My cousin has been well cared for generally. Her hearing aids are often problematic - she says that when she is washed in the mornings the aids are frequently not removed, so often have water in the tubes or when they are removed they are done roughly and tubes have fallen out. We have had to take them to the hospital for repairs.

Since moving to Wykeham House just over 6 months ago my mother has really responded well to the care and attention provided. Her family all feel she is in safe hands because the entire staff have shown great care and respect for her as an individual.

Family members were invited to have a Sunday roast with the family member who resides at Wykeham House. Wonderful occasion. Well organised. Lovely atmosphere. Food amazing. Great occasion and look forward to a get together.

It was a real pleasure for me and my team to share a simple tradition such as a Sunday Roast with all the residents and their families. Something that all our residents would have at one time enjoyed at home with their families and loved ones. Thank you for joining us and supporting our activities programme.

Hello. I'm Tanya, the General Manager here at Wykeham House. My team and I look forward to welcoming you to our home.
I have been part of the Barchester family since 2016, beginning my career as a Nurse and progressing to Clinical Lead and onto Deputy Manager to my current role as General Manager here at Wykeham House Care Home.
I have a wealth of clinical and care home experience. I am passionate about providing high-quality, person-centred care and making a real difference to residents and their families. I also take great pride and responsibility in supporting and developing the whole team to create a warm, welcoming home where everyone feels valued.

I qualified as a nurse in 2007 in the Philippines and in the UK in 2011. As Deputy Manager, I ensure that any medical conditions are appropriately monitored and assist with training the staff to manage these conditions. I have worked for Barchester for over 10 years and have been at Wykeham House since 2020. My favourite thing about my job is interacting with the residents and caring for them.

I joined Wykeham House in October 2022 but I have worked doing activities in care homes since I left College, I began volunteering in a local home when I was 15 years old and then took on my first job in a care home when I was 18. I have enjoyed extending my knowledge to improve my work and have a Level 2 in Dementia Awareness, Domestic Abuse Awareness and Mental Health Awareness. I have also attended courses on End-Of-Life Activities as well as Dementia focused Activities. I love what I do and for me, it is important that every day is a new day for our residents with new opportunities and a smiling face to come with it.

I joined Wykeham House as a kitchen porter in 2003 and was promoted to Head of Housekeeping in 2005. I always find time to talk to the residents and always have fun with everyone. I am good at making them smile.

Haidee joined the Wykeham team back in 2013. She started as a nurse and showed dedication and comitment. She was promoted to unit manager in 2019. She is a hardworking member of the team

I joined the team in 2019. I have been a nurse for many years. One of the best aspects of my role is seeing our residents smiling faces every day knowing that we are making a difference to their life and enriching it day by day

Hi, my name is Shubha, I have been working at Wykeham since 2016. I started my role as a carer and have since been promoted to trainee care practitioner. I am really enjoying my new role and the responsibilities it brings.

I started working at Wykeham House in October 2023. I have worked as a chef for many years and have worked in hotels and restaurants. I decided I wanted something a bit slower in pace and am keen to give the residents a wonderful dining experience everyday.

Our housekeeping team are an essential part of maintaining and looking after the home. The housekeeping team run the in-house laundry service for our residents and ensures the facilities around the home are well-kept and clean. Each day the team cleans residents' rooms and communal areas across the home. The housekeeping team are another set of smiling faces our residents see throughout the day and residents are encouraged to maintain activities of daily living by helping the team complete their tasks.

I joined Wykeham House Care Home as a Senior Carer in December 2022, with an NCFC CACHE Level-3 qualification in care. This foundation in care has been instrumental in my growth and development as a carer. I enrolled as a Trainee Care Practitioner with Barchester Healthcare and embarked on a path of continuous learning. In June 2024, I proudly completed my Care Practitioner course, further enhancing my skills and knowledge. I am dedicated to delivering exceptional care and support to our residents and I am very proud to be part of a team that prioritises the well-being and dignity of those in our care.

Hello, my name is Nick, and I am the Head of Maintenance at Wykeham House. When the opportunity came up for me to work at Wykeham House, I jumped at it. I have worked my way through the company from kitchen assistant to Maintenance. I always enjoy chatting with the residents, making sure they are comfortable and always leave them with a smile on their face. I moved to the maintenance department over 2 years ago and learnt how the building runs, as well as taking over the garden and making it a relaxing and pleasant place to sit with friends and family.
I hope I am still here at Wykeham House for many years to come. I look forward to continuing to work with Barchester to improve my knowledge and grow within my role as Head of Maintenance. I look forward to refurbishing our courtyard, upgrading our garden furniture and, of course, I hope to continue fulfilling residents' wishes. Resident safety is my priority, so every day I make sure our home is compliant and secure for them and our team.

Wendy has decided that she would like to become our resident ambassador here at Wykeham House. She will consult with the teams across the home about improvements and give feedback from other residents within the home.
Wendy has been at Wykeham House for several years, and when asked why she would like to step into the role, she said: "I think it is important that everybody gets their voices heard." Wendy is a very active resident here at Wykeham House, sharing meals with other residents, attending activities within the home and spending her time in social areas. Wendy thinks she is right for the role, as she is experienced living here and would like Wykeham House to be a welcoming home to any residents already here and any residents who join us in the future
