Churchfields is the most beautiful, caring home you could ever wish to have a much-loved family member living in. My mum was so loved and looked after. We knew that we didn't need to worry at all, as the staff treated her like their own family, from making a special birthday cake to taking her out for little trips. My mum had dementia, and the staff all kept he occupied and engaged with her. The home was simply the best, and I cannot recommend it enough; it's fantastic.
Churchfields Care Home was recommended to us for my father who has dementia. I have met the owner who is very impressive and passionate about the care her team offer residents. The care my mother is receiving at Chursfields is absolutely wonderful. From her admission from a stay in the hospital, they have been kind, professional, compassionate and thoroughly mindful of her and our needs and emotions. She is now settled and enjoys the reassurance that comes with 24-hour care whilst always being mindful of current restrictions. The staff have enabled her family to visit and maintained contact. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

I have only been treated with the utmost care from everyone since my admission. I've needed various treatments from several medical professionals, all given with care daily. The carers are wonderful, nothing is too much trouble. The staff will all go the extra mile to ensure my comfort.

There is a very happy atmosphere in the home, and lots of activities are arranged to keep residents alert and engaged. During this lockdown, they have gone over and above to keep residents and family in touch. Mum requires nursing care, which is always of the highest standard, and she remains well and happy. Exceptional!

The staff and management provide a high quality of care to Mum and are like her second family. Staff turnover is low, which means the staff are cheerful and makes mum happy as she has a consistency of care. At the height of the Covid outbreak, the staff were still proving excellent care, PPE was not a problem and they got on top of testing really quickly and the communication was honest and regular, so we knew exactly what was going on. One of the staff even turned their hand to hairdressing and the activities have continued in a modified way during Covid to prevent mum from getting bored. The home does not feel like a care home, but like a hotel and the furnishings and facilities are lovely. Mum has everything that she wants there and her health, both mental and physical has improved greatly since moving in. The staff are so quick to pick up if mum is not feeling well, getting the nurse straight away. We are looking forward to spending time with mum on distanced visits soon.
The staff have made my mother very welcome and giving her purpose. The home has a very 'homely', 'friendly' feel and long may this conti8nue. The staff are very professional and give me much confidence that my mother is being cared for properly. Thank you.

I found the premises well appointed and welcoming. The interior was decorated to a high standard and very clean. A member of staff took me to my Uncle, who was enjoying a cup of tea. I was invited for a cup of tea. Very pleasing. We spent time talking and enjoying the beautiful view of the gardens.

The chef's meals are really good, I've said when I go home I'd like to take home with me, his philo pastry is out of this world, also his shortbread biscuits etc. I have never tasted anything to touch his cooking and I am 87 years old. I couldn't have had better care.
All the staff have been friendly and considerate down to the handyman. There is a constant effort to please. Everyone is smart and it is hard to think of improvements. The medical staff are unhurried and caring.

From the first contact to last, Churchfields gets it right. It is very well run and managed. Emails and calls are responded to promptly and when I visited it was easy to speak to nursing staff and discuss my father's condition. The home is bright, well maintained and simply a cheerful place to be. It has had large-scale recent investment inside and out. But aside from this, it is the staff who make it. My father had remained living in his sheltered flat until his final admission to hospital, and all staff respected his wishes (including recognising his favourite shirt!) and maintained his dignity to the last. The end of life nursing care was in my view exemplary. Staff not only cared for my father but were consistently welcoming to me and my family. The home’s links to the local church were also important to us. My father and I attended a Father’s Day service in the home, along with other residents and their families, a few days before he died and it was a happy and joyful occasion.

I am deeply grateful to all the staff at Churchfields for the quality of care, attention and compassion they show towards my father. After four months of hospital/rehab my father was not in a good shape but after only five weeks at Churchfields he has really settled in well and has made significant progress both mentally and physically in what is a relatively short space of time. They have helped him feel comfortable and have boosted his confidence so that he feels safe and is able to be more positive than he has been for a very long time. This is a place where I know he will be treated as a human being, not a commodity so I would not hesitate to recommend it.

It was the most difficult decision I have ever had to make to put my Mother in a home but her Doctor recommended Churchfields and I went to visit. It was clear from the start that this, privately run home, puts the residents before profit and on entering the premises it did not smell of overcooked cabbage and other smells associated with old people's homes. The staff are very caring and treat the residents as individuals with respect and kindness. My Mother, a very private person, has slowly become accustomed to the ways of the home, enjoys the company and thinks the world of the staff.

I originally started as a freelance painter & decorator but then came on board full time as the Maintenance Operative, where I work between Rosebank & Churchfields, spending a few days per week in each care home.
I started my working career many moons ago as an apprentice engineer, which was really interesting, especially working within the stunning university buildings in Oxford. After this, I used my new skills to work with the farming industries, helping to erect specialist farming buildings. I then moved on to own my own shop in Faringdon, selling antiques and collectables. I have also been in the painting & decorating business on and off since the 80’s.
I really enjoy the care industry, I will always make time to stop and have a chat to any residents about their day.

As Customer Liaison Manager, I support families in one of the most important decisions they’ll ever make, finding the right home for their loved ones. I guide and support each care enquiry with compassion and professionalism, ensuring every family feels heard, informed, and confident in their choices.
In addition to my work with families, I also oversee our marketing and advertising, helping to showcase the heart of our homes and the care we provide. Our homes are places to continue living with dignity, joy, and purpose.
Dedicated and deeply passionate, I’m here to help, no question is ever too much.

Daisy is an 11-year-old community champion who has been visiting The Anchorage care home since she was a toddler. A few years ago, she created Through the Eyes of a Child, a heartfelt initiative designed to capture children’s honest reflections on their experiences of visiting the care home, helping staff and residents see the environment through a child’s perspective.
What began as a simple idea has grown into a meaningful programme that fosters intergenerational connections. Daisy encourages children from local schools to visit the home, building friendships with residents and taking part in activities, events, and outings. She has also developed feedback forms to ensure children’s voices are heard and valued.
Over the past year, Daisy’s compassion and dedication have been widely recognised. She has received a Champions of Care Special Recognition Award from Person Centred Software, the Community Cup from her school for her empathy and service, and the Saxon Weald Local Community Youth Winner Award for her outstanding contribution to the care home and wider community. She is also due to join the PDCCA Volunteer Friends Scheme in the New Year.
Now beginning to share Through the Eyes of a Child with other care homes across the group, Daisy continues to lead with kindness, empathy, and maturity beyond her years, proving that age is no barrier to making a meaningful difference.
