Deepdene is a purpose-built care home with 66 comfortable en-suite rooms designed to meet a wide range of residential and nursing needs, including care for those living with dementia. The dedicated team of staff strive to provide the highest standards of care in a homely and supportive environment.

The home is divided into smaller units over three floors, all with self-contained living accommodation providing a more homely environment and friendly community for residents. Facilities include spacious lounge areas, dining rooms, quiet lounge areas for relaxation and a hair salon. The large enclosed courtyard garden offers a peaceful oasis for residents to relax and enjoy during the warmer months, in a secure and safe environment.

Deepdene benefits from a busy social and activity programme with a wide variety of daily activities. The activity team work hard to offer a wide range of stimulating activities that are both engaging and fun, with something for everyone.

Centrally located in a convenient and accessible area of Dorking with excellent transport links, the home is well connected for both local journeys and travelling further afield with Dorking train station less than half a mile away.

I went to a lovely meeting/tea on May 8th, which was to raise money for Alzheimer's disease, and discuss the future plans for the care home.
I believe quite a lot of money was raised.
My partner, who has Alzheimer's was there with me.
The management team talked about the plans for Deepdene. This
included changes within the building, and additional staff for activities and mealtime support.
They are clearly taking any resident's opinions in regard to their food seriously, and making sure that their chef is totally involved in this process.
Senior management spoke with understanding and humour and emphasised that this was an important concern which was being highlighted.
For me, the key point of the meeting was the fact that the care home has not had to use bank staff in the last year!
This says so much about the high quality of people employed at Deepdene.
l feel this also links directly to the senior management team and the way they value all their amazing staff.

Very satisfied with the service of care for my elderly cousin The staff are friendly and very caring. They keep me informed on any medical issues. The level of care that they give my cousin is excellent. Would highly recommend it.

I confirm that I feel relaxed and that everything is being done to the highest level to make the residents cared for. They also keep me updated on any problems that occur. It is important that we can be reassured there are no major problems.

My mum seems happy and settled. The carers and nurses are all very kind, caring and friendly, she gets on with them all as far as I’ve seen. She can be challenging but they all deal with that. The food can be an issue (purée diet) no one ever seems to know what it is! It would be nice to tell Mum what
she’s eating. She loves her puddings but there isn’t always a choice mostly just yoghurt (I’ve mentioned it numerous times)
Cleaning isn’t 100% and laundry can sometimes be an issue too, but someone will go and look for any item that seems to be missing or find clothes for Mum if she doesn’t have many. I think that both the cleaning and laundry staff work very hard but there’s a lot to do! The activities staff visit Mum as she mostly doesn’t want to join in and make her feel included. She loves visits from the therapy dog too! Overall Deepdene is a very welcoming place (especially the receptionist) and everybody who works there is friendly and caring and works hard. I would recommend it.

Staff seem helpful and caring. They keep me updated of any medical issues by phone when needed. Eating is an issue, attempts are being made to address the type of food he will eat and hopefully assistance in eating it. Only negative is clothes, takes a long times, e.g. socks/hankie to be returned to
room. Also loss of false teeth!

I am very happy with the care my husband is getting at Deepdene. My only criticism is the laundry service, which is extremely slow, i.e. it can take ten days to return items and even then I have to keep asking as clothes running out.

In the last 3.5 months, my mum has settled in really well. Always happy and content. This is due to the care she has now. Wonderful staff, all very caring, keeping Mum safe and sound. Very welcoming when we arrive to see Mum. The receptionist is very polite as well. We are very pleased with the home

The carers are excellent, always very respectful. The home is always very clean. The food is always freshly cooked and a good choice. Lovely atmosphere in the dining room. Always lots of activities and the staff are always happy and include as many of the residents as they can.

My mum moved in and was settled and reassured by her carers immediately. So good in fact Mum thought she was in a hotel. The friendly staff now all know her and always have a positive word to say whenever I visit. She was even playing bingo the last time I went, which she has never done before.

My mother continues to thrive here. It is a very friendly and well-ran home. In fact, she tells me that it is her home and how many friends she has now on her floor. She loves the entertainment and trying out new colours of nail polish. Activities are wide-ranging and plentiful. She has so much to keep
her occupied that she no longer reads as she is too tired! Her new lease of life has been great for all of the family. Thank you all.

We are very happy with how she is looked after and how she is responding. Mum was moved from another home to Deepdene Care Centre four months ago. Since she has been there, she is always cheerful and happy. Mum is 89 and has advanced dementia.

My mother was a resident for many years, under a variety of management. I write with reference to the current set-up. In her last year, Mum was very frail, slept a lot and needed help with eating (soft diet) hence difficult to access food and activities (in the past I would have said good). However,
whenever I visited I never failed to be impressed by the personal care Mum received from the staff who attended to her with kindness, dignity and affection. I felt Mum's main nurse really understood her. I live a long way from the home I visited after a long journey I was always given a warm welcome by reception and other staff.

Outstanding staff. Caring, gentle. Large rooms with big windows. Large corridors so people can walk with zimmers, wheelchairs. Food is good. Nursing staff are particularly good, and their close relationship with a doctor's surgery has proved invaluable.

I can't speak too highly of this care home. My husband moved in on the 21st of October 2022, and right from the start, I was given help and advice.
The home itself is a pleasure to visit.
The staff are always so cheerful and helpful; they go out of their way to assist my husband, even though he
doesn't always appreciate it.
Deepdene puts the ward care into a care home.
