Westgate House Care Centre

My stay was very pleasant. The staff were very attentive and helped with all aspects of my care. The physiotherapy people were very helpful and pleasant and assisted me with my rehabilitation.

The care, respect and efficiency shown to mum and all who visited her was second to none, absolutely 1st class from when you first enter the building. We were made to feel so welcome and mum was very happy at Westgate. Sadly mum passed away and the respect and dignity given to her after her passing was again 1st class. We also were treated in the same manner by all the staff and we cannot speak highly enough of Westgate. Thank you.

From the moment we arrived at this property to initially view the facilities we had a very, very good feeling. We met with the manager for our initial meeting to view the facilities, who showed us around and was very helpful and very pleasant. We were actually advised by the manager after our viewing, to have "a think about it and definitely look at other properties" but we knew instantly this was the right place for my mum. On arrival with my mother a week later, we received a warm and very helpful greeting from all staff we met. It was actually the manager's day off but she came in to make sure we were Ok. My mother was instantly offered tea and biscuits and was shown to her spotless large room, amazing. We have obviously since made regular visits to see my mum and each time we have received a friendly and welcoming greeting from all staff we meet. The property is spotless and odour free (unlike the last care home!) My mother is very, very happy and so are we.

I found the staff very caring and helpful. They seem to know if you had a problem and they would help you. I thought of them as friends I could talk too. If I had to go to a care home again it would be here.

From the time I first arrived at Westgate House Care Centre, I have experienced nothing but kindness, consideration and encouragement for my whole wellbeing from all the staff whatever their responsibility was.

I was very comfortable during my stay. The staff were brilliant in all they did for me. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Breakfast club is a good idea to meet other clients. Excercise session kept us all moving. I will miss you all.

I have been looked after from the moment I arrived. The staff here is very considerate and exercises are very beneficial. I can move better and walk with a frame for quite a long distance.

I thank every member of staff for their help with my road to recovery.

Daytime staff are very kind and helpful. First few days I wasn't myself and staff looked after me appropriately but as I have got stronger they have supported me very well. Thank you, everyone.

Well looked after. Staff genuinely helpful and friendly. Facilities were well thought out including the accommodation rooms. Overall excellent.

Overall I feel I was cared for very well. The nurses and physios regularly checked on me and I never felt like I was ever on my own.

When my mum came to Westgate House, myself, my husband and my sister came to visit her. We all said what a lovely, friendly, clean, happy environment it was. Lovely rooms, lovely food, excellent treatment from staff, everybody works so hard. There was a singer just before Xmas and children singing and party food, it really is a lovely place to be taken care of.

During my three week stay, I was impressed and delighted with the professional care and kindness I received throughout. The encouragement to become independent and to regain as much as possible of my mobility contributed enormously to my continuing recovery. My replacement knee was checked frequently and my general wellbeing was treated as equally important. The social interaction with fellow residents was always friendly. I shall really miss their company with its sympathy and humour but I am ready to move on.

My mother spent 3/4 weeks at Westgate on the rehab floor, the help and motivation my mother got whilst there was wonderful. All staff be it management or carers were delightful, cooperative, understanding. Being a carer in the community and working in a care home myself, I would like to say this is one of the best places I've been in.
