Premier Court is set in a very peaceful countryside location within Bishop’s Stortford. It provides a full range of residential and nursing care.

They’re here when you and your loved ones need them most. For planned respite or last- minute trips. A safe space to recover after an operation. To experience what their home’s like before moving long- term. To just relax. Whatever the reason, their doors are open.

A modern, purpose-built home, Premier Court has comfortable ensuite single bedrooms and attractive décor. The home features well-furnished lounge areas where residents can relax and socialise, there is also an onsite hair salon and the homes very own tea room for all to enjoy.

The home benefits from lots of outside space with courtyard gardens for family and friends to use whenever they come to visit. The home is also wheelchair accessible throughout.

Enjoying food is an important part of life. The chefs create well-crafted menus made with the freshest ingredients. Soon after a resident arrives at the home, staff discuss their personal preferences and dietary needs with them.

There’s a real sense of community at Premier Court. The staff work to discover what residents enjoy doing and the home's social calendar is organised around those interests. So whether loved ones already have a hobby or would like to take up a new one, there are lots of exciting activities to get involved in.

The activities calendar includes arts and crafts, music, flower arranging and gardening. Visiting entertainers often perform, and residents can enjoy outings to garden centres, shopping trips or places of interest.

Very nice room, good food, plenty of activities during the week (am and pm). Well cared for but have a problem getting them to put her in a certain 'chair', changing her four times a day (as at home) and getting her to drink plenty of water. She has been coming here for two weeks every two months for
about two years now and I think they are finally getting the above message. I would recommend these premises and will continue to come here for as long as possible.

My Mum was a resident at Premier Court for the last few days of her life. The staff should be congratulated as they have created a team that that has a real family feel about it. They not only treated my Mum with care and dignity but also the whole family who were made so welcome when we visited - nothing
was too much trouble.
It was so comforting to know that Mum was well cared for and was happy in her last days and for her to pass away in a place that felt like our own home is a feeling that one can not describe.
Myself my wife and all the family's heartfelt thanks to you all for all the care and compassion you shared with Mum.

Care and consideration given to my mother during her last days was excellent. The team had looked after her in her last hours cannot receive enough praise. The person in charge needs special thanks. He looked after my father and I on our arrival and visited us frequently and made my mother comfortable.
Three members of staff were with us when I pressed the emergency button and all were kind and sympathetic towards us. My father is 92 and was married to my mother for 68 years so the kindness towards us was much appreciated.

My dad was a resident at Premier Court for the last two months of his life. He was well cared for. I was anxious for him to be comfortable particularly at the end. The hospice nurse and Premier Court nurses and GP worked together to ensure everything was in place for him when it was needed. He was
able to stay at Premier Court right to the end which was perfect he died comfortable and in peace.

For me, the daughter, it seemed the nicest place for my mum to go to whilst we went away. It was a very friendly, happy, clean home. I would not hesitate to recommend this home or to bring mum here again.

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.763)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.763) out of 10 for Premier Court Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 27 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 27 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.763 for Premier Court Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (254 Excellents x 5) + (58 Goods x 4) + (9 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 321 Ratings = 4.763
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Premier Court Care Home is based on 27 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 59 registered maximum number of service users is 11.8, which has been reached with 27 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
