All staff, both admin and nursing were very caring and helpful. They understood the needs of my husband and the requirement to encourage my husband to get up and not stay in bed all day. They encouraged him to be sociable and to eat and drink. He actually put on weight which is very good as he lost a lot of weight since he's been ill.

The refurbishment of the main/public part of the home is excellent, a transformation. We are looking forward to the next stage as Mum's room can be smartened up, hence the lower rating for "rooms".
The work was done very well and the builders were very considerate of the residents and visitors.
Mum is very happy here and being able to "take her for coffee and cake" in the cafe area is a game changer - she really enjoys this and comes to life.

Thank you to all of the staff who work so conscientiously.

My mother was only a resident for a little over three months. During her stay at the home she was treated with the utmost care, respect, compassion and thoughtfulness. The staff were exemplary in carrying out their duties and were diligent in their care and attention to my mother, as well as to all of the other residents. The facilities were superb, even though refurbishment work was taking place for part of her stay. I cannot praise the staff enough for their professionalism and care and attention. I would heartily recommend this care home without reservation.

My father passed away after being reunited with Mum. It was important that Mum attended Dad's funeral after 72 years together. Mum has dementia and is incontinent, which makes it difficult. The staff were amazing and supported Mum at Dad's funeral.

All the staff at Sutton Valence from reception to care, nursing and activities were brilliant. Everyone cared, showed compassion at difficult times and made the end-of-life experience for my father the best it could be.
We were made to feel at home, my grandchildren were looked after, and we were all known, treated with respect and a part of the care home community.
I couldn't have wished for a better home for my dad.

Thank you, everyone.

My mum has received such wonderful nursing and care whilst a resident. From the warm welcome, the reception staff give upon entering to the amazing relationships the staff build with not only my mum but our whole family; this place rightly deserves the word home in its title. Covid has made everything difficult but over the last year, staff have worked hard to ensure we have been able to maintain good and regular contact whilst not compromising on health and safety. The management has supported their staff effectively, been personally on hand to help us when needed and I feel sure they truly appreciate what dedication is on display every day. Whilst I won't name individuals, there are particularly special people here for whom this is obviously a vocation and I feel blessed they have cared for, listened to, laughed with and nurtured my mum.

I found Sutton Valence nursing home to be a very caring environment. My mother-in-law had severe diabetes when she arrived at the home but the two wonderful nurses get the diabetes all under control. I would highly recommend the caring staff and my mother-in-law said how wonderful they were. Even during covid, the home provided a safe environment where we could visit her, see her and talk via a microphone and screen.

My mother came to Sutton Valence for a months respite care and to see if she was ready for full time care home living. Although at the end of the month she decided she can continue to live independently for the time being - I cannot fault the care, understanding and friendship she was given during her stay. Well done to the team.

Thank you to the manager and all the staff for their care and love they give to our Mum since she came to stay 3 years ago. It has certainly been a challenging year for all be it resident, staff and relatives. The staff have continued throughout to provide an excellent service and environment for our Mum to be cared for safely. It is very reassuring to see that she seems happy and content within such a lovely environment by staff who show that they care and treat her as if she was their own relative. When visiting it is also appreciated that l always feel so welcome by friendly and familiar staff (the staff turnover appears low) who knows Mum. If I have a query it is always dealt with promptly and nothing is too much trouble.
