Always helpful and courteous staff. They are taking good care of my husband.
Thank you for trusting us with your husbands care. It is always nice to hear from family members feeling like their loved one is cared for and looked after.
Great home.
I put 'good' for activities. I am in a battery-powered wheelchair and I want to be able to get into the garden myself but there are unsteady ramps at each door.
Thank you for your genuine support, we hope Green Gates care home do everything they can to make living in the home as easy as possible.
It certainly is a good place to live and it's nice to have other people to talk to. I have been missing the usual activities (cancelled because of the Coronavirus) but look forward to them restarting soon.
It has been a difficult time for all our residents and we hope Green Gates care home did everything possible to make the last few months as easy as possible. Hopeful things will continue to get better and we can reintroduce more activities back into the home on a regular basis.
I love my home.
So happy to hear such lovely words from one of our residents, we are very grateful to have you stay with us.
Very caring - happy atmosphere. Willing to listen.
Thank you. We hope Green Gates care home did everything to make life at home as enjoyable as possible.
Green Gates is a small home with a very family atmosphere. She was very pleased with the company and care. Once she became bedbound and was no longer able yo participate; she was thrilled by visits to her room, where staff spoke with her, trimmed her nails and fed. Their response was very warm, and I was well supported in her final moments by the night staff.
Thank you for the praise. We are very sorry about your loss, hopefully you can go away from this feeling like your loved one received the best possible care.
My father is well cared for and comfortable. He has a good relationship with the staff, who recognise his individual needs. His health has improved and the staff are friendly and welcoming to family and friends.
Thank you for the kind words. We are very happy to hear you feel at ease with your father in our care.
Green Gates Nursing Home was able to admit the resident at very short notice when it became clear that he needed help - so he was admitted later that day. He regained strength and mobility during his stay and was later able to transfer to a residential home.
Thank you for you review, we really appreciate the kind words.
Care for my mother has been very good at Green Gates. Staff are attentive and courteous and the atmosphere is always calm and welcoming. Green Gates is a smaller residential home than she was in previously and there is a more domestic feeling to it that creates a positive vibe throughout.
Thank you for your kind words. We are very happy to hear you can feel at ease with your mother in our care.
Such a lovely place for my dad to be. He is extremely well cared for by a fabulous team of positive, caring staff. The food is lovely and he is looked after and kept safe and very comfortable at all hours of the day.
Thank you for the praise. We are very happy to hear you can feel at ease with your dad in our care.
My father is being well-looked after at Green Gates. The care team are well trained and understand his needs. I am reassured by the care and attention that he is being given here.
Thank you for trusting us with your fathers care, we really appreciate the praise.
I was very impressed with how my husband was looked after at Green Gates. I found the care staff very sympathetic and caring.
It can be hard trusting your loved ones care with someone else, so we really appreciate the positive comments.
The gardens were lovely last year but at the time of writing the weather and lack of a gardener have taken their toll.
Overall the staff are friendly, caring and helpful.
Thank you for the positive feedback. We will discuss your comments with the home’s manager to help us continually improve our service.
The care that he received throughout his stay was second to none and we found everybody to be approachable and understanding of our needs as well as my fathers-in-law's. I pleased to say that during his time at Green Gates, he made a remarkable recovery and is doing better than ever. The food was brilliant, we even ate there a couple of times while visiting, and the facilities, although lacking an ensuite bath or shower, were perfect for what we needed.
Thank you for taking the time to leave such kind comments. We are very happy to hear about your father-in-law's recovery and hope to see you again in the future.
The home is always clean and I am made to feel welcome whenever I visit the home.
Thank you for such lovely feedback. We are delighted to hear you can feel at ease with your loved one in our care.
My seven-night stay at Green Gates followed surgery at the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford. From the time I arrived until the time I left, the collective efforts of the management, nursing staff and general staff were truly excellent. They were all cheerful, professional and always available. I was always consulted on the meals I was served with, and the regular supply of tea and biscuits was most welcome. As indicated elsewhere on the form I would recommend Green Gates to anyone who was searching for a care home.
Thank you for your kind words. We are happy you enjoyed your stay with us. We hope to see you again in the future.
My mother was always treated with care and respect and her needs were met by very responsive staff. When I visited her, there was always someone to welcome us and to listen to any questions or concerns we had. The general sitting area was always warm and very clean and there was always somewhere we could sit and have a cup of tea together. The food looked delicious with a good choice each day. There were lots of personal touches that made her stay stress-free. The dedicated staff can't be praised highly enough. Well done - an amazing team!

I must not forget the domestic staff or those in the kitchen and the chef who produces the food that my husband enjoys.
My son chose well with Green Gates.

I cannot praise Green Gates enough, they went above and beyond the call of duty. My mum was very poorly when she went in there from the hospital. She was treated with compassion, respect, dignity, kindness and lots of love and that was from all the staff. It was like home from home. I cannot thank them all enough, even in my mum's last days they allowed me to stay with her day and night.
They made sure I was ok and provided lots of hugs. I would recommend Green Gates to anyone. The love that they had shown was second to none and they made what was a very difficult time a bit easier. Thank you to the manager and the team.
Thank you for your review of Green Gates Care Home. We are pleased to hear about your positive experience and appreciate your comments regarding the compassion, respect, and kindness your mum received from the staff. We will share your comments with the home's manager. Our deepest condolences for your loss, the Bupa Customer Care Team

Meet the Team (3)

I am the home manager at Green Gates. I worked in the NHS for some years after qualifying as a nurse. My speciality was orthopaedics. When I had my first child I decided to leave the NHS and move into the care sector. I have now been a manager for approximately 10 years.
What I love most about my job is the variety - every day is different.
Outside of work, I live in Bicester with my husband and two children who are 7 and 12 years old. I enjoy reading and travelling.

I joined Bupa in 2018, initially as a carer. I completed my NVQ3 and became a senior carer before moving to the financial administrator role around 18 months ago. My job involves managing the financial accounts of all residents and keeping the system up to date. It also involves ordering, payments, managing petty cash and completing financial reports.
Before joining Bupa, I worked in retail management and various HR positions for about 16 years. Following my nan getting dementia - which progressed very quickly - and spending a lot of time with her, I thought a career in care might be something I could be good at. When I turned 40, I bit the bullet and applied at Green Gates.
I love being able to help people - whether it be residents, staff or visitors. If I can do something that makes their life a little easier or puts a smile on their face, I can go home happy.
I am a confident, hard-working woman and pride myself on doing a good job. I have RA which I manage well and do not let hold me back. I have a partner called Dave and one son who is nearly 25. Outside of work, I like music, books and a good horror film!

I qualified as a nurse in 1998 after completing a diploma in general nursing and midwifery in India. I worked in a hospital in India until 2002 before moving to the UK. I have worked for Bupa since April 2005.
I love my job - every day is different at Green Gates and I enjoy building relationships with our residents and their families.
I have two children and live with my family in Oxford. Outside of work, I love keeping active - going to the gym and for walks. I also like going to India to see my family and friends at least once every year.
