My mother's well being is of great importance to all the staff at the home. She is treated with consideration by everyone and has enjoyed getting to know the teams; however she has found the isolation from her family during lockdown hard. I have appreciated the special efforts made by the staff at the
home to relieve her sadness.
Reply from Shelly Prakash, Home Manager at Cherry Hinton Care HomeThank you for the wonderful feedback, it really is appreciated. The team at Cherry always try to go above and beyond in ensuring residents wellbeing. We look forward to seeing you soon.

The vibe I get is very good and I'm very pleased with all the carers that are looking after my dad. It is very good for myself and my dad to see each other all this time and I hope it will continue under the current circumstances. I've been informed that my dad is receiving various activities like individual
exercise, music activities etc. and I'm very grateful for carers and management for providing this.
Reply from Vimala Saraswathiamma, Home Manager at Cherry Hinton Care HomeMany thanks, Angelo for the recognition and appreciation. We at Cherry strive every day to make a difference to our resident's daily life and engage them as much as possible. Thanks once again.

Our father has been a resident for 1 year on 21st June 2020. The Staff carry out their work with the utmost love, compassion, dedication and commitment and never lose the well-being of their residents out of their sight. They take their time (even when it's sometimes short) to answer questions, offer
advice/suggestions, reassure, help or assist. They always have a smile on their faces and an open ear for concerns. The Home and its staff go above and beyond, they give their utmost, sometimes under demanding circumstances i.e. refurbishment, Covid-19, in an effort to make sure that our loved ones are safe, happy and contented. Thank you for this. The residents' physical and mental well-being is a priority. Food quality is "par-excellence". It is cooked fresh and of high nutritional value. Social activities/pastimes enlighten the residents' days. Your loved-one/friend and you will be met with love, compassion, support and beautiful surroundings.....what more could one wish for?

My mother was a resident at Cherry Hinton Nursing Home from December until February when she sadly passed away. Mum was very frail and deteriorating from the time she arrived from hospital but was very happy at Cherry Hinton and the care she received was fantastic. Mum was always treated with warmth
and respect by all the staff and her needs were attended to with care and efficiency. The staff were also most welcoming to all the family who visited and always acted upon any suggestions we had to enhance Mum's experience.

To say that my mother was very well looked after in Cherry Hinton Care Home is an understatement. All the staff went beyond expected standards. They were both professional and friendly. My mother built up strong friendships with many of them and they with her. My siblings and I were always made most
welcome every time we visited. We looked at many homes before choosing Cherry Hinton Care Home for our mother. My five siblings and I never doubted that we'd made the right choice.

The wonderful, caring and attentive staff at Cherry Hinton made the transition from independent home living into the required 24-hour care for my 90-year-old mother a much easier process than any of the family could possibly have imagined.
All members of staff - from management to cleaners - were
always very caring and positive.
At such a difficult time it is hard to describe how grateful we were to receive the love and support from so many people who in a short space of time had become trusted friends and who cared for my mother as if she was their own.
We always found the premises immaculately clean, the staff ready to help and nothing too much trouble.
If I could give a star rating it would undoubtedly be five star.

My mother was a resident at Cherry Hinton Care Home for just over two months before she died in February. We viewed many nursing homes in the area but did not feel any were quite right until we visited CHCH. We called unannounced and although the home manager was just about to leave for the day, she
did not hesitate to take off her coat and accompanied our visit immediately herself. Our mother was in personnel in her working life and social interaction was important to her. She also had a deep faith and we were reassured by the weekly bible study sessions and church services that were organised.
Throughout Mum's short stay, she was always made to feel very special indeed. She quickly built up a rapport with all the staff, many of whom would spend one to one time with her listening to classical music, reading to her and talking about her life and family. The care provided was first class and communication excellent. I would not hesitate to recommend CHCH. Thank you for all you did.

I have been a frequent visitor to this care home for over six years and am amazed at the transformation from a comfortable but rather shabby home to a 4 star hotel - well almost. Much careful thought and planning have gone into this renovation and no expense has been spared. Indeed it is almost lavishly
styled and nearly nicer than my own home!. This all assures us that our dearly loved ones are respected and nothing is too much trouble to make them really feel at home and valued. They are in safe hands, much to our profound relief in hands that are truly full of care, along with friendly, smiling faces. Praise all round and Amen!

Current Review Score: 10.0 (9.956)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 10 (9.956) out of 10 for Cherry Hinton Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 43 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 43 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.956 for Cherry Hinton Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (484 Excellents x 5) + (18 Goods x 4) + (2 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 504 Ratings = 4.956
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Cherry Hinton Care Home is based on 43 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 60 registered maximum number of service users is 12, which has been reached with 43 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

I am passionate about building relationships with the residents here at Cherry Hinton and also the relatives who I have got to know over the years. I am looking forward to the future here at Cherry Hinton Care Home.
