Victoria Chartwell is a happy and welcoming place for those in their vulnerable years. There is a programme of activities every month, a sunny garden to enjoy and regular staff which helps to build a good relationship between resident and carer.
My father has wonderfully cared for nearly a year with dignity and respect by all members of staff both day and night. The kindness shown to our family in father's last days was immense and eased the burden of his passing.
Firstly, I am very sorry for your terrible loss and secondly I must thank you for your wonderfully kind words which mean a great deal.
In my experience, the staff are excellent, caring and kind. My grandmother is always clean and smartly dressed, her nails are painted and her hair always perfect. My grandmother is always happy and the fact that she is 102 years old and going strong which says a lot. She loves the activities and has been talking more and seems more alert than ever.
This is a really positive reflection on our staff. Thank you and I am delighted to learn that your experience is as you would expect.
My great aunt was cared for and nursed through the last week of her life with great kindness and compassion. This is an excellent nursing home and the staff are very competent, kind and thoughtful.
Thank you for your kind words at such a difficult time.
My mother has resided at Victoria Chartwell for a few years, the care throughout has been excellent. She has celebrated her 100th and 101st birthdays in the home and on Friday 31st March and Saturday 1st April she was given two fabulous parties: one for the residents with a singer and one with her family. The staff worked tirelessly, over and above what is expected of them to make her 102nd birthday so brilliantly memorable. I cannot praise them enough.
It was a pleasure to make the celebrations so special, for all of us. Thank you for your support and we look forward to next year.
Staff friendly and extremely helpful. Food very good and varied although I would have preferred more green veg. Very good value for the money and the nurses knew what they were doing and at times went the extra mile. A shower room would be a good thing.
Thank you.
I was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma (terminal bone marrow cancer) in 2008. I was admitted to hospital in early January with a UTI and pneumonia. In late January I was transferred to the Victoria Chartwell for rehab care until late Feb. From the start, I felt 'at home', safe and comfortable.
All the staff showed a caring and loving approach. Nothing was too much trouble and it seemed that attitude was given to all residents. There is obviously a good team spirit at the home.
The food was nourishing and plentiful and well presented.
If I need nursing care etc in the future I would be very content to return to the Victoria Chartwell.
My mother has spent 6 weeks here in rehab after a fall and a hip operation. She is 94 years old and has received excellent care during her stay. I can not praise the staff enough for their dedication and support. She has been safe, comfortable and very happy here and would highly recommend this nursing home. Please inform all staff and pass on our sincere thanks.
