So far I have been very impressed with the care. My father seems to have settled in very well. He doesn't get as stressed as he did at his last care home. He has also put on weight which was needed as his BMI was too low. All in all, I'm very pleased with the friendly atmosphere and general feel of
the care home.
Reply from Anjaleena Kuriakose, Home Manager at Deepdene Care CentreI am so pleased that you are satisfied with the standard of care that we are able to provide for your father and that you have noticed such positive improvements in his wellbeing. I hope that he will continue to be happy with all of us here at Deepdene and myself and all of the team really do appreciate your comments.

We are very happy with the way my aunt has been looked after at this care home.
She settled in well and appears relaxed and happy when we visit her.
I have been impressed with all the activities and trips out. The staff are very welcoming to visitors. they are also transparent and happy to talk about
any concerns. I find the long-standing staff are very caring and helpful.

My elderly mother moved into Deepdene Care Centre in September 2019 at a point when she had advanced dementia. Staff took trouble to get to know her quickly so that they could support her in the most appropriate way. She settled well and was soon moving around with the use of a walking frame, something
she had not done for months. Her family were made welcome at all times, and any changes to Mum's care, medical input, and nursing needs were discussed as necessary. The activities in all units of the care home were excellent, with imaginative ideas and aimed at the inclusion of all residents at whatever level they could take part. The care and skill provided to Mum was very good, and when it was no longer possible to visit her due to the Covid lockdown, we knew she was in good hands. Sadly, despite all efforts, her frailty increased and she died peacefully in the home with staff who knew her looking after her to the last and providing excellent support to her family.

The manager and the team provided a very professional yet personal service to my father over the past year or so that he has been resident. My mother was also a resident here for a short time in 2017 and we had no hesitation in contacting the care home when the need arose for my father. My father fully
enjoyed the activities and entertainments that were a daily occurrence and always expressed how happy he was at being there. The staff have shown my parents and us nothing but kindness and have provided a professional care service when they both needed it most. We are most grateful for this.

My mother has been a resident at Deepdene for almost a year. She is content at the home and has become very settled here. The staff are friendly and considerate, they take a genuine interest in the welfare of the people in their care. Recently I walked into the home and could hear my mother singing
along with other residents. It was really heartwarming as previously living alone she suffered with anxiety. I feel her quality of life has improved which enables me to enjoy my frequent visits.
Reply from Anjaleena Kuriakose, Home Manager at Deepdene Care CentreThank you for your kind words about the care we are providing for your mother here at Deepdene. Our staff members will be both rewarded and motivated to hear that their high level of care and support are so much appreciated.

My aunt has been in Deepdene for 8 months. Her health mentally and physically has improved since she has been there. I am so grateful for how caring the staff are. There is a lovely atmosphere and the dining room is like a restaurant. The lounge is bright and comfortable. The entertainment is exceptionally
good and very suitable for the residents. It has been such a blessing to have found this place.

I'm very pleased I chose Deepdene for my mother she is very well cared for and the staff all treat her with great kindness and dignity. The close relationship with the local Doctors surgery is also valuable, medical problems have been dealt with quickly and close involvement with myself.

Deepdene Care Centre has been amazing in supporting my father's needs. He has been there for over six years now and as his needs have changed, his care has been adapted perfectly. He is always well fed, clean and well presented and the staff have always made me feel able to turn up without prior arrangements.
They are extremely friendly and always keep me informed with any issues that I should know my father has always given the centre 'a good name' and there have never been any complaints. I would recommend Deepdene without hesitation.

I am so pleased I chose Deepdene Care Centre for my dad. I was dreading my dad needing residential care but he is happier than he's been for years, he is finally receiving the level of support he needs to be happy and secure.

go above and beyond and are all so happy and welcoming.
Thank you Deepdene.

My uncle was transferred to the care of Deepdene owing to his previous home no longer being able to cope with his increasingly demanding dementia-related symptoms and behaviours. My uncle had severe anxiety and depression, and required constant care for day-to-day living. Through their sensitive and
professional care and attention, the Deepdene staff managed to successfully turn his behaviour around, relieving his anxiety and depressive symptoms and bringing him a level of peace and contentment that he hadn't experienced in years. We recently took the decision to move my uncle from Deepdene to be geographically closer to his remaining family. Deepdene kindly facilitated this move by providing a cab and a familiar member of staff to accompany him on the 2-hour journey around the M25 to his new care home. I would have no hesitation in recommending Deepdene to anybody who has a relative with dementia.

Current Review Score: 9.9 (9.936)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.936) out of 10 for Deepdene Care Centre is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 30 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 30 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.936 for Deepdene Care Centre is calculated as follows: ( (320 Excellents x 5) + (22 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 342 Ratings = 4.936
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Deepdene Care Centre is based on 30 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 66 registered maximum number of service users is 13.2, which has been reached with 30 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
