Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.754) out of 10 for Ashley Gardens Care Centre is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 28 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 28 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.754 for Ashley Gardens Care Centre is calculated as follows: ( (255 Excellents x 5) + (60 Goods x 4) + (10 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 325 Ratings = 4.754
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Ashley Gardens Care Centre is based on 28 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 89 registered maximum number of service users is 17.8, which has been reached with 28 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Corina Fierbinteanu

Job Title: Home Manager Joined: 2022

I am a passionate nurse and a leader dedicated to delivering excellent care to our residents through a well-supported and skilled team. My role as Home Manager is to support the team in providing person-centred care and to ensure that our residents feel safe and comfortable in their homes.

I have been a Registered Nurse since 2008 and have over 9 years of experience working in the care home environment, including more than 5 years as Deputy Manager.

My team and I look forward to welcoming you to Ashley Gardens, and you can see our passion to ensure our residents receive a high standard of care and, as a team, we strive to achieve our best.

“Ashley Gardens is a busy home and the pace of work here is fast which I enjoy. I previously worked in a children’s residential centre and am loving working with older people, having regular interaction with our residents and hearing their stories – there is always something going on.”

Wesley

Wesley Brooks

Job Title: Kitchen Manager Joined: 2016

Prior to joining Healthcare Homes in 2016, Wesley was a head chef.

He believes you need to be a good communicator, be part of a team, lead by example and be personally driven to succeed in your role.

The favourite part of his working day is when at the end of the day you can be proud of what you have achieved as a team. To recognise individual performances and give praise.

His biggest professional challenge in his career to date was taking over a restaurant which was poorly performing. Customer satisfaction was low and sales decreased along with targets and budgets not being met. Within 12 months sales increased with customer returns continuing to grow. Budgets and targets were being hit and audits were above 95%. Wesley's biggest career highlight to date was being promoted to a flagship restaurant which had yearly sales of £400,000

What qualities do you think make a good home manager?

Wesley enjoys spending a lot of time with his children who always brighten up his day; time at the park and doing activities with them. He also enjoys watching most sports.

His ambition is to become more senior within the Healthcare Homes Group. To oversee the kitchens within and to have an active part in achieving great standards and quality presented food for all our resident's needs.

Job Title: Receptionist

“I’ve worked at Ashley Gardens since 2014 and love it here. I was a carer and have recently taken the role of receptionist so I am one of the first people you will see when arriving at the home. I already know many of the residents well and am enjoying getting to know the relatives, friends and family who come to our home."
