My dad went into Amberley Hall for end of life care on the 8th December 2020. I can honestly say my dad had the best care we could have asked for, the nurses and staff gave my dad the best care ever, they made our dad last 5 weeks the best they could have given him, the dignity they showed was amazing.
We were very lucky that we were able to go in and see my dad every day wearing the appropriate PPE and having a rapid covid test done. My dad passed away on the 15th Jan and I was really pleased his last 5 weeks as spent at Amberley.
Reply from Jenny Boulton, General Manager at Amberley Hall Care HomeHi Carole, it was an honour to take care of your father and be supportive to your family. Warmest regards, Jenny and all the Team at Amberley Hall.

Very poor care and communication, have to do things yourself if you want it done to the correct standard. So many changes of manager and staff which do not get told the full needs of residents. Also been slammed by CQC as being unsafe, would not use this home.

The carers were all very kind and caring and the rest of the staff were very friendly. Every effort was made to keep the Coronavirus at bay, with all staff changing on arrival and having their temperature taken. Activities obviously could not take place because of the lockdown but an effort was made
for a member of staff to visit individuals in their rooms for a chat. The lovely, well-kept gardens were very good to sit out and enjoy the sunshine. One thing lacking was a shelter for smokers in wet weather.

Overall very well cared for, all carers did very well in their care for me. No problems with anything at all. If the need arose for any reason I will consider coming to Amberley Hall again. The meals were too much of a big portion for me, small portions on a smaller plate will be better. Laughter is
what I did enjoy most and was a good part of my recovery care, it was good and therapeutic.

The care is great. The staff are very attentive and get to know the resident's individual preferences. The food is excellent which is very important to dad. Its great to have a variety of activities especially when they have all of the animals come in. Animals have a great effect on dad, keep it up.

I found the level of care and service to be first class. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Indeed, some of the staff went above and beyond the call of duty. I cannot praise them enough. There does, however, appear to be a shortage of physiotherapists because the physio was not always available
on a regular basis. The physiotherapists, themselves were very knowledgeable and dedicated, though overstretched at times. The discharge procedure could be improved, there were too many people involved and, as a result, I wasn't sure what was happening.
Reply from Joan Agcaoli, General Manager at Amberley Hall Care HomeThank you for your review and I am delighted to hear that you found the care team at Amberley Hall to be first class. We will, of course, feedback your comments to the CCG who place the physiotherapists in the Home and, as a result, are responsible for the discharge of residents under their care.

My dad was given a place at Amberley Hall in January 2019 after five weeks in hospital.
Amberley Hall is a very lovely place to be - a hotel with care!
My dad's room was bright, comfortable, warm and clean. He had all the facilities he needed.
The staff were always polite, professional and friendly,
efficient and extremely caring. The food was great.
Sadly my dad was only there for one week before he passed away but even his death was treated with great dignity and compassion.

The care has been amazing. The support I had received meant I was able to support my mother. I don't live in the area so I needed support. To be able to have my meals was a great help. The activities were very helpful to aid interaction and happiness. We were listened to and cared for which made us

I visit regularly, so not only do I see my husband but am getting to know the staff and other residents.
Overall I see the unit as a happy place with a good deal of care and interaction.
My special experience was a wonderful Valentine's Day experience for couples when we were invited to a wonderful
lunch, with balloons, a red rose and decorations.
The activities team had worked hard to give us a happy day - all with a smile.
When mobility is difficult this brought great happiness.
A welcome, warmth and good care are essential, all overseen by the manager.

Current Review Score: 9.6 (9.606)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.6 (9.606) out of 10 for Amberley Hall Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.6 out of 5 from 50 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 46 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.606 for Amberley Hall Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (417 Excellents x 5) + (108 Goods x 4) + (42 Satisfactorys x 3) + (8 Poors x 2) + (3 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 578 Ratings = 4.606
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Amberley Hall Care Home is based on 46 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 106 registered maximum number of service users is 21.2, which has been reached with 46 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Job Title: Home Manager Joined: 2025

Hello, my name is Blessy, and I am the Home Manager here at Amberley Hall.

From a very young age, I knew I wanted to help others, and that passion naturally led me into a career in healthcare. I began my nursing journey over 20 years ago at the highly respected Dr M.G. R. Medical University, Tamil Nadu, India. During this time, I specialised in Haematology and Operative Surgery within a multi-specialist hospital. One of my proudest achievements after obtaining my BSc in Nursing was progressing to Senior Lead Matron and becoming a course tutor for General Nursing.

I continued to build on my knowledge and experience by completing my MSc Mental Health Nursing, and once in the U.K, I went on to work as Clinical Lead and Deputy Manager at a well-regarded care home in Dulwich - further strengthening my commitment to delivering outstanding, person-centred care before moving to King's Lynn in the beautiful county of Norfolk.

Providing exemplary care is at the very heart of everything our team at Amberley Hall does. Nothing matters more to me than ensuring that every resident who makes Amberley Hall their home, or joins us for a short-term respite stay, receives the highest quality of care, dignity, and respect always.

I fully understand the trust that residents and their families place in us when they choose Amberley Hall, and I take this responsibility very seriously. It is a true privilege to get to know our residents and their families and friends, listen to their life stories, and share meaningful moments while creating happy memories in a warm and supportive environment.

If there is ever anything I can do to help, please do not hesitate to get in touch. My door is always open, my team and I will always do our very best to support you, and I look forward to welcoming you to Amberley Hall very soon!

From an early age, I knew that caring for others was my true calling, and supporting people to live with dignity, comfort, and respect has always been my greatest motivation. In 2021, I moved to the UK to further my career and worked as a Lead Nurse and Peripatetic Deputy Manager for one of the country’s largest care providers, specialising in elderly residential, dementia, and nursing care. This experience allowed me to broaden my leadership skills while continuing to focus on delivering compassionate and person-centred care.

I strongly believe that dignity, kindness, and empathy are the foundations of excellent care, and as Deputy Manager here at Amberley Hall I am incredibly proud to support and mentor such a dedicated team! Every single one of us is committed and driven to ensure that all residents at our home receive outstanding care every single day and always.
