My mother spent her last few months in the care of The Cherry Hinton Care home. The move from hospital was swift and we all felt a little anxious. But my goodness... we very soon realised what a wonderful place it was. My mother was bright and fully aware until the very end although she was bed bound.
She could be impatient and grumpy at times and demanding at others - and the staff were always kind and polite. Everyone took such good care of her and this gave us so much support over the difficult months of losing someone so important to us.
The little touches of homely decor, the privacy given, the ability to listen to your own choice of music (my mother had Classic FM all the time to keep her entertained) and the love that the staff show really impressed me. You hear such terrible stories in the press about places with vulnerable patients but we really could not praise this lovely place and the staff highly enough.

My mum loves it here and has lots of interaction with others and is encouraged to join in with activities etc.


She appears to be treated with respect and dignity, even though she can be difficult at times.


Very pleased with the cleanliness and food provision. Staff need to be on phones less though.

My brother-in-law was a resident at a nearby home but was given notice to leave in September as the home was closing in December 2018. We investigated 6 or 7 homes but chose Cherry Hinton Care Home - this was the best choice we made and he moved in in October and he is very happy here. Long live Cherry

On visiting my grandmother, she is always complimentary about the care home she lives in. The staff are always helpful and nothing is too much trouble to assist with.
The management are extremely good and always help staff members on the floor if they require help. The head of activities and her team

My mother has been here at the nursing home since August 2017 and we (my 2 sisters and me) have been happy with her care. The staff are friendly and considerate. The food is good and the nursing staff are very helpful. The activities are very helpful in engaging the residents and are varied.

With one month of experience here in the care home, I can say that the place is not bad. There are always some improvement needed. All the staff have been excellent, lead very well. Kind, attentive and very patient with an element of humour at appropriate times. Their patience is extraordinary. Mum has been sorry that her appetite hasn't done the food justice! Garden is an important facility in my view.
Not cheap but we take
the view it's good value if mum has been as happy and comfortable as possible in the circumstances.

Our mother has been resident for two months to receive end of life care. The level of support and experience demonstrated has been first class - not only to the patient but also the family, who are not local. The standard of catering and range of activities available is noteworthy. The home feels like

I left the company for a short break and have now rejoined as HR and Finance Manager. I am passionate about building relationships with the residents here at Cherry Hinton and also the relatives who I have got to know over the years. I am looking forward to the future here at Cherry Hinton Care Home.

I began my journey as an Activities Coordinator and have since progressed into my current role which reflects my ongoing commitment to enhancing the wellbeing of our residents.


With a background in psychology and a strong passion for mental health, I am dedicated to creating a safe, inclusive and non-judgemental environment for both our residents and team members. I have a deep interest in understanding human behaviour and strive each day to build meaningful connections, ensuring that everyone in our care feels truly seen, heard and at home.


My role enables me to design and deliver person-centred wellbeing initiatives that are uplifting, purposeful and rooted in empathy. In addition, I am a certified Mental Health First Aider and proudly serve as a Community Engagement Champion helping to foster strong relationships between our home and the wider community.

The Head Housekeeper is responsible for managing the Housekeeping and Laundry Team.
The Head Housekeeper reports to the Hotel Services Manager. 
I joined TLC in 2023 as a Carer, I've progressed to Head Housekeeper. With seven years of hospitality experience, I'm dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and care. I ensure all regulatory standards are met and our housekeeping effectively supports the home's infrastructure.
