Overall Experience
My mother has been staying at this care home for a little while now, and I've been consistently impressed with the standard of care she receives. The staff are always welcoming, polite and approachable, which makes such a difference when visiting a loved one.
There is a real sense that they enjoy what they do and genuinely care about the residents.
The home itself is clean, well-kept and has a calm, comfortable atmosphere. The menu looks appetising, with a good variety of meals.
They have been extremely accommodating and takes the time to understand my mother's individual needs.

Overall, I feel confident that my mother is in a safe and supportive environment, and I'm grateful to everyone who plays a part in her care.

Hi, I came here on a grant, from the Hospital: this is the first home I have been in. Please, from the initial visit from the Manager, who came to the hospital, I wax put at ease. The place is lovely, clean: the meals are 5. The kitchen staff go out of their way to accommodate our requests. The carers are lovely: the night nurses are friendly, considerate. I'm absolutely amazed at the place basically. We have activities organised daily, which I have enjoyed. I'm really happy here: with real thanks.

My aunt has been a resident of Kingsland House for approximately one month. I am delighted to say she has settled in very quickly with the wonderful care and support she is receiving from staff. She has very advanced Alzheimers with difficult daily mood swings which are all met with patience and understanding.

My father has been resident since November. Staff have been extremely accommodating of his needs and personal wishes which is hugely important for us as he is a very proud man who has not taken his loss of independence easily! Communication with the front desk reception team and the management has been very kind, efficient and good-humoured. Sometimes messages between care staff are not passed on or fully understood but whenever we have raised this things have been addressed immediately. We are very happy that we chose Kingsland House, they do a brilliant job under sometimes very challenging services - thank you!

From the moment we walked into Kingsland for a visit with mum the staff were friendly and attentive, whilst being considerate and respectful of mum's apprehension.
Mum stayed for a 4 week respite after a fall. She was able to bring home comforts for her room including some of her own artwork. My sisters and I have been trying to support and encourage mum to paint again without much success. Kingsland staff have enabled mum to enjoy to paint again, much to mum's (and our) delight.
Mum has loved the company of the other residents in the home and enjoyed jokes and laughs with the staff too. It has been a pleasure to see the mum we know and love to come out again. We can visit at anytime during the day and early evening, and even stay for a bite to eat if we choose to.

We are very grateful for the kindness and care the staff at Kingsland have shown us all. Thank you.

My mum had to go into respite care while my dad needed to have urgent treatment and so glad we chose Kingsland house. The personalised care they gave her was excellent and we couldn't fault a thing. We were all very apprehensive about her going into care but would not hesitate if she ever needed it again in the future. All the staff were just wonderful, the food was superb & the home is beautifully decorated. We would highly recommend

Mum stayed at Barchester Kingsland House Care Home for two weeks in the summer so that our family could have a holiday together. She needed a nursing home due to having insulin. We found all members of staff kind, knowledgeable and couldn't do enough in settling Mum in as this was the first time she had been away from us.
She joined in the daily activities that were varied and due to her enjoying this, I have been able to find different day centres that we will be starting soon.
The food was plentiful, varied and nutritious and my auntie was able to have lunch with her sister a couple of times.

I thoroughly recommend Kingsland House and have already booked Mum in again for over New Year.

My father has been in the care of Barchester Kingsland House Care Home for the last four years. Recently, his Alzheimer's became worse and it was agreed that he be moved to the secure dementia unit. The manager has made this transition as comfortable as possible. She moved him to a newly decorated and carpeted room. The care my father has received has always been caring and friendly. The manager is a professional and approachable manager. A special shout out for the senior carer on the Adur Unit who has a special bond with Dad and always brings a smile to his face.
