Was transferred to the nursing home from Brighton Hospital in order to regain some strength and balance, to enable me to return home safely. Have only needed minimal assistance from staff, but they seem to be very good with other residents who are very elderly and some have dementia. The assistants do help me with bathing etc, show empathy, and encourage me in my recovery.
Thank you, but I do note that you are only rating us as 3-star. Please let us know how we can improve.
Very comfortable. Good food. Lovely, helpful staff.
Thank you so much for your five-star review. Much appreciated.
I came here after a hip operation. I have found all the staff here to be very good and helpful.
Thank you so much for your very kind review. Much appreciated.
Staff were very friendly and helpful. Meals were excellent.
It really matters.
Very kind.
As it happens, I know this home where I had visited very elderly friends in the past, my experience has been good but I have no knowledge of value for money.
Thank you.
The care at the Victoria Chartwell is really quite simply amazing. The staff truly care for their residents. The staff are so engaging and friendly. Chartwell offers lots of interesting daily activities to keep the residents busy. The nursing home is very well run. Whenever I have a query about anything, the management team are there to help. Chartwell sometimes puts on fun parties. One such party was organised specifically for my Mum but residents, family members and staff shared the fun. It took place in November 2023. My Mum chose a ‘Spanish Day’ theme and included exciting flamenco entertainment. The residents and their families were also treated to an Elvis impersonator for their Christmas party last month, which was also enormously fun. Happy New Year to all of the staff at The Victoria Chartwell Nursing Home. They deserve a big pat on the back for their achievements of high standards throughout and compassionate care.
The staff will be delighted!
The staff have been very supportive and caring for my mother. I come daily at different times and she is clean, happy and looks in better health each day. The staff have encouraged her to get out of her room and exercise which is helping towards her recovery. I am very confident in my mum's care.
Thank you.
Very pleased with the staff - all very friendly and caring.
Much appreciated.
Our dad has been staying here for three weeks now. We are very impressed with the level of care he has been receiving. The staff are all very friendly and very caring and very helpful with any questions we have. The home seems to run very smoothly. Well done to you all.
Thank you so much for your five star review. Much appreciated, so glad all good.
The food is amazing.
Very much appreciated.
Mum has been treated very well, everyone has been very kind and supportive. A good team overall.
Thank you for your feedback and we hope to achieve more in future.
She was treated with respect, dignity and care at all times. Lots of staff, around with plenty of time for residents and visitors. The nursing staff were really kind and thoughtful.
She really enjoyed the food too. Was given choices and all to a good standard. The gardens and communal areas were nice, clean, light pleasant areas. Her experience here has taken away her fear (and mine) of potentially going into a care or nursing home for a longer period.
Her room was a bit shabby, needed decorating, but had a TV, a view, a comfy bed and her own loo. Most of the other rooms were better and nicer, but she was only there for a short time. She'd be happy to go back here if the need arose.
Thank you for such a lovely review and I do apologise about the bedroom. We are commencing a refurbishment of bedrooms in October and they will be transformed! Best wishes.
I have really enjoyed my stay at Victoria Chartwell. The staff have all been wonderful, everyone being so kind, respectful, happy and considerate. I shall be sad to leave and would always be happy to come here again. It has been like being part of a big family. Thank you everyone at Victoria Chartwell.
Thank you so much and I am delighted you enjoyed your time with us.
The staff are all caring and helpful. They look after my mother-in-law well. The only thing letting it down is the portion size of the food. I understand many residents only need small meals, but my mother-in-law prefers more.
I am very sorry to hear about the food portion size and will certainly speak with the chef regarding this. My apologies.
I think this care home is absolutely amazing. The staff are without doubt the nicest, they genuinely care about the residents. My mum has been in this care home to rehabilitate, I believe the care here has saved her, she has been made so welcome and happy. I have spent many hours visiting and always witnessed incredible care and love from all the wonderful staff, they are incredible.
Thank you so much for your five star review. I am delighted you are so assured. Best wishes.
So far all staff have been very good to me, nothing too much to do for you. Thank you very much.
Thank you.
An excellent service all-round. Very caring with great dignity. Food is really first-class, with a view of the lovely gardens and a light and spacious lounge. Would highly recommend to others.
Just wonderful.
I have been very happy with the care and support I have received during my stay here. The staff are always friendly and helpful, the food is very good and the room very comfortable.
Wonderful and very kind.
I have been very grateful for the care and consideration shown to me during my stay here. Many thanks everyone.
Best wishes.
The staff of Victoria Chartwell Care Home have ensured that my rehab stay here has been extremely safe and comfortable. The care, support and encouragement they provide is second to none. They are all good-humoured and have a sense of fun when appropriate. I shall miss them when I go home - they are like one big family. In addition, the food has been excellent too.
Thank you.
