My brother was fast-tracked to Elvy Court in February of this year as his care needs had changed, it was traumatic for him and for us as a family as he had been at his previous residential home for over 25 years! The team at Elvy Court helped him settle in fast and made him feel welcomed. As a family, we would like to say a big thank you to everyone who works there as the level of care that my brother is now receiving is remarkable.

Thank you so much for your review, it is our absolute pleasure to care for your brother, we are so glad that he has settled well at Elvy and that the family feel supported too. I will pass your comments onto our care team.

My overall experience of Elvy Court is very good. All the staff from nursers, receptions, carers, kitchen staff and housekeepers are very helpful.
Unfortunately my husband is bed-bound so cannot take part in most activities.

Also the food looks excellent but he doesn't eat solid food. The only difficulty I have is the parking which I know can't be helped but as I have mobility issues is a problem.

My sister has now resided at Elvy Court for 18 months having spent most of her life in various homes. It varying quality! Since she has been at Elvy Court, we have relaxed more over her care, we are very satisfied with everything the staff and management do for and with her. She is happy and well looked after.

The staff are friendly from the reception team to the nursing staff. My only complaint is there are not enough activities for people who are bedbound as all the activities are either in the communal room or dining room.

Thank you for your kind review we are glad Mum has settled well at Elvy Court. Our activities team do conduct daily room visit for those who are bed bound however we have taken previous comments on board as we do understand that in order to give more time to those in their rooms our wellbeing team needs to grow, therefore we are in the process of recruiting an additional full-time team member.

My mother was a resident from September 2022 to December 2022, when she sadly passed. I can not speak highly enough of the care and attention my mother received during her short stay. Mum was treated with respect and dignity by all medical and support staff and this care was extended to me at critical times before, during and after Mum’s last days. Mum did not have dementia and her mind was alert, but her body was failing and she needed frequent medical care, which was provided to the highest standard.

There is an open-door policy with senior management, which gives instant peace of mind. The atmosphere is warm, friendly and efficient. As a relative you quickly become part of the Elvy Court family; there is a lot to be said for a friendly face and a kind word during tough times. There is a lively programme of activities and the food is varied and tailored to individuals. The biggest compliment I can pass on is that Mum said she felt safe which meant the world to me. It’s a special place!

My mum moved in September 2019.
The staff are very kind and attentive.
They are also very kind to me.
I visit Mum regularly up to several times a week and I definitely make my own self at home as they have a nice coffee machine and often biscuits/cakes for visitors.
My mum does have issues eating but the staff will always ensure an alternative is available and are happy to make toast/omelettes.
I am very grateful to all at Elvy Court.

Mum is much salted since being here, and she falls less and does not have to go into the hospital regularly as the staff can deal with everything there. I am happy that mum is well looked after and safe.

The person I am writing about is 96 years old, she has dementia, she doesn't know me anymore, I am sad for her that her world is so small now. But for me, Elvy Court is the best thing that happened to her. For me, it represents kindness and care to my sister-in-law and also to me. So I say a big thank you to all of the staff. My sister-in-law, have the porridge and coffee.

All the staff are friendly and do a great job looking after our dad. They have been working hard to help him gain some weight as now only on liquid meals. We as a family are going through a lot with my sister as she has terminal cancer, they are always there for a hug and to talk to which we all really appreciate.

Review from Mandy R (Daughter of Resident) published on 22 June 2023 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

Our dad arrived in Elvy Court on the 4th July 2022. Unfortunately, he passed in May 2023. But, for the last year of his life, he was cared for 24/7. All staff involved could not have done any better to look after his complicated needs. The staff go above and beyond in making sure all the residents are clean and just well looked after. My sister and I said it was an extension to our own family. Without their devotion, our dad's time in a care home could have been so much different. They encouraged him up most the time, when he was not poorly, to sit in the lounge so he could interact with other residents or just have a change of scenery. It was not easy as Dad could not walk or feed himself anymore, which meant that he had extra needs. Again, thank you Memory Floor Team (days and nights teams). Many thanks again and we would recommend anyone needing care or a residential/dementia home to enquire about Elvy Court. Thank you again.

The staff at Elvy Court are all caring and attentive. My father's personal care is of a good standard and I have noticed a general improvement in service since the new manager has been in post. I have not been invited to a 1 -1 meeting to discuss dads care and would welcome this opportunity. The activities do not seem to happen on dads floor.

Thank you for your kind review, I will pass your comments on to our staff. I am sorry that you have not been invited to review your father's care plan and will address this with the team in our daily planning meeting, we can then incorporate his hobbies and interests into our activities programme.
