My mother was a resident at Swanton House for a year until her recent death. What an amazing place - caring and compassionate staff and nothing was too much trouble. I live a considerable distance away so it was a great comfort to know that she was well cared for in a safe and secure environment. Staff go above and beyond to care for residents. My mother had dementia and when taken into hospital by ambulance a member of staff went with her and waited until I arrived some time later. A confusing and traumatic time was made much easier for both her and for me. Swanton House staff are truly outstanding and we will forever be grateful to them for the care of my mother in her final year.
My Mum was moved into Swanton Care Home in August 2024, this was following a stay in hospital due to constant falling, myself and my sister were really worried about her moving into another care home which was further away from us, as Mum's first experience in a care home was not good. However, we needn't have been worried, the care Mum has received has been exemplary, she has really settled and it is clear she has received excellent care. Mum's room is wonderful, she has a kitchenette area and her own wet room. The food is really very good. The grounds that the home sit in our simply beautiful. Lastly, the staff are excellent, all friendly and clearly love their roles. Seeing Mum interact with them is testament to this. Special thanks to Bluebell's manager, a truly wonderful lady. My mum is living with advanced dementia, she is physically very able and wanders, the home manages this perfectly. A wonderful care home, set in wonderful surroundings with wonderful staff.
The atmosphere and welcome have always been the same and the continuity of staff at all levels is amazing, always a welcome smile and our 'resident' is looked after with love and attention.
The carers have coped well with several trips to the hospital which I was allowed to be part of and was happy to return to this good care home.
Food - Outstanding - My Mum's meals are always beautifully presented and designed entirely to meet her nutritional needs.
Cleanliness - Outstanding - The whole house is neat, clean and tidy. It is homely and welcoming.
Laundry - Outstanding - My Mum's clothes are always beautifully laundered.
Care - Outstanding - The staff are everything you could wish for and more.
Compassion - Outstanding - The staff treat us as their family.
Safety - Outstanding. I know my mum is always safe - I trust every member of staff without question.
If your loved one needs care, do not hesitate to visit Birch House. It truly is filled with love and care.
My wife has been a resident at Swanton House for around eighteen months. Her medical condition has meant that she has needed a great deal of skilful attention and care. I have really appreciated the very conscientious and caring way the staff have looked after her. They are helpful and friendly and nothing is too much trouble.
