Over all time Overbury House has 90 reviews.
My mother has dementia, is bed bound and is well looked after by all the staff who always greet me and have a smile on their faces. The staff are very polite and helpful nothing is too much trouble.
Thank you for your lovely comments, I am so glad to hear the greet you with a smile
Our Mum spent her final few weeks at Overbury House, the staff were courteous and caring and nothing was too much trouble. All questions were answered with informative information and knowledge. The cleanliness of the home and our mum's room was always spotless.
In her final few hours she was treated with the dignity she deserved and the Care Home Manager came and offered her condolences as did some of the other staff which was very kind.
We cannot comment on the food facilities other than the portions seemed generous.
thank you for your lovely comments, i will share with my staff
The manager has gone above and beyond to get my mum and together in the home. Turned one room into a double room for them and turned the other into a private lounge for them to continue their journey of 68 years together. Maintenance mark is super efficient and jolly and all the staff have been very attentive in what is an unsettling experience s for them.
When I chose Overbury House and read the profiles, I was confident my wife would be well looked after, I am happy because she is. After looking after her for over 11 years on my own I now visit the home being greeted by residents, feeling part of a family.
thank you for your lovely comments , I am glad you are happy with the care at Overbury
Your staff are a joy to know, so polite friendly love coning to visit mum also enjoy seeing my grandson, can be a handful and full of life mum loves that too. Thank you for bringing my mum back to us x
Thank you for your lovely comments, Its a pleasure to care for her
My husband is warm, clean and well fed at all times. The staff and carers take great care of my husband, they are smiling and jolly. Because he is deaf they make sure his requests are met by talking to him by writing everything down for him. Myself and family are pleased my husband is cared for at Overbury House.
Harold was asked to leave his previous home because of his challenging behaviour, and I was getting worried, thinking no other home would accommodate him. However, Overbury House accepted and made adjustments to manage his nighttime wanderings. Overbury puts the needs of the residents first and gives them time to adjust. My husband is settling in, and I have some peace of mind for the first time in five months.
Thank you for your review , as a team we work hard to help residents settle in and always here to support their families
We were greeted by the staff on arrival who went out of their way to make Dad feel welcome - as usual I was juggling an awful lot of things on the day and their "nothings too much trouble" attitude really helped.
Dad, myself and my black Labrador Honey were given a tour of the facilities before I handed Dad over to their care.
On my return a week later Dad was having so much fun he refused to come home with me and demanded an extra night which he duly had.
I returned the following day and was met by the activities and wellbeing coordinator. What can I say, she is clearly a force of nature and fully invested in her role and proceeded to show me photo after photo of Dads activities in my absence- to be honest I will struggle to compete now he is home but I feel it will not be long before Dad will be back.
Thank you for your lovely comments, we are so glad your dad enjoyed his stay with us. we look forward to welcoming you all back in the future
It was a very difficult time for me in hospital, however, when I came to Overbury House, everything turned around for the better. All the staff without exception are fantastic and helped to turn my health around. I will be forever grateful and will miss everyone now I am ready to go home.
thank you for your lovely comments , i am glad you enjoyed your stay with us
My brother-in-law was admitted to Overbury House after a lengthy stay in hospital. Immediately, I felt that they knew him and what care was required. The whole feel of the place is homely, the staff are very friendly and welcoming and always have time to say hello with a smile. Nothing seems to be too much trouble.
Thank you so much, Overbury House.
Thank you so much for your lovely comments, I am so proud to hear comments like this.
I am very happy with Overbury House. Everybody is very good at their jobs. They are kind and cannot do enough for you. The meals are very good, I don't think you could get a better place for any body to stay.
My dad was in the best place in the world at Overbury House care home. He loved all the staff dearly, as do I and my family, and they have become our extended family. Nothing was ever too much trouble for the manager or her team, they made time to pop in and chat to Dad and went well above and beyond. I am truly proud to have had my dad cared for by Overbury House. The love and care they give to their residents is second to none and even though my dad is no longer with us, there's no other place I'd rather be on Christmas Day than with them.
My father-in-law was with Overbury House for 26 months. The care in this home is beyond anything else I have sever seen. The carers are all amazing and provide such loving care. The manager and the rest of the Overbury Team are truly amazing. They have become our extended family and having lost my father-in-law, we will keep in touch because they are all truly amazing people. Nothing is too much trouble and despite a busy environment, they all have time for us always.
Although his stay with you was short before his passing, the care and attention he received was wonderful. This extended all the way through the home, cleaning staff, carers, nurses and management all treated him and us as his family with compassion and respect.
We have no hesitation in recommending Overbury House for anyone seeking a home for their loved ones.
Thank you for your lovely comments, I will ensure the staff read it, was a pleasure to care for your dad.
My father-in-law was lucky enough to be offered a place at Overbury in August 2024, unfortunately, he was suffering from terminal cancer, and we were struggling to care for him at home, to be honest, neither us nor himself wanted him to leave our home and therefor although he agreed it was under protest and was very cantankerous at the beginning of his residency there. Fortunately, within two weeks the care given won him around and settled in and made friends with virtually all the staff. The care, support, and communication both ways were excellent and we felt we were still a part of his care package and this gave us peace of mind. We could visit whenever we wanted (including the family dog) and stay however long we wanted to, we were always made to feel welcome and everyone was very sociable with us and our father. Unfortunately, he passed in November, very peacefully and very respectfully, again the staff helped us through that process completely, which we are thankful for.
The care my dad received was amazing from every member of staff. I can't fault anyone. From the very first day, it was clear to see that my dad would receive the love and care he so deserved in my dad's final days. All staff went above and beyond to preserve his dignity and keep him as comfortable as possible. They spent so much time taking him, so he wasn't afraid. Even when they finish their shift. The love and care at Overbury House is outstanding. Thank you so much to every single person, you are amazing.
Since my mother came to the home approx 16 months ago, we have only seen love and care given to her freely by all the staff and carers, with excellent care given, still giving her respect and keeping her dignity as best as they can possibly can for her. Staff here are simply brilliant.
Nobody wants their parent to 'go into a home', however all my fears and worries were for nothing. The whole team at Overbury House could not have been more welcoming to my Mum. She settled into her new environment quicker than I expected, given her dementia, and I am sure this is due to the care and kindness shown to her. All the little bumps along the way have been dealt with, with care and compassion, keeping us informed at all times. Overbury House is an older house, which lends to its lovely character and charm. It has a really homely feel about it, with a lovely garden, Mum loves her room, and they are more than happy for personal items to be brought in, including pictures for the wall etc. I cannot be more pleased having found this care home for my Mum. I can honestly say I do not worry about my Mum when I am not there as I know she is receiving the best care we could ask for. I would not hesitate to recommend this facility to anyone. Thank you Overbury House.
thank you so much for your lovely comments, it makes all our hard work worth to hear such amazing feedback.
I find the manager and staff very helpful and friendly. Mum is well cared for and she loves her room and all the staff.
Thank you for your lovely comments, I will ensure I pass it on to the staff.

Meet the Team (2)

Alison decided to work at Healthcare Homes as she had heard amazing things about them and how they are expanding their company and it was something she wanted to be a part of.
Prior to starting at Overbury House, Alison has been an RGN for 13 years and has worked in the health care settings for 25 years. She worked at a Nursing home in North Walsham where she was the manager for 2 years.
She believes to be good in her role she should have good leadership skills, be compassionate, caring, understanding, experienced in health care and have qualifications.
The favourite part of her working day is when the residents are up and around, looking happy and content.
The biggest professional challenge in her career to date was assisting my last home in receiving a good rating across the board. There have been many challenges as a home manager but with a good team, they can be overcome.
Her biggest career highlight to date was completing her nursing degree and working her way up to Home Manager.
The qualities she thinks make a good home manager are being open and honest, supporting residents and staff, ensuring the residents receive a high standard of care.
Outside of work she loves spending time with her family. Her favourite past time is taking her two children and dog to the beach.
The things she is looking forward to the most about working at Overbury House is getting to know the residents and their families, ensuring all residents receive the best care and achieving a CQC rating of outstanding as I feel Overbury deserves it.

My biggest career highlight was the recognition of hard work and dedication and being promoted to Deputy Manager.
I enjoy all of my working day; the most rewarding part is being able to make a resident smile. I enjoy the day to day challenges of the job. Being able to make a difference to a resident’s day is most rewarding.
