The family were always very pleased with the way in which my husband was cared for during his time at Emberbrook. The care in the final weeks of his life was excellent including the support given to us as a family.

Staff were excellent. Very happy and obviously showed respect and kindness to residents. My mother was always clean and tidy and physical/medical care was appropriate to her needs. I was reassured whenever I visited that we were very well cared for.

The care provided here was exceptional and in the latter stages of my mums life, I wouldn't have wanted her anywhere else.

From the professional nurses to the upbeat, cheerful staff and very jolly and sympathetic events organiser, the care was faultless. Everyone, mum (and other residents) and staff were always immaculately turned out, as were the surroundings. Everyone was very in tune with my mum's tricky condition. I cannot recommend enough.

My father spent 10 days respite at Emberbrook in August 2017.
He has advanced Alzheimer's and vascular dementia and requires significant nursing care.
This was a very positive experience as the staff were attentive and caring.
Whilst the family were apprehensive, it gave my mother a chance for some much-needed rest.
We visited often and were always impressed with the level of care and attention that my father received.

Highly recommended.

My cousin who died in Emberbrook Care Home after one year there and her husband who died after five years there were beautifully cared for and treated with the greatest respect by all members of staff.
We as visitors were made to feel welcome and were more than adequately supported as our relatives health declined.

The home was bright and cheerful with many activities for the residents.

The overall care received is excellent. The carers are wonderful, looking after my father-in-law.

The two areas that could be improved are the food and activities. I appreciate there are difficulties and constraints, but many residents only have their meals and activities to look forward to.

My aunt spent her final seven months at Emberbrook Care Home and we feel incredibly fortunate that we found such a marvellous community to support her during such a potentially difficult time. All the staff were amazing but particularly the nurses and care staff not forgetting the cleaner! Who made my aunt feel cared for and secure at all times.

They also supported us, the family throughout her stay and especially during the difficult final days. Words cannot express how much we appreciate what you did for us all. Thank you, thank you! We will miss seeing you.

There is a vibrant and lovely atmosphere at Emberbrook. All of the staff are ever so helpful and encouraging. The activities are varied and stimulating. In my mothers 3 months at Emberbrook, she has become very settled and loves the chatty staff.

The staff are always very welcoming when visiting my father. They take time to listen to any requests or information we need.

My father has been a resident for approximately 6 months and is a very quiet man and not a great socialiser. The staff have appreciated this, and slowly he is becoming happier to attend a few activities and happy to intermingle at his own pace.

He says he is very happy here and everyone is very kind.

I was very apprehensive on being told that Nana was in a care home on my return for Pakistan. My first contact with the care home was to be greeted very warmly by a member of staff whom I think is an incredible asset to all the residents, staff and visitors. Other staff members are also extremely good with Nana and she relies on each of them and considers all of the staff as family.

I am pleased with the staff's general helpful attitude and treating residents like family members and I commend the manager and staff for their care.

My cousin had been in hospital. She had cancer and had a massive stroke. The hospital suggested Emberbrook. I knew nothing about it beforehand but the reviews were extremely positive so we moved her there for the last 5 weeks of her life.

She was made extremely comfortable. The nursing staff were so caring and attentive. They always took the time to phone and consult me on any problems. I am very happy that we found Emberbrook and my cousin was so well looked after.

This would have been my mum’s sixth year at Emberbrook (she sadly passed away in March 2017), but during her time there, she was always happy and content. The staff are very friendly and welcoming, it’s such a lovely atmosphere, a bit like an extension of your family home.

During the last 6 months when my mum was very poorly she needed round the clock nursing care, which was always excellent. It was difficult to see my mum so poorly but the staff worked together as a team to give comfort and support. Any worries I had were dealt with straight away, they seemed to genuinely care for their residents’ as well as the resident’s families. That was really nice.

The Manager is very approachable and always on hand to help or to chat if you have any concerns, or just need some re-assurance, that makes such a difference.

I would certainly recommend Emberbrook.

My mum moved into Emberbrook Care Home in June 2013. Every member of staff looks after mum in an excellent way. They are kind and caring. As mum approaches her 103rd birthday I cannot ask for her to be living in a better place. I have and will continue to recommend Emberbrook Care Home to friends and family.

One feels a warm homely atmosphere as soon as one enters the front door at Emberbrook.
Residents are treated with utmost care, dignity and are known as individuals very quickly.
Everywhere is scrupulously clean and a great deal of laughter and banter can be heard everywhere.
My mother even had an outing to a local garden centre, something that had never occurred in her 17months in a previous home.

All in all, a very well run home.

From my first meeting to the final visit, the genuine responsibility and care towards residents and their relatives/friends shine through. There has to be a routine but residents are given choice as to the time they are helped out of bed and when they go back to bed in the evening. The right personality of staff is very important to Emberbrook Care Home, they care and respect the residents and each other. You can teach someone how to lift someone but you cannot teach them to care about that person. My dad's final months were very contented thanks to Emberbrook Care Home.

During my mothers stay at Emberbrook for the past 5 years, the home has always been kept to a high standard of decor and cleanliness. At all times, the staff have been kind and attentive to her. I have no hesitation in recommending the home to others that are in need of dementia care.

In the beginning, the management and senior nursing staff were excellent at dealing with my husband and me as we worked through the traumatic experience of "putting my mother into a care home". At the beginning, they gave us unlimited conversation and time. We found quite quickly that this friendly, embracing and understanding culture extends to all the staff. We have seen the angst of mum's dementia gradually diminish. The hugs, laughter and conversation everyone shares with mum have made her visibly more content. Whilst we know there is no "cure" for her condition we can at least be happy that she is in the most secure and caring environment we can provide.
