My father who was terminal ill had to move care homes as the previous care home was closing their nursing unit as he was the only resident receiving nursing care
It was such a blow to.me and my own family as had 2 months to find one, mum is frail and not well herself and my sister was moving
overseas and was unable to share this dilemma with them at that time. Plus he was in Suffolk previously but due to our family circumstances he could not stay in Suffolk as it was only me visiting once my sister had moved. My mother could not visit regularly as she is more or less housebound herself . When I 1st visited the home I was taken back by the care, Homely, feel the fact the nursing staff had been there along time and had years of experience as my father's case was complex( I am a nurse myself of 45 years) & have never seen anyone with his needs. I just knew immediately this ticked ally boxes. The saddest thing was he passed away 4 days after he moved in.
Reply from Chunmei Jian, Home Manager at Cherry Hinton Care HomeThank you for your kind words. Were honoured you trusted us during a difficult time. Our deepest condolences on your fathers passing. It was a privilege to care for him.

My mum has moved to the Cherry Hinton Care Home for one month now. I am very grateful to the manager and staff of Cherry Hinton Care Home for helping this transistion. They answered my enquiry patiently, gave very good advice, helped to communicate with the social worker and liaise with my mum's previous
care home. The relocation was very smooth and the manager and staff have taken away the stress from me and my family. They even organised a lovely birthday party for my mumjust 4 days after the relocation. The room is well arranged and clean. The staff are so supportive. Thank you.
Reply from Aga Clark, Business Development Manager at Cherry Hinton Care HomeThank you so much for taking the time to share your feedback. We are delighted to hear that your mum's move to Cherry Hinton Care Home has been smooth and that you and your family have felt supported throughout the transition.
It's wonderful to know that our team was able to provide helpful guidance, liaise with the social worker and previous care home, and make your mum's relocation as stress-free as possible. We are especially glad that she enjoyed her birthday celebration and is settling well into her room.
Your kind words mean a lot to the team, and we will be sure to pass on your thanks to everyone involved. We look forward to continuing to support your mum and your family in the future.

The Cherry Hinton Care Home today provided my mother with the perfect 100 years old birthday celebration which I and seven other members of mum's family thoroughly enjoyed. We loved the way so many of the staff joined in with genuine enthusiasm and made it such a special day for her. Nothing was too
much trouble and the excellent catering and venue within the home itself was absolutely perfect. I cannot speak highly enough, too about the wonderful, patient, caring environment at Cherry Hinton at all times and would recommend it without reservation to any prospective families.
Reply from Aga Clark, Business Development Manager at Cherry Hinton Care HomeThank you so much for your wonderful feedback. It was an absolute honour for our team to help your mother celebrate such a remarkable milestone. We're delighted to hear that you and your family enjoyed the day and that the atmosphere, catering, and setting all helped make it special.
Our team will be thrilled to know their enthusiasm and care meant so much to you. Creating a warm, supportive environment for our residents and their families is at the heart of what we do, and your kind words mean a great deal to everyone here at Cherry Hinton Care Home.
Thank you again for your heartfelt recommendation - it truly is appreciated.

My wife has been here for the last 6 months and has settled in very well. She is comfortable in her room, and she is close to the dining room and enjoys her food. She doesn't walk well and has to spend a lot of time in her wheelchair. The staff are very friendly, and always seek to help her.

I have been very happy with the care my Mum has received at Cherry Hinton Care Home. The staff are so friendly and always say hi if we pass in the hallway. My Mum seams generally very happy with the support she receives.
It makes me feel reassured that there are also 2 nurses on each floor.
If I discuss
any special requests or issues they are always dealt with promptly.
The activities are varied, unfortunately my Mum does not always get involved! However that is her choice.
My only slight issue is she seams to be missing quite a lot of clothes as i bring new items and some i have never seen again!
Overall very very good.
Thank you

My father has been a resident at Cherry Hinton for the past ten months, he was well looked after by the kind attentive team at Cherry Hinton. He was quite sad to leave but as he is moving closer to family to facilitate more frequent visits, in his best interests. The team took the time to get to know
him, what he likes and what he does not. I can't praise the whole team there enough and was particularly pleased with the support received during quite a stressful time for Dad, towards the end of his stay. The location and facilities are nice with access to a nice garden and nice walks close by. Thank you to everyone at Cherry Hinton :)

In general, the home is very focused on keeping residents as active as possible, an indication of which is the Tai Chi activity this afternoon (which appeared to motivate the majority of the residents), among many other varied activities, which go on on a regular basis.

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 60 registered maximum number of service users is 12, which has been reached with 39 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
