Emberbrook Care Home provides residential, nursing, dementia and palliative care in Thames Ditton. The home is surrounded by lovely gardens where they regularly enjoy afternoon tea and hold summer activities like garden parties and barbecues. In the centre of Thame Ditton village, Emberbrook, is close to shops, public transport and only a 2-minute walk from Giggs Hill Green.

I visited a friend at this care home. I previously worked as a residential carer and visited many different care homes with my service users. I have never come across such a clean (and clean smelling!) home with such friendly and obviously caring staff. Most of the care homes I visited previously I
found the staff to be just doing a job and showing little compassion especially towards residents with Alzheimers/dementia.
The attitude I experienced at Emberbrook was outstanding.

This is a first-class nursing home. Everybody goes the extra mile (or 2) to ensure patients comfort and dignity. My wife is happy to be here. Parking is easy and the home is quiet and peaceful.

From the moment we went to visit, there were nothing but smiles from everyone. On arrival, we were welcomed with open arms. Our stay has been wonderful. My father is looked after like he is still at home.
Everyone is always happy, the staff are always helpful and will do anything they can to make
you at ease.
I am there every day and never feel like a visitor. It is home from home.
The home is clean to the enth degree. I am so relieved my father is happy there as he will be there until the end.

My husband is totally bedridden, nearly blind and doesn't speak. He is very well cared for and kept clean and dry. He is always treated with kindness and respect and his medical needs are expertly dealt with. I visit nearly every day and am always offered refreshments and any worries I have are always
listened to and dealt with by the excellent carers.

This is the best care home we have visited. Our friend told us she was very happy in your care home and how well the staff behaved towards her.
We would like to thank Brighter Kind that you allowed us to use the lovely room to entertain her friends after the funeral. The kitchen had provided wonderful

I am very satisfied with the very good care my husband is receiving at Emberbrook Care Home.
The staff, without exception, are efficient and caring. One always feels welcome at most times of the day. It is pleasant to meet up with other residents who have relatives in the home in the lounges linked
to each floor and it is nice to use the garden and ground floor facilities for visiting musicians. Area around the home also good for me.

From the start of her stay in February 2017, our family were impressed with the level of care mum received. From the practical aspect to the kindness, patience and dignity she was shown. Staff would take time to chat with her and enjoyed her sense of humour which she had to the last. We, as a family,

My dad has been in Emberbrook for 14 years now with dementia and passed away just this week. I cannot praise the care and attention from all the staff enough for making these years as comfortable as possible right to the end. My father in law arranged for mum to go into this particular home at the time
(he has long since passed) but I know he would be pleased with his selection. It is a terrible illness to have but she couldn't have been cared for anywhere better.

Emberbrook helped me initially with advice on how to get hospital discharge and funding organised for my cousin. The receptionist and senior nurse in charge were always particularly helpful and kind, both before he was admitted and during his sadly short stay.
The main carer allotted to him was always
kind and enthusiastic which was much appreciated. We felt he was cared for very well and kindly too.
Altogether, a very good team and a happy atmosphere.

My Mother resided at Emberbrook for 5 years and passed away this month. During her time there she was looked after with all the kindness and friendship one would want for any elderly person. She was made to feel part of their community and despite her considerable needs, the staff always had time for
her and the caring attitude to make her life comfortable and interesting to her. Her medical and nursing care was of a particularly high standard. When coming to the end of her life she and the family were all treated with great sympathy and the Senior and staff nurses were always available to explain situations and so lead to a peaceful end. We could have wanted nothing more. Thank you to them all.

Staff were excellent. Very happy and obviously showed respect and kindness to residents. My mother was always clean and tidy and physical/medical care was appropriate to her needs. I was reassured whenever I visited that we were very well cared for.

The care provided here was exceptional and in the latter stages of my mums life, I wouldn't have wanted her anywhere else.
From the professional nurses to the upbeat, cheerful staff and very jolly and sympathetic events organiser, the care was faultless. Everyone, mum (and other residents) and staff
were always immaculately turned out, as were the surroundings. Everyone was very in tune with my mum's tricky condition. I cannot recommend enough.

My father spent 10 days respite at Emberbrook in August 2017.
He has advanced Alzheimer's and vascular dementia and requires significant nursing care.
This was a very positive experience as the staff were attentive and caring.
Whilst the family were apprehensive, it gave my mother a chance for some
much-needed rest.
We visited often and were always impressed with the level of care and attention that my father received.
Highly recommended.

My cousin who died in Emberbrook Care Home after one year there and her husband who died after five years there were beautifully cared for and treated with the greatest respect by all members of staff.
We as visitors were made to feel welcome and were more than adequately supported as our relatives
health declined.
The home was bright and cheerful with many activities for the residents.

The overall care received is excellent. The carers are wonderful, looking after my father-in-law.


The two areas that could be improved are the food and activities. I appreciate there are difficulties and constraints, but many residents only have their meals and activities to look forward to.

My aunt spent her final seven months at Emberbrook Care Home and we feel incredibly fortunate that we found such a marvellous community to support her during such a potentially difficult time. All the staff were amazing but particularly the nurses and care staff not forgetting the cleaner! Who made
my aunt feel cared for and secure at all times.
They also supported us, the family throughout her stay and especially during the difficult final days. Words cannot express how much we appreciate what you did for us all. Thank you, thank you! We will miss seeing you.

There is a vibrant and lovely atmosphere at Emberbrook. All of the staff are ever so helpful and encouraging. The activities are varied and stimulating. In my mothers 3 months at Emberbrook, she has become very settled and loves the chatty staff.
