A caring, compassionate service that is provided with an understanding of the patient's needs at a difficult time in their life.

For myself, recovery was made possible at an early date because of consistent professional care by all the staff.

Victoria Chartwell is amazing. Everyone is so kind and caring, me and my family can't thank the staff enough for the care of my Mum. We would all highly recommend Victoria Chartwell and my Mum has enjoyed the care and fun she's had with all the staff. The food is fantastic (thank you to the chefs) and the physio support is amazing. Can't thank you all enough for everyone's kindness, patience and care.

My mum was in Victoria Chartwell for rehabilitation, the care she got was amazing the staff are the kindest loveliest people I have ever met, we were worried how she would be in there but seriously she didn't want to come Home. She was kept busy with activities and sitting and chatting with staff and other residents.
The physio team worked so well with her to get her strong and back home.

I can't thank everyone enough for the kindness you showed Mum and our family.

My Father was a resident from 14th Nov 2024 to date for rehabilitation after falling over on a public road and fracturing his neck and wrist. The service of the staff at Chartwell has been amazing and I cannot express how well my Father is being looked after. The staff are very kind, polite and professional.

So pleased my Father was taken care of at this nursing home.

My dad's been a resident here since having several foods and was referred by the hospital. I can't compliment the staff here enough, every single one of them is genuinely interested in each resident and spends time chatting and I can confirm the care here has been taken is not just in his room. He constantly enjoys the food, enjoys the conversation with all his nurses and carers and the fabulous place.

Overall Experience
My brother, aged 71, was a resident at Victoria Chartwell for four months after receiving a terminal diagnosis at the Royal Sussex. During these months, until his death, he was looked after very well by the nursing and care staff who treated him with kindness and dignity. The staff invariably sought to cheer him up if he was down and he always spoke of how well he was treated by them. A special mention should be made of the chef as my brother loved the food which is made in the Home's kitchen. If he wasn't feeling very well the chef came to his room and suggested something light to eat and made it specially for him.

The last days of my brother's life were difficult for him and his family, but the nursing and care staff were so kind to all of us and made the whole situation bearable. Thank you to the manager and your wonderful staff. We'll never forget you.

I came to Victoria Chartwell for rehab on 23/09/24. This is ongoing, I am still here. Since arriving I have been shown nothing but kindness and good care. Being in pain and unable to do personal care for myself, the staff have all been exceptional in their care for me and preserving my dignity where possible. The food is good and tasty and the rooms are clean.

The care has been exceptional. All staff are friendly and helpful. The food is delicious. The room has the most amazing views of the downs and the sea. The staff go above and beyond to assist and make you feel safe. I'd recommend Victoria Chartwell. The physio has arrived daily for rehab. As most care homes meet standards.

I'm a retired nurse and have worked in care homes at times many years ago, but none as good as this one. Victoria Chartwell stands alone in every way. The building itself is comfortable, just like home.

Everyone makes you feel special and really cared for. No rush. All the staff are very happy and are always ready to help you in any way you need them. You are encouraged to go down to the lounge to be with other residents. Activities are helpful too. And the food is good. I would stay here if I could.

The hospital sent me to the nursing home for rehabilitation. The care was friendly, respectful and kind. The home was comfortable and clean and the food was good. The intensive physiotherapy within a month changed me from immobility to walking amazingly!

Staff kind, caring and polite. Couldn't wish for better. Rooms need decorating and made cheerful and welcoming. The entrance hallway needs decorating. TV badly needs upgrading, most difficult to operate!

From the welcome I received when arriving from the hospital to the day I left for home, I received the absolute best in kindness and overall care from all staff and physios. Aware that I was recovering from surgery, I was supported sensitively throughout my stay. This contributed to my eventual mobility to continue my recovery at home. Victoria Chartwell must be rated excellent in all areas.

Overall Experience

On my arrival at Victoria Chartwell, I was made welcome by the manager and shown to my room. I have found everyone I have been in contact with friendly, caring and very patient. The food is good, even to being asked if there is anything I particularly like that was added to the menu. After my wife's death some years ago my life was becoming difficult but now with the care I receive at Chartwell, it is much improved. The ageing process is less hard to live with so I am very happy to reside here among so many of the younger staff looking after me.
