Emberbrook Care Home provides residential, nursing, dementia and palliative care in Thames Ditton. The home is surrounded by lovely gardens where they regularly enjoy afternoon tea and hold summer activities like garden parties and barbecues. In the centre of Thame Ditton village, Emberbrook, is close to shops, public transport and only a 2-minute walk from Giggs Hill Green.

The home provides permanent and short stay or respite care and the team, along with the family, will develop a personalised care plan that will include everything from hobbies, exercise and dietary preferences, to any health issues.

Whether you like spending time with others or prefer a little quiet time on your own, the home has plenty of space in which to while away an hour or so. When Dad entered the home in September 2020 we were pleased with it. Sadly Dad passed away in March 2022 but me, my mum and brother just wanted to say how kind, caring and compassionate all the staff were, not only throughout his time at the home but during his last days as well. Nothing was ever too
much trouble for any of the staff in the Mole unit, from the carers to the cleaner and nursing staff. During his last week, I spent a couple of nights there and the nurse on duty even made up a bed for me next to Dad to make me more comfortable. Another night she helped us reheat a meal and gave us plates and cutlery. Dad was able to pass away peacefully in familiar surroundings, hearing the usual hustle and bustle and music of day to day life. We cannot thank you enough, what you offer is not five-star luxury but the care, compassion and cheerfulness offered by everyone truly surpasses that. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

My father has been at Emberbrook for 2 years now and the team looking after him really do treat him like family. So much so that when I needed to look for a placement for my mum recently it was the only choice I felt I could make. The whole staff from management down have made the process so easy and
I can feel rest assured that both my mum and dad are now being looked after by the best staff I can think of. Their new room is beautiful and I can't wait to visit them more moving forward. Well done and huge thanks.

Communication with Emberbrook reception staff and ward staff are very good. A caring and supportive home. Residents are well cared for, and numerous activities are on offer. Accommodation is excellent. Very good on-site catering. Lovely gardens.

The staff at Emberbrook were so kind and caring during the Covid epidemic to my mum. When we were not allowed to visit, they became like family to Mum and ensured she maintained a good quality of life. Emberbrook has been wonderful during what has been a very difficult year, well done, Emberbrook! My aunt has been well looked after by the amazing staff, and my thanks go out to every single member, nothing is too much trouble for them, and I am very appreciative of the care and support they give. I
have been a resident family member for three years, firstly for my mum, who lived downstairs for two years and sadly passed away last year, and my aunt who has been a resident since July 2019 and lives upstairs, having moved from another local care home. I love the updates on Facebook! I have only put good on food/drink and management questions, as the manager is relatively new, and due to Covid restrictions, I have yet to meet them, and I have no knowledge of the food and drink that is served at present. However, I have no reason to comment negatively. I would have no hesitation in recommending Emberbrook to anyone.

I was most impressed with the home from the first time that I made contact. The staff genuinely appeared to care and this was demonstrated throughout my friend's stay at the home. They encouraged him to exercise to improve his strength and mobility, which enabled him to return home after an 8-month
stay. I was advised of any issues as they occurred and I felt we worked in partnership to support my friend.

My mother became a resident of Emberbrook in May when her previous care home could no longer meet her needs. Her health was failing, she'd lost interest in eating/drinking and spent much of her time in bed! We really thought she would pass away soon. Within a few weeks of being cared for at Emberbrook,
she had gained a new lease of life! She's put on the weight she had lost, is active again and is our happy mum again. I can't thank the Emberbrook team enough for the love and care they give!

My father arrived at Emberbrook from hospital at the start of the Covid-19 lockdown, which was very stressful for him and for us. The staff have been fantastic in settling him into his room and making him comfortable when we were not able to. He is now on end of life care and we could not wish for him
to be in a better place. He is being looked after amazingly well and we are so grateful to everyone at Emberbrook.

My sister has been in the home for many months. She seemed to settle down with the help of the friendly staff quite quickly, also her room suits her needs.
I also find the staff really puts themselves out to please, however busy they are. As far as I am concerned, the home is great for my sister's
needs and I am happy with all the facilities.

My granddad has been at Emberbrook for quite some time now and we regularly visit him as a family however with COVID we have not been able to visit the home but instead, we have been able to keep in touch with Skype and Facebook. We cannot thank the staff enough for all the hard work they are doing

Just wanted to comment on how caring Emberbrook are at this awful time of Covid 19. I am humbled by the sacrifices carers are making to look after our elderly relatives. Many are giving up leave, working over hours, going far beyond what is expected. I hope you get government recognition when this is

Although my husband does not have Alzheimer's, 9 months ago, he was admitted to an Alzheimer's unit as this was the only accommodation available. He has since refused to go to another unit 'downstairs' as he likes his room, especially the staff who know his routine. Staff at all levels are approachable
and offer help where applicable. We both enjoy the activities and was delighted with the delicious food provided for our 50th wedding anniversary and a surprise cake on his birthday. I have already recommended Emberbrook to friends looking for help in caring for relatives.

My father stayed for a month's respite and then decided to stay permanently. We found all the staff very welcoming and caring from day one. There are a few areas of concern. No continuity of management - senior positions have not been replaced which places an unfair strain and stress on the care staff, of whom there are insufficient numbers. Some agency staff are used, who are unfamiliar with the needs of residents. Permanent experienced
staff are an essential requirement.
