My husband has been in Glebefields Care Home for six years. He has mostly had good care.
In the last six months, the standard of care has improved significantly.
Management has improved, which shows in general professionalism and smooth running of the home.
The manager and deputy manager know what
they are doing and leadership is good.
The management and staff have been very kind to me at a very difficult time.

I could not have wished for a better place for my mum in her last few weeks of life. They are all so caring and warm. My mum was made to feel welcome. They could not do enough for her. That meant so much to us as her family. When they called to say she had to go to hospital I was away in Bristol. They
did everything to get me back - they were going to drive and get me but we hired a car. When she passed they were all great. Thank you.

Glebefields is a lovely country house with lovely gardens and views. Mum has a ground floor room and thoroughly enjoys the looking across the fields, watching the seasons change. She is very happy there and very well looked after. The staff are very friendly and there always seems to be some kind of
activity going on.

My sister and I visited a number of care homes in the Banbury area before both agreeing that Glebefields represented the best value and quality of life for our Mum in her last remaining year of her life. We are extremely grateful for the care and support that your staff gave both to Mum and to our family
and I believe that Mum even in her confused state of mind fully appreciated.

My husband found it difficult to settle in as he is very deaf and the stroke has left him with great problems such as an inability to use his left hand, loose teeth and much frustration.
Staff are very kind and do their best to understand him.
There are problems finding someone to talk to. Nothing
is too much trouble for the staff.

Mum lived at Glebefields for the last two years and three months. Her care while she was there was brilliant. The staff have been exceptional and looked after and cared for her during her stay.
Unfortunately, Mum passed away in later March but would recommend Glebefields as she enjoyed her life there
until she was taken ill.

Without exception the staff at Glebefields are exceptional. They are caring, kind and compassionate to residents and family alike. The house has lacked strong leadership over the last two years (this has now been addressed) and improvements to raod, surroundings etc are beginning to filter through.
Some maintenance and hygiene issues.
Reply from Rebekah Saint, Marketing Executive at Barchester Glebefields Care HomeThank you for taking the time to review us, our team will be touched that you regard them as exceptional, as we pride ourselves on our high standard of care. They always seem to take an age to get everything done eg. toilet visits, but my sister is not the best of patients.
Staff always seem cheerful and helpful.
Reply from Rebekah Saint, Marketing Executive at Barchester Glebefields Care HomeThank you for taking the time to review us. Our team will be very pleased to hear that you always find them cheerful and helpful. We endeavour to reduce the time it takes to answer the bell, however if all our carers are already assisting a resident there may, on occasion, be a short wait. As always our home manager, Colette New, has an open door policy and would be happy to speak with you at your earliest convenience. Alternatively, pop in to one of resident and relative meetings as we always love hearing new ideas on how we can improve our service.

The staff at Glebefields have been outstanding in all respects of my mother's care.

Due to their input, we have seen her physical and mental state improve beyond our expectation, she is extremely settled in Glebefields mainly due to the constant care and attention from all the members of staff. In

addition, we as her family have been kept informed on a regular basis and any requests met with a smile.

We were desperate to find a bed within a nursing home, it was a very emotional time and my friend only had days to live. Glebefields in Drayton were exceptional with the speed and care to sort this out for us. They got the room ready and moved us in within 24 hours of the desperate home visit. I will
always be grateful.

The staff, who were under pressure at times and operating in difficult circumstances, were always responsive and caring to carry out their very difficult jobs with good spirit and attitude.

They made my father as well looked after as possible and managed my mother's concerns with good understanding

and patience.

The family was always impressed with how the staff coped in these difficult matters and remain most appreciative.

My uncle (93) is happy at Glebefields; the staff are kind and the accommodation is comfortable and safe.
When he arrived 15 months ago he was agitated and unwilling to stay (in the dementia unit) but the staff were patient and understanding and he now says he is content and in 'good condition'.

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.793)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.793) out of 10 for Barchester Glebefields Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 31 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 31 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.793 for Barchester Glebefields Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (301 Excellents x 5) + (47 Goods x 4) + (14 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 362 Ratings = 4.793
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Barchester Glebefields Care Home is based on 31 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 42 registered maximum number of service users is 8.4, which has been reached with 31 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

I’ve always been passionate about creating spaces that feel like home, bright, beautiful, and welcoming. For me, it’s not just about a clean room; it’s about ensuring our residents and visitors feel cared for in a safe, pristine environment. I take great pride in maintaining high standards of infection control to keep our community healthy.

"Hi, I’m Zoe, the Activities Coordinator at Glebefields.

My mission is to ensure our residents live life to the fullest through a diverse and inclusive activities programme. I am passionate about delivering life-enriching experiences that promote both physical and mental well-being. From hosting themed events to building strong links with the local Banbury community.

I strive to create a vibrant atmosphere where every resident feels valued and empowered to try something new. For me, there is nothing more rewarding than seeing a resident rediscover a lifelong passion or gain confidence through a new hobby."
