Review from Mark H (Brother of Resident) published on 20 July 2026 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience
Having been in a failing care home, my brother moved to G C in September 2025.
On arrival he was made to feel so special, Kelly was there to greet him, also a welcome card in his room.
Staff support was fantastic, they could not have done more.
Family saw a marked improvement in his overall wellbeing, his mental health was so much better.
The wonderful staff got to know his interests, and engaged with him on things he liked to talk about.
He regarded them as his friends.
It gave the family comfort to know he was being so well looked after.
My brother said, "everyone is so kind to me".
When poorly, his wish was to remain at G C. Despite the challenging circumstances, staff did so well caring for him.
They should be very proud of themselves,- Care and compassion at its very best.
Family are so grateful to Kelly and her team for making the last 8 months of his life, happy and comforting.

Residents at G C are fortunate to be part of what is a truly fantastic living and care facility.

Overall Experience

My mother lived at Grove Court from October 2025 until May 2026. She had a terminal diagnosis so we chose Grove Court for their ability to look after her whilst she was relatively well until she needed end of life care.

What a great decision. From the moment she came through the door she, and her family, were given the best care possible. The nurses and carers did everything they could to make her comfortable and give her the dignity she deserved but the rest of the staff were fantastic too. Everybody worked with a smile and it was impossible to be in the building without being greeted by a smiley face at every corner.

A measure of how much the staff were invested in her was the stream of people who, after they had clocked off, just popped into her room to see how she was doing before they went home.

Superb - we couldn't have asked for more.

I have had a very relaxing week at Grove Court, the staff are very helpful and nothing is too much trouble. A highly for me has been the wonderful deep baths! The open lay out with lunges and activities rooms are most attractive and spacious, there is plent of room to wander out and find a chair with a view to give variety to your day. Thank you Grove Court.

I have been a regular volunteer at Grove Court for about five years.
Once a week with another volunteer I visit every room at Grove Court with a shop trolley selling toiletries greeting cards, sweets, chocolates and other treats the residents might like to see.
I also occasionally help at other social events.
My Dad was a resident at Grove Court for 3 years until his passing in 2023.
I love volunteering at this wonderful home and feel valued.
I can honestly say that all the staff at every level are welcoming, professional, friendly, caring and supportive to all of the residents their families and each other.
In other words a great team who treat everyone with dignity.
Grove Court is the residents home and that is how it feels warm and welcoming.
It is an honour to knock on 61 doors weekly be invited into their home sometimes just to say hello but mostly for a chat and a look at what we sell.

I give Grove Court a five star review and I am proud to be a part of the Grove Court family.

My experience of my Mums life in Grove Court is wonderful. She took quite a lot of convincing to move into a care home but is so glad she did.
She considers the whole team her friends and they look after her so well. Unfortunately she is currently in hospital but the Grove Court team were quick to spot a problem and take action. Unfortunately for the lovely nurses in the hospital she keeps telling them how wonderful Grove Court is and keeps asking for the team of carers who look after her.

Hopefully she'll be back with them soon.

Overall Experience

This is my Sister's second stay at Grove Court. After spending 5 weeks in hospital, we wanted to give her a little longer in a supportive environment before returning home to her flat. Grove Court is such an amazing care home. All residents are treated with much care and love and every member of staff takes pride in their jobs. The chef and the kitchen team cook nourishing, tasty, home cooked meals each day and they are go out of their way to accommodate any special dietary needs. The Activity Manager and her team produce a daily programme, with varied activities to suit all interests. The home itself is well maintained, together with the grounds. Lastly, and very importantly, the home is managed by a very supportive and caring Manager and Assistant Manager and their attention to detail is very apparent. I would not hesitate to recommend this home to anyone who is looking to place a family member into residential care for any period of time.

Our mother spent the last 6 months of her life at Grove Court and we couldn't be more grateful for the exceptional level of care she received there. She was treated with kindness, respect and dignity and always with good humour which helped to make her feel content and secure during the final part of her life. The facilities and catering were top class and the activities provided and beautiful surroundings ensured that she felt happy and fulfilled. Every one of the staff went out of their way to make sure she was enjoying life and was comfortable and also that we always felt welcome when we visited.

Where do I start? My husband's health deteriorated very swiftly during the last few months but he was given the most dedicated care by the staff at Grove Court.
The end, when it came, was peaceful, calm and dignified. The family and I were treated with immense kindness and respect by all the staff, for which we are so grateful.
My husband was a resident for six years and I shall miss everyone there as so many had become friends.

I would have no hesitation in recommending Grove Court.

Our family has four birthdays in November and we wanted my husband (who is a resident receiving nursing care on Care Base 1) to be able to part of the celebrations for his son, his daughter and two small grandsons. I am so grateful to the staff at Grove Court - especially the kitchen staff - who helped make it possible. My husband could be with us in his wheelchair. We had the Whistock lounge to ourselves for our pre-selected Sunday lunch and pudding was a beautiful and enormous birthday cake celebrating all four family members.

These personal moments help to keep us united as a family in our love for my husband - thank you Grove Court for making it possible.

This short stay reinforced my two visits, that this is a very well run home with a most pleasing atmosphere of calm efficiency. My room was very near to the dining room which was always set-up with imaculate white cloths and papkins and lovely fresh flowers daily. I joined in to talk with residents, early on. Food was well balanced (lists of menus for nearly all meals were in the room) breakfast was a real joy, the gentleman in charge made it such a pleasurable experience it was even more so when the 107 yr old lady appeared and livened things up!! Altogether, with the beautiful garden and summer house I really look forward to living there next year.

My siblings and I were filled with relief when we found Grove Court for our mother. It's been an absolute blessing to know she's in such a caring and supportive environment.
From the moment we first walked through the doors, we were impressed by the warmth and professionalism of the staff. They truly go above and beyond to ensure the residents feel at home and are well-cared for. My mother is thriving here-she's happy, engaged in activities, and has made some wonderful friends.

What really sets Grove Court apart is the personalized attention each resident receives. The staff take the time to understand individual needs and preferences, creating a truly supportive and nurturing atmosphere. Knowing our mother is not only safe but also happy and stimulated has lifted a huge weight off our shoulders. We couldn't be more grateful for the exceptional care she's receiving.

The staff at Grove Court have been providing excellent care for my mum for over two years and they haven't put a foot wrong. They not only support mum's extensive nursing requirements with kindness, empathy and compassion but also support my father and indeed our entire family when required. They exceed expectation regularly and frankly we wouldn't be able to cope without them.

I took care of a friend, over her last 8 years (d.2021). The 2 Suffolk homes were different, one privately owned, and one within a group of institutions. My husband had respite from 2021, occasionally, in 3 different homes.
Now he is a permanent resident, the varied population makes it more like a home, the food is extremely good, well flavoured meals, with linen tablecloths. The care staff are respectful, gentle, experienced. They are friendly but also professional, monitoring all the time.
Activities are stimulating, with talks, concerts, films, drawing, tasks for the mind and body. By far safer in a community, with connections to the world than living home alone if this is difficult. I can enjoy, and relax as we approach the end. We come to engage with it, gently and quietly.

No organisation of this complexity can be perfect! The staff communicate well at every level in Reception, General Manager, Clinical, Nursing and Carers and Financial, Catering, Cleaning, Gardening and Maintenance.
