriously impaired her short-term memory, she was frequently emotionally upset and we were often witnessed to the quiet presence of staff who quietly sat by her and soothed her fears! We have nothing but admiration and gratitude for all the love and professional support our daughter received from the staff of Erskine Hall!
