Kingfisher House's management and staff have been just wonderful. My mother suffered dementia in her final days and the staff were absolutely brilliant. I thank them all for the patience - the care, the humour and honesty. They kept our family informed. I just cannot thank them enough and wish them all the very best going forward.

Overall Experience

Kingfisher House was the first nursing home that I approached to place my ailing mother, who had inoperable cancer and was unable to live independently even with carers. Sadly, she died fewer than six weeks after entering, but my debt to the staff - from the wonderful manager and administrator through to the magnificent nurses and carers - is immeasurable. These marvellous people were unremittingly kind, intelligent, generous with their time and always cheerful. I'm culturally suspicious of any private-sector health organisation, but this was a most heartening experience. My mum was a terribly shy and self-conscious woman, but they constantly went out of their way to make her feel welcome, worthy and secure. A couple even shed tears when she passed away, and their concern for me as I attended her to the end will stay with me forever. I know this review sounds gushing, but credit must be given when it's due. I can thus unreservedly recommend the home and should thank its staff from the bottom of my heart.

The only thing I have experienced is that the bell/buzzers are not answered very quickly.
I appreciate how busy the staff are but should someone need the toilet, I find older people are unable to control themselves as much and accidents upset them very quickly.

Other than this, excellent service all around.

Recent shortage of staff has led to a lowering of standards and the remaining carers are overworked. They do their best under trying circumstance and my husband likes and trusts them, which is very reassuring for me.

I am always impressed when I visit Kingfisher.
The staff are always very friendly and pleasant.
The place is always neat and clean and the residents seem happy.
Obviously, some of them would rather not be in a home but are always treated as friends whatever their attitude.

The food always looks inviting and nourishing.

Since mum has been resident at Kingfisher House I have found the staff to be helpful caring and friendly. They show a lot of patience too!

I must also add that staff take the time to engage with the residents' families too and listen to us which I also think is very important and reassuring.

I am comfortable, well attended to and find the staff helpful and friendly. My biggest issue is the food which I feel does not offer me much of a choice, portions are often too large and with strange combinations e.g Sprouts with fish and chips.

I feel that mum is looked after well. I come up at all different times and the staff are very helpful. They keep me well informed of any situation. There were problems earlier in the year with regards to the lack of staff and stressed looking staff but that seems to have been sorted out now and there's a more relaxed feeling there.
