Over all time Wombwell Hall Care Home has 130 reviews.
The room is kept clean, but is in need of an update, as is the bedding. Hopefully, as mentioned in one of the meetings with the home manager, the refurbishment of the rooms are underway and there will be more showering facilities in the new en-suite bedrooms.
Thank you so very much for taking the time to share your kind words about our care team, the food and your uncle's room. We are in the middle of a refurbishment at the home at the moment and would hope that once completed, this would alleviate any areas you mention as being a little tired. We are...
At first, she was reluctant to accept where she was and the help that was available.
She is now happy and pain-free most of the time.
She does complain but usually, the issue has already been dealt with.
The staff, that we have met and seen, are all wonderful and do their very best to support Mum.
Her room is dated and tired but clean and has a fantastic outlook. So very acceptable indeed.
The food is good but Mother does grumble about this sometimes. That said she never asks for alternatives so that makes it harder to please her. Based on what I've seen, the food is very nice.
She has lots of visitors who bring her in whatever she wants.
For someone who has been fiercely independent all of her life, the environment is not what she ideally wants but deteriorating health has made this the only safe option.
We truly appreciate your feedback, taking the time to do so and sharing this with us and the community. Your review motivates us to continue providing exceptional care and set the standards for excellence in everything we do. You'll be pleased to know that Wombwell Hall is undergoing refurbishments. Thank you so much, from all at Belmont Healthcare.
We couldn't thank the staff at Pickwick enough, they helped my granny's last few months of her life the best, catered to her every need, Pickwick is very clean, always had fresh bedding, washed and bathed her, when she wanted food looked clean and nice. The staff didn't just look after the patients but the family too, when it was her last few days they did their all to make sure Granny and the family were as comfortable as we could be. When we would bring the children down they always make sure the children were good and had colouring. The staff always pull their own weight, no one though they was better than anyone else. Thank you again Pickwick, you restored my faith in care homes, love to you all!
Thank you so much for taking the time to leave us a fabulous 5-star review. We are very happy that at a difficult time for you and your family, you all felt that every one of your Granny's needs as well as your family's was taken care of, this means so much. We will ensure your feedback is passed onto our excellent Care Team at Wombwell Hall - With warmest regards, Belmont Healthcare Team.
The staff are very friendly. Very welcoming and food good. No complaints at all. My stay here has been good. Rooms are nice, lovely outlook. Could not be better. (I stayed in Copperfield.)
We appreciate your feedback and are delighted to know you enjoyed your stay. Your satisfaction is our top priority and we look forward to welcoming you again soon. Thank you so much for taking the time to leave us a fabulous review. We are thrilled to hear that you loved your experience with us and look forward to sharing this with Team Wombwell. Kind regards, Belmont Healthcare Team.
We cannot thank you all enough for the care and patience you showed Mum and all of us during her time at Wombwell Hall. We are so grateful to you all for making her last couple of weeks as comfortable as possible and for all your kindness.
Taking the time to leave such a great review about out service has really made our day, thank you. We are so pleased that we met your dear mum's needs and it was our absolute pleasure to do so. I would like to thank all the staff at Wombwell, including the sisters, carers, cleaners, laundry staff, chefs, gardener and maintenance men, who strive to make the residents' lives as comfortable as possible. I always feel welcome when I visit the home.
Once again, thank you for choosing us and...
She seems quite happy being there but then she does sleep for most of the time.
Therefore the marks I give relate mainly to the personal hygiene care.
Thank you for sharing your rating with us and for bringing this to our attention. We appreciate your time taken to provide us with honest feedback. We are pleased to hear that your Mother-In-Law is happy but we're sorry to learn that the personal care hadn't appeared to have been up to our usual...
I could not praise the nursing staff and carers at this home enough. They gave my mum such a wonderful experience while she was in their care. The staff are friendly, caring and very professional. Would highly recommend them to anyone looking for care for a loved one.

The staff showed compassion, sympathy and empathy towards him every day. We were looked after as a family too. The staff worked hard and with dedication. We will always be grateful for the care he received while in their care. Many thanks.

I found the staff in Wombwell Hall to be very hard working and take good care of my mother, especially the senior carer, nothing is a problem for her, also very polite to all our family and mother and we know she is left in good hands with her and her staff.
Thank you so much for taking the time out to leave us a lovely review and for sharing this with us and the community. This was so lovely to read, it makes us all feel proud to know you feel your mother is in good hands. It is our absolute pleasure to care for her. Best Wishes from all at Belmont Healthcare.
My brother was taken into Wombwell Hall in March and he had been taken off of medication for prostate cancer. Your staff, nurses and carers could not be faulted, they were kind and patient. He could not have received better care and attention.
Thank you so much for taking the time to leave us a glowing review. We are so pleased that your brother was content with our care. We will share your kind words with our lovely team. Best Wishes, from all at Belmont Healthcare.
My mother has only just been a resident for a couple of weeks, she seems happy enough. A resident who was in a room next to her and played music in the night has been moved after Mum complained. The food is good and they will often make her something else if she doesn’t fancy the dinner. The staff seem proactive and are always popping in on her to see how she is.
We're really grateful and appreciate you taking the time to share your review with us. We're happy to hear that your dear mum was listened to. We will ensure your valuable feedback gets shared with our lovely team. Best wishes from all at Belmont Healthcare team.
My mother was having trouble finding a chair that she could sit comfortably in. The administrator at head office arranged for one to be provided to Mum, as I couldn’t afford to purchase Mum her own one. She was so helpful. I can’t explain how grateful I am for her help and for the director and his help too. Made my mum’s life so much better. Thank you again.
Thank you so much for taking the time to send in such a lovely review, we will of course ensure that your kind words are shared with everyone. We believe that it's key that our Head Office team work very closely alongside our Care Teams across all of our locations - and we are so glad that on this...
My mother is very happy while she recovers from a fracture to her knee.
My late father also received a great deal of loving care from everyone and it's lovely to see that this loving care is still the case today.
Hello Jennifer, thank you so much for taking the time to leave us your wonderful review. Your kind words go a long way - we will ensure that these are passed on to our Wombwell Hall care team, who will appreciate them very much. Wishing your Mother a speedy recovery from her knee fracture - with warmest regards.
Some of the staff are lovely, caring and efficient others are not.
Therefore I cannot give a great review as you may have hoped at this present time.
Thank you for your review we are of course extremely disappointed that the care standards were not up to expectations. We have a strong set of values and standards as an organization these of course take time to become embedded in the home. We have been working tirelessly since taking the home...
Staff are very caring and, although very busy, do their utmost to make our mum happy and comfortable, chatting and cheering her up. The staff are also most helpful to the family, answering questions about our mum and maintaining a friendly relationship with us. Thank you Wombwell Hall staff! The finance officer has been very helpful, especially when we had to sort out finances at the start of Mother's stay.
Thank you for your positive review concerning the care of your mum. We are delighted that the staff are so helpful and you find them welcoming and friendly. I am pleased that your mum's finances got sorted out when she first arrived. We shall, of course, pass on your comments to our fantastic team.
Very helpful, always there when needed and help with any questions. Make Mum laugh, very happy atmosphere from all staff.
Thank you for your wonderful review. We are delighted that your mum is happy and there is a positive atmosphere in the home. We shall ensure that the team have this review passed on to them.

Thank you for this amazing review of Wombwell Hall. We are delighted that your mum is happy and enjoys a laugh with the fantastic team. We shall, of course, pass on your comments.
Carers and nurses are very kind and caring, even though they are always busy. Mother could be quite demanding and awkward at times, but they reassure her and try to calm her when upset.
Thank you for your kind review. We are so pleased that the staff are able to reassure your mother and support her when she is upset. We shall, of course, share this review with the rest of the team.

Meet the Team (1)
Richard has enjoyed a varied career. After beginning his post college working life in social care, he then focussed on working with teenagers and young people. This in turn led him, (by accident he will tell you) to take to the high seas, and spent a number of years on cruise ships around the globe. Upon returning to dry land, Richard worked in a number of related industries both in the UK and for a short period abroad - hospitality, entertainment and show management, including media and local radio - he even became an award winner whilst managing a seaside pier and theatre!
However, this led to Rich being headhunted back into health and social care management, which is where he has stayed for the past 15 years. He has worked as a Home Manager, General Manager, Operations Director, Regional Manager and Director - and now is delighted to join Belmont Healthcare as the General Manager at Wombwell Hall. A little care village with a big heart and ambitious plans for the future...
Richard's whole career has centred around the same basic core principles and values, from day one. A love, respect and duty of care for people, a passionate commitment to the most outstanding customer service which includes caring - really, really caring. And that is as true today as it ever was - and what you will find at Wombwell Hall.
