All the staff at Melford Court were very good at times you needed them for anything. They looked after my wife better than you could have done at home yourself and made sure she was always comfortable.

The care that my late uncle received in the time that he stayed was exceptional, and I can’t thank the nurses and care staff enough for the way they cared for him in his last days and the way they were there for us as a family. Nothing was too much trouble; it was appreciated at a difficult time.

When Mum was first admitted we had a few problems with incontinence products and regular showering, these issues were soon resolved. The staff let Mum manage independently as much as possible before they help, Mum likes this. The kitchen staff and varied menu is fantastic. The activities team are marvellous
- a credit to the home.

My mother sadly ended up in Melford Court due to an accident. Her sister was already at the home so we knew it was an ideal place for her to go to, as they could attend to her specific needs. All the staff at Melford Court are amazing and so very caring.
My mother loved doing the activities that are
arranged on a daily basis.
The admin staff were brilliant around Covid times making sure that we could maximise our calls/visits. My mother, a vegetarian, loved the food and always looked forward to her trips to the dining room at lunchtime. The facilities are excellent and the home is always clean and inviting.
My mother was at Melford Court from October 2020-December 2022, when sadly she died.
However, we knew that she was being looked after well and she was able to make the most of every day, thanks to the wonderful staff.
Nothing is too much trouble for anyone at the home.
The family will always be very grateful to the home for taking care of our mother, at a time when sadly we were unable to.

My family is very grateful for the compassionate care provided to my father during his time at Melford Court. The staff were always friendly and polite - they always took care of us too when we visited. Sadly my father passed away in November 2022 but take comfort in the fact that he was made comfortable
and received exceptional care during his last weeks. He settled really well and I know that he was very fond of and grateful to all the staff who cared for him - I would recommend Melford Court.

My wife entered Melford Court Care Home in September 2022. I chose it because my impression was that the staff enjoyed working there, that it was a happy place to work and that they were very efficient but also very kind. Now, after a few months, I confirm that, in my view, Melford Court is an excellent
care home and would recommend it to anyone looking for nursing care. The staff are exceptional and efficient but very kind and caring and my wife, who is nearing the end of her life, is looked after really well and I am most grateful.

First time in a care home and found the experience was good. The staff were kind and supportive. The room was spacious, bathroom could have more shelving.
Food was good but could be more varied, particularly at supper.

My mother has just spent four and a half weeks in Melford Court following a stay in hospital after a fall. The care she has received has been exceptional, I cannot fault it. Melford Court is very comfortable, safe and staffed to a high level, there was always somebody on hand to help my mother or answer
any of my queries. The staff seem unfailingly kind, even when really rushed and the food is excellent. I would not hesitate to use Melford Court again if the need arose.

My Father was a resident at Melford Court for seven months, he had very complex needs and at times could require the need for two staff to look after him. I would describe my Father as quite a difficult person to care for due to his condition but the staff were always so thoughtful and understanding
of his needs.
During his stay, the country was going through the covid pandemic. The staff and management always kept myself and family updated through what was a very difficult working period, always showing my father unlimited kindness and respect, the video calls were an added bonus and a welcome touch.
Thank you to all the staff at Melford Court for looking after my father.

Current Review Score: 9.7 (9.749)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.7 (9.749) out of 10 for Melford Court is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 18 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 18 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.799 for Melford Court is calculated as follows: ( (171 Excellents x 5) + (34 Goods x 4) + (4 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 209 Ratings = 4.799
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.95 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Melford Court is based on 18 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.95
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 52 registered maximum number of service users is 10.4, which has been reached with 18 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
