I would recommend Amberley Hall without hesitation. I am so grateful to the staff here for the professional care, guidance and unstinting support they have offered both me and my mother throughout her physical and mental decline over the past 18 months. It is a huge relief to know she is in safe hands,
being looked after by kind, friendly, polite, diligent and unerringly patient people. The carers are consistently aware of how my mother is doing each day, very much cater for her idiosyncrasies and always find time (in no doubt a busy day) to discuss any concerns or issues I may choose to raise.


I simply don't know how I would have coped without them.

On the whole, the home has a relaxed and convivial atmosphere. As with most things in life, the devil is in the detail. One can only assess the package on short visits, but seen nothing to raise alarm bells.
Minor issues are; Clothing is not put away, toiletries run down (who replaces them when family
is not around)??
Some missing items not reported to family.
Outer excursions seemed to have stopped?
Not an easy one, but the continuity of staff is vital - able to respond proactively where issues arise. "Know your client".

The carers are very hard working and attentive towards all residents. Constant care and support is issued to a very high standard with family members being made very welcome. I witness the standard of the food on a weekly basis, it is a very high-quality menu with a range of options available. Cleanliness
is very important at Amberley Hall, therefore, cleaners attend to all rooms on a daily basis, leaving all rooms cleaned to a very high standard. Although only three topics have been mentioned my experience has allowed me to witness all areas and I believe that Amberley Hall takes care and pride with all aspects.

My mother has vascular dementia. I cannot describe how since becoming a resident at Amberley, her quality of life has improved. The staff go out of their way to stimulate her physically and mentally. That includes all the staff, from managers to the domestics.

Professional, loving care from specialist staff on the Sandringham Way palliative care wing. We arrived as a family severely traumatised by a dreadful hospital experience, aware that mums time was far shorter than it should have been.
Both my mum and I were cared for, understood and made as comfortable
as possible for mum's remaining days. I'm only sorry it wasn't for the period of time it could have been, if the hospital had behaved better. Thank you all, for everything you did for us.

My dad was admitted late one evening in early February as he was in the final stage of terminal cancer and needed more medical care than we could give at home. He was well looked after up until his sad death a few days later. One nurse, in particular, was fantastic with him and they built up a great
rapport and she cared about us as well and was a great support to us.

Very spacious and well-equipped room, always very clean. The care the staff show is incredible and genuinely care about the patients. Made my father's last days the best they could.

My dad only stayed in Amberley Hall for one night as he was put in there from hospital for end of life care. It was a lovely peaceful environment and he was treated with dignity and respect at all times. The staff were lovely and friendly and you could have tea and coffee when you wanted to. I feel
that my dad felt comfortable enough to let go in Amberley Hall and died very peacefully in the end. I'm glad he passed away in there and not in hospital.

We cannot imagine a better palliative care service that could have been provided for our Mum in her final weeks. From minute one of day one Mum and the family were made to feel welcome and the Team reassured us that nothing that will happen in the coming days and weeks will be a problem that they haven't
seen before and can't be dealt with. Mum was not the easiest of patients to care for as she was independent and very determined. She also had a very dry and mischievous sense of humour which takes a while to become accustomed to, but the team certainly rose to the challenge. To their credit, for a lady that would verdantly protest about hospitalisation and any form of care; Mum settled in and never complained about being there. Nothing was too much trouble for the team at Amberley Hall. Mum loved her food and always looked forward to the excellent meals and assistance to eat it. I am convinced that Mum fought on so long because of the caring environment that was created for her.

After a foot operation I spent two weeks convalescing in Amberley Hall, I was made welcome and settled. All staff were professional, competent and friendly and the care I received was first class. The accommodation was very comfortable, spacious enough for walking frame and wheelchair use. Any help
I needed with things like organising transport to a hospital appointment or acquiring equipment was always available. I was well looked after in every way. I was helped and encouraged to gain as much independence as possible so that I was confident to return home.

My father was a resident here for 14 months. The home was going through a change of ownership at the time and the administration/management was very poor. We were never kept informed about anything and had to keep asking questions about medication and never had a review of my father the whole time he
was there. As a family we became very concerned with the care when we often found dad in a soiled bed and on occasions wearing nothing but a T-shirt and pants. A lot of his clothes went missing and the residents were often left alone in the main lounge while the 'care' team were all chatting together in other areas. Overall there was a 'can't be bothered' attitude, I think the carers were too young, they had no empathy with old people. We have since moved dad to an excellent care home where the difference is amazing. The cost of this home, being in a small town in Norfolk, is far too high for that area of the country. My father is now on the outskirts of London and the cost is virtually the same.

My experience at Amberley Hall is somewhat wonderful. The staff in all stages of work are the most reliable and friendly one could ever imagine. The hard work they all do for everyone is remarkable. I can only describe it all as being like belonging to a large busy happy family doing their very best
to all concerned. The environment is superb very clean and attractive. My words don't seem enough just to say Thank you, but I am so grateful for all the professional help that has been given to me. Many thanks for everything to all!!

Our grandfather was only at Amberley Hall for a short time as he was very poorly. The staff were I can only say "amazing". They treated him with dignity and respect and throughout his time there, they were constantly in touch with his progress. Even right up until his passing the staff continued to
not only look after him but us as a family as well. All the staff we spoke to from the reception team even from the maintenance team and care nurses were truly 5 star. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts we will be forever in your debt.
