Rated Outstanding by the CQC (November 2022), Brandon Park is a nursing and residential care home set within Brandon Country Park in Suffolk, with woodland and parkland giving residents open space and natural light rarely found this close to a town centre.

The home is substantial, with wide corridors and generous communal areas, and sits a short walk from the duck pond and independent coffee shop, with Brandon town centre close by. Residents in the Redwood and Cedar suites look out over the parkland, and the enclosed garden offers safe, accessible outdoor space year round.

The Maple Memory Centre is a dedicated dementia environment within the home, with a consistent specialist team and routines built around each person's history and interests. Access to the park and gardens is part of daily life here, giving residents a rhythm many find meaningful.

Accommodation spans three suite levels, each comfortable and well furnished, with double rooms for couples. Large hallways and an accessible layout suit residents with mobility needs, and suites can be personalised. The home is pet friendly, and visiting is open any time, no booking needed.

Meals are freshly prepared on site each day, with dietary needs and preferences catered for. A GP visits every Friday morning and a chiropodist every other Thursday, with dental, optician and physiotherapy appointments arranged as needed.

The activities team runs a weekly programme of group sessions, including bingo, word games and quizzes, alongside one to one time built around personal interests. Live entertainment, including Zumba and keep fit, takes place twice monthly, and a hairdresser visits every Tuesday.

Outstanding ratings were given for Caring, Responsive and Well-Led, and registered nurses are on site around the clock.

In the 2026 family survey, 83% of families said their relative feels safe here, describing a team whose care was evident on every visit.

I have already submitted a review, but since then my mother has moved from the main home setting to the new Memory Centre at Brandon Park. She has dementia and was finding the main care home routine frustrating. She is relatively fit and healthy and needed to be able to do things that were 'normal'
for her at home, but were simply not possible in a general care home setting, such as helping with the washing up, making a hot drink etc. The Memory Centre allows my Mother the freedom to have a say in what she does, as the daily routine is more relaxed. If she wants a lie-in and a late breakfast, she can! The staff are extremely attentive, but at a distance so the residents feel they are more in control of what they do and when. My mother has gone from strength to strength at the Memory Centre, with the close attention of all the brilliant staff. She is happier than I could ever have expected her to be and I put this down to the excellent care the staff in the Memory Centre give her.
Reply from Eve Fynn, Marketing and Communications Lead at Brandon ParkThank you so much for taking the time to leave us such a wonderful review. We are so pleased to hear how well your mother is doing at the Maple Memory Centre and your comments mean a great deal to the team. Warm regards.

My mother moved to the Maple Memory Centre at Brandon Park, when it had just started taking family members in June 2021. We were very impressed with the philosophy of the Maple Memory Centre and felt that this would enable her to be as independent as she would like to be. The staff are brilliant and
work consistently hard to meet the needs of the family members and to encourage them to do as much for themselves as they can (or are happy to do), to maintain interests, skills and mobility, showing great patience and empathy. The Maple Memory Centre, homemakers, family members and their families, are like a real family unit. As well as some planned activities, staff observe the family members and will then find activities that that person enjoys doing. My Mother has cooked, gone for walks (with a stop at the cafe for a cuppa), done gardening, washed and dried dishes and much, much more. The staff are well trained and I enjoy my visits greatly to see Mum and everyone at the Maple Memory Centre.
Reply from Eve Fynn, Marketing and Communications Lead at Brandon ParkWe are always so pleased to hear how well our residents are doing and cannot thank you enough for leaving us such a positive review. My mother went into Brandon Park Nursing Home in December 2019 after being unable to go home after a stay in hospital as she could no longer be left alone. It was a very hard decision as she had been so independent prior to her hospital stay. The manager and her team assured us that she would be well
looked after which she was. She had a number of health issues and was not expected to live long. The care she had was excellent and she did not want to take part in the activities but with persuasion by the carers, she eventually did and really looked forward to taking part. March 2020 Covid decided to make an appearance and a very tough time for everyone. My mother struggled with lockdown as she was used to seeing us regularly. The staff were very good and made sure that she kept in touch with us and she would always say they were her extended family. Sadly my mother passed away in October but grateful we were with her at the end. Thank you to everybody who made her final months comfortable.
Reply from Eve Fynn, Marketing and Communications Lead at Brandon ParkThank you for your very kind words and for taking the time to leave us such a warm and positive review. Your comments mean a lot to staff, and we are really pleased to have been able to care for your mother and support you as a family. Best wishes to you all.

Back in November 2020, the time had come for my 87-year-old father to be admitted to a nursing home as he suffers from Dementia. My mother and myself like anyone else wanted to find dad the best possible place but with a Pandemic upon us, this we thought wasn’t going to be easy. Then we had a recommendation
for Brandon Park House. Four months on, my Father is as settled as he can be with his illness. He is being looked after by a fabulous team of caring and loving staff. I wouldn’t wish for my Father to be anywhere else. I would also recommend Brandon Park House to anyone.
Reply from Ruth French, Director at Brandon ParkHow lovely to read your comment and your lovely words about our team - we are so happy to see this! We are especially pleased that you have had such a good experience during the pandemic when as you say, these decisions were made even harder. We really appreciate you taking the time to review Brandon Park.

My father was in Brandon Park for just over 2 years and was very happy and well looked after by the staff. Brandon Park is set in a beautiful setting and is an excellent nursing home. They have daily activities for the residents, and my Dad enjoyed the activities. The care he received from all staff
from the brilliant nurses, carers, activity staff and everyone else involved in the running of the home, they treat residents with dignity and respect as if they were their own family.
I would 100% recommend Brandon Park Nursing Home, as the Team who work there are brilliant.

My Dad was a resident at Brandon Park for roughly 18 months. In this time Dad was treated with dignity and respect and I cannot thank the staff enough for the wonderful care they gave him. He was happy there and we had peace of mind knowing he was safe and well looked after. Although Dad was quite content
to stay in his room most of the time staff still included him in activities and crafts. We sadly lost Dad last November but even through these terrible terrible times Dad was not alone which meant the world to all his family and friends, and I cannot rate Brandon highly enough, it is set in a beautiful country park which residents love to see. I’m so glad Dad was able to enjoy his last months in this lovely place, thank you to all staff for your care and compassion, you will always be a part of our family.
Reply from Ruth French, Director at Brandon ParkWe are delighted that the care given to your dad through those 18-months was so good and that your dad was supported in a way that suited him and helped him live a good life. We really appreciate your comments. Thank you.

When my mother arrived at Brandon Park she had given up on life and just did not want to go on.
In the time that she has been there, the change and improvement have been huge.
She has regained a healthy weight and now enjoys her food.
She is relaxed and her blood pressure is at a normal reading.
She
is keeping herself occupied and busy doing reading, puzzle books and handicrafts that she has not bothered with for many years.
Until Covid - she had friends and family visiting her regularly as if she were at home. Even the family dog visited.
The care staff are very good and have really made a difference, and great improvement, for my Mother's quality of life.
It is not just a nursing home - it is her home.

My mother moved into Brandon Park in October 2019 due to very poor health. She was very well looked after. The care given to her was brilliant. Mum had a number of health problems and these were all taken care of. She eventually, during her time there became stronger and enjoyed joining in with the
many activities that were held in the care home. The care home staff kept me informed all the time as to how she was doing. The staff were cheerful and friendly. Mum sadly became very ill and the care she was given was kind and amazing The care staff were also very kind and supportive to me. I cannot thank them enough.

I can only say how highly I regard the level of care and compassion afforded to my Father in his final days. Every member of staff at every point of his journey has been so lovely and we all know that Dad has had the best care possible. To say that we are impressed with the dignity and respect Dad has
received along with what we can only describe as genuine kindness is an understatement. Also, the friendliness and compassion that we as a family have experienced towards us have been unforgettable during what has obviously been a difficult and emotional time. I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Brandon Park Nursing Home to anyone. All I can say is a massive thank you to everyone. The Manager should be very proud of your brilliant team. I know Dad would also thank you all and appreciate the love and care you have given him.

Mother is very well looked after. Even though she can be rude and aggressive due to her dementia, all staff treat her with kindness and compassion and retain her dignity. She is regularly encouraged to take part in activities or is made welcome to watch.
Management is very efficient, nothing is too
much trouble.
I have no hesitation in recommending this home.

My mother was a resident at Brandon Park Nursing Home for a little over two years. The manager, her management team and staff provided excellent care, responding immediately to any concerns and ensuring that she was safe and well looked after. Unlike other care homes we visited, the home is full of
joy and life, with daily activities and regular events throughout the year. Brandon Park is a majestic building set in a beautiful country park and offers a lovely environment for residents and their guests to enjoy. I will treasure memories of our summer picnics in the gardens and walks through the park. Thank you to all at Brandon Park for providing a warm and loving home for Mum during her final years.

My mum spent three years and five months at Brandon Park Nursing Home and I am so very glad that she was there, the care she received was outstanding. The staff always aim to please, whether it was an interest or hobby that my mum wanted to do or taken outside to sit in the garden to enjoy the sunshine.
If she didn’t fancy the menu one day the kitchen would often cook her an omelette which she loved. Mum was also very fussy about her hair and had it done every week at the home which for her felt like a lovely treat. She was sometimes a difficult and challenging character but the staff knew her so well and knew how to win her over and cheer her up. Whenever I visited I could often hear her in the bedroom with the carers laughing and singing, I felt like she was part of a big family. I am also very grateful to the staff and management for the support they gave me, always informative and compassionate during a difficult time, always managing to make me smile with a friendly welcome.

My brother-in-law was really well looked after in his three years at Brandon Park.
This reassured us that all of his needs were catered for.
He received the best possible treatment for his physical well being and mental well being.
He was never alone, there was always someone to care for him,
talk to him, reassure him when he didn't feel well and all of this welfare was 24/7.
I can't thank the staff for all the help they gave him and by this individual treatment and support, they all helped to make his remaining years comfortable.

There are no words that can adequately convey my family's gratitude to this fantastic establishment and to the wonderful people who work there, and that work so very hard to maintain the extraordinarily high standard of care that each resident receives. My father passed away at Brandon Park in March
of this year, defying all odds (and sometimes medical science) for nearly two years from an initial end of life diagnosis. We are certain that this can be attributed in very large part to the exceptional quality and very high standard of care delivered by all of the teams involved in looking after residents - carers, nursing staff, auxiliary personnel and management. Not only was my father's medical wellbeing managed to the highest standards, he spent his last years awash with love, affection, kindness and friendship from the very many Brandon Park staff that engaged with him every single day. My family and I enjoyed exactly the same experience; we are eternally grateful to you all.

My wife came to Brandon Park Nursing Home on February 17th 2020 for her end of life care. She was in her final stages of heart failure and duodenal cancer, which required her to be totally cared for 24/7. She died on the 13th April 2020. During her stay at Brandon Park, she was cared for and supported
by a wonderful nursing staff, excellent carers, superb management and many others who work in the background.
My only regret is that during her final week of life I was not able to see her, due to the lockdown caused by the Coronavirus nationwide virus outbreak and consequent government decisions.
I know the staff continued to care for her during that time in exactly the same excellent way as they had done before.
I do miss her but I do thank everyone at the home with heartfelt gratitude for looking after her.
God Bless you all.

My mum was only in Brandon Park for the last few weeks of her life but the staff made them the happiest she had in a long time. I cannot thank the staff enough for the love and care they gave her. It was lovely to see her laugh and smile as she was pain-free for the 1st time in a long while. The staff
helped us organise a Xmas party for her when she told them that she was sad that she wouldn't see Christmas. They also looked after us when we invaded the home in her last days. Nothing was too much trouble for them. They were angels.

(1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 65 registered maximum number of service users is 13, which has been reached with 23 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
