It has been a difficult time for all our residents and we hope Green Gates care home did everything possible to make the last few months as easy as possible. Hopeful things will continue to get better and we can reintroduce more activities back into the home on a regular basis.

Green Gates Nursing Home was able to admit the resident at very short notice when it became clear that he needed help - so he was admitted later that day. He regained strength and mobility during his stay and was later able to transfer to a residential home.

Care for my mother has been very good at Green Gates. Staff are attentive and courteous and the atmosphere is always calm and welcoming. Green Gates is a smaller residential home than she was in previously and there is a more domestic feeling to it that creates a positive vibe throughout.

The care that he received throughout his stay was second to none and we found everybody to be approachable and understanding of our needs as well as my fathers-in-law's. I pleased to say that during his time at Green Gates, he made a remarkable recovery and is doing better than ever. The food was brilliant, we even ate there a couple of times while visiting, and the facilities, although lacking an ensuite bath or shower, were perfect for what we needed.

My mother was always treated with care and respect and her needs were met by very responsive staff. The general sitting area was always warm and very clean and there was always somewhere we could sit and have a cup of tea together. The food looked delicious with a good choice each day. I cannot thank them all enough, even in my mum's last days they allowed me to stay with her day and night.

I am the clinical deputy manager at Green Gates and have been in this role since January 2026.
My career in care began when I qualified as a registered nurse in 2015. Since then, I have progressed through a variety of roles, including senior nurse, unit manager, clinical lead nurse, deputy manager and acting home manager. These experiences have given me a strong understanding of delivering high-quality care and supporting both residents and colleagues.
What I enjoy most about working in care services is the opportunity to help and support older people while making a real difference to their lives. I am passionate about ensuring every resident receives the highest standard of care and that they feel safe, respected and valued every day.
Outside of work, I am married and have two children. I enjoy spending quality time with my family, especially going for walks with my children. In my spare time, I also enjoy cooking and have a tradition of watching a movie every Saturday evening. I am the maintenance operative at Green Gates Care Home and have been part of the team since 2025.
Originally from South Africa, I owned and operated my own printing businesses before relocating to the United Kingdom five years ago. During the COVID-19 pandemic, I worked within the NHS before moving into the leisure sector, where I progressed to a duty manager role. After relocating to Oxford, I joined a 72-bedroom hotel, where I held both operations manager and maintenance manager positions. I am now proud to be part of the team at Green Gates Care Home.
What I enjoy most about working in care services is knowing that my work has a direct impact on residents' quality of life. Whether it is ensuring the home is safe, comfortable and well maintained, or supporting colleagues in delivering excellent care, I take great pride in helping residents feel secure, valued and at home.
Outside of work, I enjoy cycling, spending time with my family and maintaining a healthy work-life balance. I live around 15 miles from the home and enjoy being part of a team that makes a positive difference to people's lives every day.
