In the last 3.5 months, my mum has settled in really well. Always happy and content. This is due to the care she has now. Wonderful staff, all very caring, keeping Mum safe and sound. Very welcoming when we arrive to see Mum. The receptionist is very polite as well. We are very pleased with the home and staff.

My mum moved in and was settled and reassured by her carers immediately. So good in fact Mum thought she was in a hotel. The friendly staff now all know her and always have a positive word to say whenever I visit. She was even playing bingo the last time I went, which she has never done before.

Thanks for everything Deepdene.

My mother continues to thrive here. It is a very friendly and well-ran home. In fact, she tells me that it is her home and how many friends she has now on her floor. She loves the entertainment and trying out new colours of nail polish. Activities are wide-ranging and plentiful. She has so much to keep her occupied that she no longer reads as she is too tired! Her new lease of life has been great for all of the family. Thank you all.

We are very happy with how she is looked after and how she is responding. Mum was moved from another home to Deepdene Care Centre four months ago. Since she has been there, she is always cheerful and happy. Mum is 89 and has advanced dementia.

My mother was a resident for many years, under a variety of management. I write with reference to the current set-up. In her last year, Mum was very frail, slept a lot and needed help with eating (soft diet) hence difficult to access food and activities (in the past I would have said good). However, whenever I visited I never failed to be impressed by the personal care Mum received from the staff who attended to her with kindness, dignity and affection. I felt Mum's main nurse really understood her. I live a long way from the home I visited after a long journey I was always given a warm welcome by reception and other staff.

Outstanding staff. Caring, gentle. Large rooms with big windows. Large corridors so people can walk with zimmers, wheelchairs. Food is good. Nursing staff are particularly good, and their close relationship with a doctor's surgery has proved invaluable.

I can't speak too highly of this care home. My husband moved in on the 21st of October 2022, and right from the start, I was given help and advice.
The home itself is a pleasure to visit.
The staff are always so cheerful and helpful; they go out of their way to assist my husband, even though he doesn't always appreciate it.

Deepdene puts the ward care into a care home.

My mother and aunt both reside at Deepdene where they are both looked after extremely well. They appear to get on well with the other residents and there is lots of entertainment for them to participate in to stimulate what little they have left.

When my sister-in-law came to Deepdene Care Centre it was a bustling place, lots of residents and staff. For a lot of reasons, this is not how it is now. I hope the new manager will be able to turn the place around.

Reply from Raluca Maritan, Manager at Deepdene Care Centre

Thank you so much for taking the time to review our care home, I am sorry that you feel the home lost its atmosphere in the past but I am sure that you have noticed the changes around the home that have been adding to the environment for the people living with us which I am really passionate about. Looking forward to seeing you at the home again soon, Raluca.

Our mum is there for end-of-life care. She has been so well cared for from a nursing perspective. There has been the opportunity to discuss decisions made regarding Mum's daily routines, for which we are grateful.
The food is excellent, and Mum is always consulted with regard to her meal choice.
Rooms are well decorated and clean.

The care centre has excellent leadership, nursing and management.

I visited my mum after many months of lockdown and covid restrictions. I found her to be relaxed and quite happy. She seems to be at home with staff and did not mind being there at all. In the home she was in previously, she always told me she wanted to go back home but now my mother is a totally different and happy person which makes me happy and gives me peace of mind. Thank you very much everybody.
