The staff have been a great help at assisting our family transition into a 'new normal'. Not just helping my father settle in, but also helping the rest of the family adjust too. Their concern & help spanned the whole family & making sure we were all happy & doing the best for all of us.

I am very satisfied with the care my relation gets, the staff are friendly and the varied activities excellent. I am happy to recommend the home. The residents are treated with respect, the dining tables always nicely dressed and reception is always welcoming.

My mother has been here since August 2024, having been in another care home, which was horrible and she wasn't happy.
We managed to get my mum into this home, first impressions were absolutely outstanding; we were so relieved to get mum somewhere where she was happy and so very well looked after.

In general, the home is very focused on keeping residents as active as possible, an indication of which is the Tai Chi activity this afternoon (which appeared to motivate the majority of the residents), among many other varied activities, which go on on a regular basis.

This is my new home now, I was welcomed in by a very excellent manager and reception staff. The nurses here are so caring and very helpful and are very kind. The food is very thoughtfully prepared by a good cook. I cannot speak high enough and am very happy here.

Sadly my Dad was only with you for three weeks but I've got to say that during those three weeks, he experienced nothing but 100% care and dedication from your team when I asked him if he was happy he said he was. The home was well-maintained very welcoming and very clean. The food was exceptional standard
and my Dad did say he enjoyed that they put on a barbecue with live music which my Dad said was a wonderful day and he enjoyed it. I want to thank all the staff from management down to the domestics for their love and support for my Dad and his last three weeks of life.

After visiting my grandad over the weekend, I wanted to update my review and share my thoughts on the care home. This place is amazing, over the previous weekend all the residents were outside partying and enjoying themselves in the garden. It was such a wonderful experience, with many smiles all around.
I have visited my grandfather several times at Cherry Hinton Care Home and have always been impressed by the experience. The facility is consistently clean and well-maintained, creating a pleasant environment for residents and visitors alike. The staff are invariably polite, respectful, and attentive, ensuring that all the residents receive the best possible care. Our mother was poorly when we moved her to the nursing wing of TLC Home but as a family, we were very pleased we had chosen this Home. Mum received excellent care and as a family, we felt we were looked after as well through a very sad time for us. All the staff were very kind, attentive, courteous
and professional. We knew Mum was in safe hands, very, very important at a stressful time.

Jian Chunmei is the Home Manager at Cherry Hinton Care Home, bringing over a decade of dedicated service and leadership within the TLC Group since joining in 2013.


Her commitment to enriching residents’ lives and cultivating a supportive team culture is evident in every aspect of her work. Completing CIPD training strengthened her expertise in people management, allowing her to foster strong, collaborative relationships and ensure consistently high standards of care.


Jian has been instrumental in championing TLC’s Investors in People (IIP) Platinum accreditation, reflecting her excellence in both staff engagement and resident support. As a qualified mental health first aider, she also plays a vital role in promoting team wellbeing.


Her inclusive, democratic leadership style empowers her team to deliver truly person-centred care. Initiatives like partnering with Buck Dental Hygienist Service reflect her proactive approach to enhancing residents’ quality of life and her deep commitment to broader community health and impact.

I am a registered nurse with over a decade of experience in elderly nursing. I started my nursing journey in New Zealand with an acute medical/surgical background, theatre and community mental health nursing. Since arriving in the UK in 2015, my experience has been care home based and my previous role before joining TLC was Regional Clinical Trainer for a large care home company.
I joined TLC in June 2025, and I am very excited about the new role, supporting staff and being part of the team at Cherry Hinton.
