Oulton Park in Lowestoft provides person-centred care for older people in need of 24-hour Nursing Care and Dementia-led Nursing Care. Oulton Park also offers pre-bookable respite stays too.

The committed team at Oulton Park prides itself on ensuring that each resident receives tailored care which is regularly reviewed and adapted as an individual’s care needs change.

All staff are carefully chosen and extensively qualified to maintain the highest standards of Nursing Care. Personal interests are actively encouraged and there is much to enjoy in Oulton Park’s relaxed and homely atmosphere.

Oulton Park also has a dedicated Memory Lane Community that provides a safe, homely environment for people living with Dementia. Memory Lane incorporates bespoke design in its use of colour and cues to help individuals navigate through the home, whilst thoughtful interior design features, such as adapted crockery and tableware assists with reminiscence. Residents living with Dementia are offered a range of activities to help preserve life skills, support interactions, increase self-esteem and retain a sense of purpose and selfhood.

Providing fresh home cooked food and life enrichment plays a strong part in the well-being of the residents at Oulton Park. Whether it is art, gardening or live music - activities are undertaken to ensure a resident continues to engage and enjoy themselves through meaningful activities. The home’s quiet garden and courtyard also offer the opportunity to escape and enjoy a quiet drink with a loved one.

I have nothing but praise for the staff and management, they are all so friendly and polite, over my many visits to Oulton Park I have got to know the names of most of the staff and residents and it’s just like one big family, all the carers go above and beyond with there care, I would recommend Oulton

Oulton Park is a care home that from the very start offers a very high level of care in a very professional manner. When putting our relative into care we were very nervous & anxious as a family but from our show round with the very lovely manager who showed us nothing but love care and support in a
very professional manner. We were put at ease and from this minute onwards we knew that this was going to be a very safe home for our relative where she was going to be safe & cared for. The home offers a very professional manner the cleanliness of the home is at a very high manner and the food options and brilliant for choices & when it comes to the staff they do an outstanding job in the care they provide with personal touches throughout. From the time our relative came to the home until when she passed away, we could not thank the home overall for what they have done not only for the relative but for us as a family making the experience truly special. Whenever I visited my nan, her room was spotless and staff were always checking in on her to meet her needs. If you had any concerns, they dealt with these straight away. They also made sure that any visitors were ok too. If personal things had to be done then we were asked to leave the room to protect
her dignity.

I am a local historian and today (30th January 2024), I attended, together with the Mayor of Lowestoft, an event to celebrate with the staff and residents the 20th anniversary of the Oulton Park Care home. It was a most enjoyable experience, and I was very impressed by the building, facilities, staff

On June 2nd 2023 my husband arrived at Oulton Park Care Home after a few weeks in the hospital. We were both welcomed as soon as we arrived by the staff. Mum fast-tracked for palliative care and a bed was available at Oulton Park. I couldn't ask for a better place for Mum. In the short time, she has been here so far she has become noticeably more cared for. Mum is now eating well, more alert and has more good days.

Lovely visit to the home, was clean and tidy. Well laid out Café lounge area with plenty of options for drinks and cakes. There was lots of activity within the home with nice calming music playing, still able to have a conversation with my friend.

Such a beautiful home, very well looked after and clean. Staff go above and beyond their duty. Always kind and courteous. If you ask for anything it's always followed through. Residents are highly respected and their privacy is always contained. Apparently, the coffee could be better?

Thank you to all of you at Oulton Park Care Centre for taking such good care of my much-loved mum during the last few years of her life with you. It was evident that many of you had a soft spot for her during my visits. You have a place made special with lovely staff in all areas, always welcoming,
with many of you going the extra mile in your care for her. You know how much she appreciated it too. Through your care, you have made it possible for me to build many more years of happy memories with my mum.


Living so far away, I really appreciated the efforts so many of you made so I could speak with her on the phone so regularly. Plus, not being restricted to particular visiting times meant I could spend lots of time with her when we came over to Lowestoft. The measures you put in place to ensure all the family had a chance to visit during the difficult Covid restrictions were particularly appreciated.
Thank you for caring for my mum in her final days and for all you did to care for us too.

David Leaper

Job Title: General Manager Joined: 2025

My name is David and I joined Barchester Healthcare in 2024 as a Deputy General Manager. I have been fortunate and privileged to start in the role of General Manager of Oulton Park Care Centre in 2025.


I have been a nurse for more than 20 years, spending most of my time working in community nursing services throughout Norfolk and Suffolk. I have a wide range of experience both clinically and in leadership and try to foster a friendly and approachable manner in my daily work. Having trained in Suffolk, I obtained my nursing diploma, then obtained a first-class degree in Primary Care Nursing through the UEA.


I am passionate about providing person-centred care, and hope to support this as a core ethos in the home, ensuring that the people we care for, and their relatives and advocates, are listened to and included when planning the care that we deliver. The people we care for should feel that this is their home from home, and I am keen to do what I can to support this.

I am often the first port of call for our residents, their families, and home visitors and I am here to assist with any contractual questions that you may have whilst also ensuring that our residents and their families are fully supported by our home.

I have been with Barchester for 15 years now and have worked across many Barchester homes in the region.
