Queen Elizabeth Park Private Care Home

I have been very pleased with the care my mother receives. The staff always seem cheerful and positive and treat the residents with dignity. The activities are varied and give those who wish to take part the stimulation they need.

Cannot fault the Home for the quality of care given to its residents. Personally, I would like to see relatives given the opportunity to be more involved. This may be an unfair comment as Covid restrictions have been applied throughout the year.

Mum has gradually become settled and now takes part in many of the activities. The staff are caring, she loves the food, I think perhaps she is again going to have to increase the size of her clothes! Although she never wanted to leave her own home she can now see so many different people every day and she is able to have a bath regularly, which she couldn't do in her own home. She is very happy the only regret she has is that she is unable to see her school age great-grandchildren, which is not the fault of Queen Elizabeth Park Private Care Home.

As a family, we could not have asked for better care for my Dad than in Queen Elizabeth Park. It was such a relief to know he was safe, comfortable and never alone. Every person was so kind and treated us with care, respect and patience - so important to us at that upsetting time. They were quick to respond to our requests and answer our questions. Dad had Alzheimer's and other medical conditions but always seemed calm and contented. He was watched over closely and as his condition deteriorated he was looked in on every 15 minutes. The team prepared us for his passing explaining what we needed to arrange, so when the day came, they took care of everything and all we needed to do was come and say goodbye. I am personally so grateful for this; it made an emotional time so much 'easier'. Even a few months after Dad's passing, when I spoke to one of the managers, she demonstrated a genuine interest in how we were all managing. It was not just my father that got excellent care. Thank you Queen Elizabeth Park.

I have just spent two weeks in Queen Elizabeth Park Guildford resting after a knee replacement. The room was clean and comfortable, when I arrived there was a cream tea waiting for me. The nursing carers were attentive, knowledgeable and thoughtful. I really enjoyed the delicious homemade food. I would highly recommend Queen Elizabeth Park for respite care.

A most caring home. All staff work so very hard to keep the residents safe but also provide wonderful care and a variety of activities for them to do and stimulate their minds. Also, interact with relatives so well. Giving information as soon as it’s needed.

I have nothing bad to say about Queen Elizabeth Park, the staff have been amazing looking after my cousin. They are always welcoming and friendly to us when we visit and provide fabulous activities for all the residents to keep them busy. Through this last difficult year for them, they have been nothing but accommodating and enabling visits as and when they can. Thank you, Queen Elizabeth Park.

Mum feels loved and safe living there. I always get a warm welcome when I visit her from all of the staff. It was lovely visiting my second home whenever and as long as I wanted before COVID struck. In keeping all the residents safe relatives have had restricted visits advised by Government guidelines but I know mum is being kept safe and well looked after and enjoys the company of all the staff who are caring and compassionate. It has been a great comfort to me that she is safe and well there throughout this terrible year of lockdown.

The care provided is of a very high standard. A few minor personal issues such as hair brushing and clothing could be better in my view. The staff are brilliantly friendly and personable with the residents which I’m sure has been of paramount importance during the covid pandemic when visitors were not allowed. When my mother was in hospital for three weeks some of the carers went to visit her to make sure she was doing ok which was very touching.

Difficult to give a full review as my mother has only been in the home a week. Because of COVID, the family didn’t get to see or tour the home beforehand. However, through the contact I’ve had so far with the staff they have come across as being very friendly, kind and caring. I talk to mum daily and she seems settled and content which is a huge relief for myself and my family.

Both my parents moved into Queen Elizabeth Park together in April 2019. It took a little while for my mum to settle, but she was very well looked after and supported until she sadly passed away last year. My father is still a resident, and the support and care he was given after losing his wife, after over 60-years together, was amazing. Staff take time to talk to him about Mum, as they knew her, and I know it brings him comfort to know that she is not forgotten. Dad is on a restricted diet, but staff take time to help him to eat and present his meals in a pleasant manner. I’m very pleased we chose Queen Elizabeth Park and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.

I have worked or visited many nursing homes during my working life, so I am very fussy. Queen Elizabeth Park exceeds all my expectations. When I first had contact, I visited frequently and was always impressed with the cleanliness, the lack of smell, the availability of cups of tea. The staff always have time for me, and they are friendly. Lockdown has been hard for everyone. But from what I have been able to observe, the same high standards are being maintained. I have been able to telephone the staff as necessary, and they have phoned me with any problems. The effort made to maintain activities during lockdown has been impressive. My friend was restricted to his room for quarantine at one point, and despite constantly wandering out, the staff seemed to have gently led him back without complaint. I am completely happy with Queen Elizabeth Park and warmly recommend this place.

The staff are friendly and polite and always seem to have time for everyone, nothing is too much trouble for them. They have coped very well in such a difficult time and we are kept very well informed.

My wife has been living at Queen Elizabeth Park for just over 6 months now. At first, I found the transition very hard, living with someone for over 40 years to then have them move away. The staff made this so much easier for me and knowing the care and love they gave both my wife and I helped greatly. Since the move, I feel that I have gained a family. The home feels like my home and nothing is too much for anyone, from the care staff to the catering team, activities or manager.

My mother was discharged from hospital to this care home on end-of-life care. She survived only two more days. My experience of the care home is limited to that brief period. Since it is necessary to rate the establishment in various respects, I have opted for the middle grade - satisfactory - in most cases because my limited experience of the home means I cannot be more precise in my judgement. However, because of a particular incident that occurred during my mother's brief stay, I would not recommend the home.

I would highly recommend this lovely place.

I enjoyed my stay at Queen Elizabeth Park. The staff were very caring. The food was good but sometimes it was cold having come from the floor above. I did find the care home expensive.

The facilities at Queen Elizabeth Park are excellent and we would be happy to recommend it.

My mother has been in Queen Elizabeth since October 2018 and I have always found the staff to be very caring and helpful.

Our Mum was taken to (QEP) Queen Elizabeth Park for respite care after suffering a nasty fall and a spell in hospital. It has been a difficult time for our family as a whole but knowing the expert care she has been receiving has helped tremendously! The team of staff at every single level have been exceptionally kind and caring, with a genuine interest in the welfare of their residents. Our Mum is anxious to go home now and we have a care plan in place. Thank you to each and every one of you who have helped Mum through this crisis.
