A big thank you to the lovely team at Woodside House. From the moment we left my dad in your care I've been impressed with the care and professionalism of everyone working there. I have every confidence he will be treated with dignity and empathy at all times. Thank you again.
Thank you for taking the time to write such a lovely review, I will share this with all the staff.
Fabulous care home, Mum has settled in really well & it's such a relief knowing that she's being well cared for. The Staff are all wonderful & treat Mum with dignity & respect. We visit Mum regularly & all staff are always polite & friendly to us all. The activity team are fantastic & there's always activities going on, which Mum enjoys. I cannot find fault with the care home & being a care home manager myself I would raise an issue if there were any.
Thank you for such a lovely review, I will share your kind words with all the staff.
The manageress, receptionist and admin lady are all beyond helpful as is the maintenance man and nursing staff....all a credit to your company.
Thank you for taking the time to write such a lovely review, we will share this with all our staff.
Since my dad's move to Woodside, he has gone from have an existence, to having a life with meaning, hapiness and hope. Before we both moved to Norwich, just over 3 months ago, our lives had been filled with stress, grief and a bleak outlook to our future. We both now feel fully settled in our respective homes and due to the wonderful staff, he has a life that is not only safe, but enjoyable and interesting. Both his mental and physical needs are prioritised on a daily basis, this is due to wonderful, empathetic, caring staff and a system that ensures things run so smoothly. We have peace of mind and hope and you cannot realise how much it means to us both!!
Thank you for taking the time to write such a lovely review of our home. It has been an absolute pleasure to get to know Dad and his loved ones.
Just wanted to say a massive thank you to everyone at Woodside for making Christmas so special for Mum! Arranging for the mini-donkeys to visit Mum in her room was amazing and really seemed to bring back her sparkle! It encouraged her to get up again and meant that I was able to join her for Christmas dinner in the dining room. Thank you so much.
Thank you for such a lovely review, it was a great Christmas. I will pass your lovely comments on to the staff.
First Christmas for mum at Woodside, what a lovely day it was - all the staff worked hard to make sure everyone was looked after, residents and visitors, festive cheer was shared, nothing was too much trouble - what a great team - thank you
Thank you for such a lovely review, we had a great time with all our residents, friends, families and staff. I will pass this on to all staff.
Always a friendly welcome along with updates on Mums wellbeing. Compassionate care is visable to my mum and all residents.
Thank you so much for such a lovely review, I will share it with the team.
My mother stayed at Woodside Care Home for a short respite in August 2025. As her daughter, I found the experience disappointing and concerning. Staff assessed her as having full mental capacity. Yet, she was later found to be pre-diabetic and showing signs of anxiety and memory loss - clear indicators of early cognitive decline. After three days of being anxious, she left the facility on her own. I was not informed of her decision or departure, and only learned she was home afterward. It's deeply troubling that a resident would be discharged without notifying her next of kin, who holds full power of attorney. I hope this feedback prompts improvements in communication and safeguarding protocols.
Thanks for taking the time to leave us a review. We're sorry you found your Mothers stay at Woodside House Care Home disappointing. Our General Manager took time to understand your Mothers concerns and understood that she found it to soon to be in a home with nursing care. An assessment was...
It's wonderful to know that my relative is happy and content. I have 100% trust that the kindness shown by staff is consistent even when visitors are not present.
The activity staff are fantastic. Lots of variation in activities to suit all levels of care needs and lovely personalities, engaging with the relatives all the time.
It's the best decision we've made as a family to move our relative to Woodside House.
Thank you for such a lovely review, I will share this with the whole team we really appreciate your feedback.
The family found the staff and home 1st class.
This is a lovely home, very clean and very friendly. Staff is very attentive.
Both my parents were residents of Woodside House. My father passed away at the end of last year & my mother continues to live there. It is a wonderfully caring place with lovely facilities but more importantly caring and invested people with the manager at the hub of these values and behaviours. My father was restricted to bed and was care for and supported in all his needs and my mother always describes everyone as lovely & is happy!
Thank you for such lovely feedback, I will ensure is it shared with all the staff.
Outstanding service so helpful and friendly give you all the support that you need 10/10. Can't thank Woodside enough for the support and care they give for mum (thank you).
Thank you for such lovely feedback, it is our pleasure to care for your Mum. I will ensure that your review is shared with all staff.
In a few words, its a good as my second home. The staff are all wonderful.
Thank you for your lovely words, I will share them with all of the staff.
Thankyou!
Thank you for your lovely review, I will share this with the staff.
When my brother first arrived he found it difficult to settle. But the whole team never gave up on him, trying to find ways to engage him, working out the times of day when he needed more support.
Now he feels supported and enjoys being with his carer, often stopping them on the corridor to tell them he likes them.
He is involved in activities which are new to him. He is much calmer and settled. He loves to walk outside. When the warmer weather arrives he will be able to take more advantage of this.
I could not wish for a better place for my brother to live.
Thank you for such a lovely review, it is a pleasure to care for your brother and we are so happy we have been able to work together to help him settle into his new home. I will share your lovely feedback with the team.
The run up to Christmas was a very special time, with loads of activities for all to get involved in. The home looked so pretty too, with numerous Christmas trees and decorations, groups of school children entertaining the residents with their singing. It was wonderful.
The staff were so caring and compassionate when my husband was at end of life, they treated him with love, very attentive, always making sure he was comfortable. They looked after us brilliantly, as a family, during this sad time, nothing we asked for was too much trouble. I will always be grateful for their care and dedication.
My experience at Barchester Woodside House Care Home has been exceptional, they are a credit to the Barchester group.
It was such a pleasure caring for your husband. Thank you for such a lovely review, I will share this with all the staff.

Meet the Team (10)

My name is Sarah, and I am proud to be the General Manager here at Woodside House.
I am an experienced nurse and care home manager, having spent many years with both the NHS and Barchester. I love working for Barchester and leading the team at Woodside House in the care and support of residents to provide first-class service that meets their individual needs. We have a truly lovely home and a fantastic team.
My vision is to create a 'home from home' environment, where residents are actively involved in organising events, making decisions, and planning their care.
Our door is always open to visitors who want to experience our family-friendly atmosphere, and I am always ready to speak to anyone who is starting to explore their future care needs.

I am a General Nurse and a naturally positive, happy person with a genuine caring nature. Originally from Romania, I am now well settled into life here in Norfolk.
My journey with Woodside House began in 2003 when I joined as a Senior Carer. I registered with the NMC as a nurse in 2006 and progressed to Unit Manager on Memory Lane. In 2018, I moved to the NHS, where I spent eight years working on Dementia Assessment wards. Recently, I felt it was time to return to where my heart has always been—back to Woodside House.
I hope to bring my skills, knowledge, and experience to support the team, especially newer staff, and to continue providing dedicated, compassionate care to our residents. I aim to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those who call Woodside House their home.

My name is Amy, and I joined Woodside House in 2011 as a Registered General Nurse. Now, I am the Head of Unit for our Willow and Sycamore communities.
I am responsible for ensuring that all of my residents receive the highest standards of care and are treated with the level of dignity and respect that I would want for my family to receive. We have a very experienced team, and several of the staff have been here for many years and are great friends with the residents.
We love welcoming new residents and helping them to join our little community. Each new person brings their own personality to the mix, and it is wonderful to see everyone making new friends as they settle in.

My Name is Nono I have been a Nurse since 2001 originally in my home county of Botswana. I moved to the UK in 2005 and started working in a care home in Dereham. I worked as a Nurse caring for older people before becoming deputy manager in 2012. I moved to Woodside House in February 2023 after hearing of the home's excellent reputation. I have completed my end-of-life enhanced training with the NHS team and I have completed my level 5 Diploma in adult care.
I am now really enjoying the challenge of leading the memory lane community at Woodside House.

Sally is the home's Administrator and joined us in January 2018. Her role involves supporting the General Manager and taking responsibility for all the financial and administrative aspects of the home.

My name is Sam, and I lead our Activities Team at Woodside House.
I have been at Woodside House since 2004, and I love it here. I am responsible for ensuring that the residents are able to participate in sociable, fun and rewarding activities. My team and I are very passionate about our work and love putting smiles on the residents' faces.
We involve the residents in the planning of our activity calendars and encourage residents to continue with the hobbies that they have enjoyed throughout their lives. We will support every resident to try new things, and we love learning from our residents every day.

My name is Kim and I am proud to run the kitchen team here at Woodside House.
I am responsible for providing a top class dining experience and ensuring that the menus reflect the high standards that every resident should enjoy. I am constantly speaking with residents to find out what foods they prefer, the way they like things presented and how I can make every meal a great experience.
Working with the care staff to ensure each resident's unique dietary requirements are met, is just one of the ways that my kitchen team support the health and well-being of our residents. I spend time with each new resident to ensure that my team and I are aware of their preferences and favourites when they first move in to Woodside.

My name is Kelly and I am the Head of Housekeeping here at Woodside House.
My responsibilities include leading our housekeeping team to making sure that the home is spotlessly clean at all times. We take care of all aspects of housekeeping so that our residents can relax and know that everything is taken care of for them

Hi, my name is Scott and I am responsible for ensuring that every aspect of Health and Safety has been observed.
I also ensure that everything is working well and Woodside House remains well-maintained and presented 'home-from-home.' I am always ready to help a resident to rearrange their room or put a new picture up on the wall.
Residents are always welcome to join me in pottering in the garden.

Alice started working in Woodside House when she left school in 2008. She has carried out a number of roles over the years including kitchen assistant, housekeeping, laundry and since 2023 our Administration Assistant. Alice doesn’t feel that any other job could compare as Woodside is like home. She loves being the first face everyone sees when they arrive and loves welcoming everyone to the home that she is very proud to show off.
