My husband was very anxious about having to go into a care home after having a leg injury but the staff were reassuring and caring and he soon settled down. The care was excellent and nothing was too much trouble, even when he wanted different options to what was on the menu.

My friend was well supported by the manager and her team. Our questions and queries were answered and the manager's door was always open.

The unit staff were welcoming and offered us privacy to meet our friend.

All of the carers are very lovely and are always very helpful with my grandad whenever I need then whilst I'm visiting they are very attentive. The coffee section is very useful as I always take my grandad there when I visit and gives him a little change of scenery.
Thank you for all of your care
and help with grandad.

Care provided for my mother excellent, staff and team leaders are kind and knowledgeable.

My only negatives are: There is often a lack of staff. I have seen team leaders cooking breakfast as well as dispensing drugs and giving one on one support.

The staff is constantly changing.

Reply from Susan Scarlett, Generla Manager Amberley at Amberley Hall Care HomeThank you for your comments which we appreciate. We try very hard to keep regular staff on each community, however, there are times when this is not possible. Regarding the team leaders cooking breakfast, this was during the time when work was being carried out on the main kitchen.

After eleven weeks in hospital, I eventually arrived at Amberley Hall. The medication team are amazing and I made a huge leap forward in just eleven days! All the carers were patient and understanding as I settled in and got used to the routine sampling some of the many activities on offer. I loved
my first week in the grounds admiring the beautiful planting, the handiwork of the dedicated gardeners. I put on much-needed weight from the excellent meals. The rooms are very comfortable, cleaned daily, our washing done overnight!...and a hairdresser on site if required. We are safe and secure with the tireless maintenance staff. It is the manager and her team who set the tone throughout the home. They go the extra mile to help families along the journey.

All staff and helpers very friendly, cheerful, kind and helpful but more are needed. At night, one trained staff member with young carer is not sufficient for 20 rooms. I felt concerned if ant emergency arose.
The room is comfortable and the food really excellent. 16 days of varied menus and tasty
meals, got me back on my feet.

Efficient, caring and friendly. Good range of activities and various lounges and the different area dining rooms were well laid out and very inviting. Mum loved her carers, who were all caring, compassionate and fully involved in her care.
Mum really enjoyed her meals, and I must say they looked
very appetising! Before Mum had her respite care she was very reluctant to go, however, she is now looking forward to her return visit - what better recommendation could you have!

My father was at Amberley Hall Care Home for respite while my mum had an operation but the operation was cancelled due to hospital pressures but my dad stayed in for his two weeks as he has early stages of vascular dementia. He was cared for so lovely and he enjoyed the company of staff and other residents.
The home is spotless and has a great manager and great staff.

My mother in law died on the 3rd February. Her care had been wonderful and the consideration to her next of kin in the week leading up to her death was very supportive. Mum had been at Amberley for 3 years and all the staff had shown high levels of care and concern and gave mum dignity in her last years.
Everyone from the receptionist to the nurses and management should be congratulated on a well-run care home.

Dad was transferred to Amberley Hall from hospital. He had many issues and many medical problems. After an initial, very distressing 'settling in', he quietened down and although there were still moments due to his behaviour and claustrophobia, these became less frequent.

The staff and management

team treated him respectuflly and always had time to talk. He passed away peacefully after a six week stay.

A great care home with a lovely family feel, all the staff from managers to DIY men know my dads name and say hello every time they see him (he loves that).
The staff work so hard to keep the home clean and residents comfortable. The food is always fresh home cooked and healthy, and his clothes are
always washed dried and back in his wardrobe by the next day. It is hard to put your parents in a home but I can honestly say although there were a few teething problems at first, that I am now so happy that he is here safe and well looked after. The cafe is a lovely touch and we use it every day.

Amberley Hall care home is in a very quiet location. It is very well equipped and efficiently run by hard working staff who are friendly and caring. I stayed for a two-week respite break following surgery to remove a cancerous growth. If my cancer is found to be malignant requiring a course of chemotherapy
I would certainly stay again at Amberley Hall.

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.6 (9.579) out of 10 for Amberley Hall Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.6 out of 5 from 45 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 41 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.579 for Amberley Hall Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (364 Excellents x 5) + (112 Goods x 4) + (36 Satisfactorys x 3) + (8 Poors x 2) + (3 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 523 Ratings = 4.579
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Amberley Hall Care Home is based on 41 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 106 registered maximum number of service users is 21.2, which has been reached with 41 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Job Title: Home Manager Joined: 2025

Hello, my name is Blessy, and I am the Home Manager here at Amberley Hall.

From a very young age, I knew I wanted to help others, and that passion naturally led me into a career in healthcare. I began my nursing journey over 20 years ago at the highly respected Dr M.G. R. Medical University, Tamil Nadu, India. During this time, I specialised in Haematology and Operative Surgery within a multi-specialist hospital. One of my proudest achievements after obtaining my BSc in Nursing was progressing to Senior Lead Matron and becoming a course tutor for General Nursing.

I continued to build on my knowledge and experience by completing my MSc Mental Health Nursing, and once in the U.K, I went on to work as Clinical Lead and Deputy Manager at a well-regarded care home in Dulwich - further strengthening my commitment to delivering outstanding, person-centred care before moving to King's Lynn in the beautiful county of Norfolk.

Providing exemplary care is at the very heart of everything our team at Amberley Hall does. Nothing matters more to me than ensuring that every resident who makes Amberley Hall their home, or joins us for a short-term respite stay, receives the highest quality of care, dignity, and respect always.

I fully understand the trust that residents and their families place in us when they choose Amberley Hall, and I take this responsibility very seriously. It is a true privilege to get to know our residents and their families and friends, listen to their life stories, and share meaningful moments while creating happy memories in a warm and supportive environment.

If there is ever anything I can do to help, please do not hesitate to get in touch. My door is always open, my team and I will always do our very best to support you, and I look forward to welcoming you to Amberley Hall very soon!

Hello, my name is Arun, and I am the Deputy Manager here at Amberley Hall.

From an early age, I knew that caring for others was my true calling, and supporting people to live with dignity, comfort, and respect has always been my greatest motivation. I obtained my BSc in General Nursing in India, specialising in Intensive Care Nursing, which helped develop my strong clinical knowledge and skills in delivering high-quality care.

In 2021, I moved to the UK to further my career and worked as a Lead Nurse and Peripatetic Deputy Manager for one of the country’s largest care providers, specialising in elderly residential, dementia, and nursing care. This experience allowed me to broaden my leadership skills while continuing to focus on delivering compassionate and person-centred care.

I strongly believe that dignity, kindness, and empathy are the foundations of excellent care, and as Deputy Manager here at Amberley Hall I am incredibly proud to support and mentor such a dedicated team! Every single one of us is committed and driven to ensure that all residents at our home receive outstanding care every single day and always.
