My Mum was in Fairholme for quite some time. I was so pleased and relieved with each visit to her that she was definitely in the right place and was receiving the utmost personalised care I could have hoped for. Mum accepted that she needed to be where she was and I feel this came about due to the kindness and compassion that each and every member of staff showed her. Mum always said the staff were all so lovely and kind to her.
Mum was always clean and tidy with her hair brushed and was always wearing a perfume which she loved.
The staff were amazing and nothing was too much trouble, family were always kept updated with anything they needed to be made aware of.
I am very grateful that my Mum got to spend the rest of her days at Fairholme where she was treated with respect and dignity and was made to feel at home and comfortable.

Thank you all so much.

On viewing Fairholme compared to others what came across was the enthusiasm and dedication of the staff. It may not be the smartest looking, but the staff make this the most amazing environment. Mum did not want to go into a care home but once she was there and experienced the care and compassion offered she accepted that it was the best place for her to be. The Management Team are second to none - always made time to take calls and never rushed to get off the phone -caring for the families of residents is part of their routine. I was updated on any change in Mums' condition, no matter how small. Mum was always so well cared for - clean, dressed, moisturised top to toe daily and even had her nails painted for her regularly, a small thing but it added to her retaining her dignity. Mum formed bonds with a number of the staff, and I am eternally grateful for their loving care of her. Mum was always address by name - even by the housekeeping staff. Thank you for everything! XX

What can I say? Mum could not have been looked after better if she was the Queen herself. The staff were all amazing and nothing was any trouble, so attentive, even for me. Mum was so well cared for and her every need met. It really was a weight off my mind knowing that she was safe and attended to while I wasn't with her. Yes, the interior looked tired and in need of re-decorating but that had begun in the last few weeks of Mum's stay. And in no way did that affect the quality of care provided to Mum. We had the freedom to come and go, when the weather permitted, and everything was worked around these trips out. Mum's residency lasted almost 7 years and over that time, visiting every day (Covid excepted) the staff became family to me. I shall miss them terribly since Mum's passing

My Brother was moved into Fairholme in October and I was welcomed with a warm and caring smile from the Manger which really put my mind at rest while waiting for my brother to arrive. All the staff made a big effort to say hi to me and my brother. This home simply has a compassionate, nature attentive staff who treat everyone like family, creating a warm, homely atmosphere with delicious food and engaging activities, leading to everyone feeling happy, safe, and well-cared for, with excellent communication from The Manager who goes above and beyond in her role. She should be very proud of her team and leadership.
My brother is always smiling on video calls offered by the home this is such a great way of keeping in touch rather than on a telephone call.

Thank you guys for all being amazing.

My father became a resident in August 2023 and sadly passed away on the 17th October 2025. The care received in those 2 years was exemplary. His every need was met with the utmost care and professionalism. His every wish was carried out during his end of life care and he died peacefully and with dignity with his family around him. I cannot praise every member of staff enough. Thank you.

I dont know where to begin.
Fairholme have treated my mum as thier own family member, the love the dignity the respect the compassion the genuine care they have provided. The smiles, the comfort, the reassurance, the saftey net of knowing someone was always there. Words cant express what they did for her from day one and during her time upto her passing away.

From the housekeeping staff who washed and folded her clothes to the cleaning staff whom tidied her room and made her bed, healthcares who provided care and support, nursing staff who intervened when needed most, to the cooks whom supported mum with her fussy eating! To the maintence man for being so kind and she adored the fact he would put shelves up to the activities co ordinater who made life alot less quiet. To the senior staff and management. Not only did you support mum you supported me and i will always owe you, and be grateful. To you all for making her feel loved and that she belonged. I thank you x

Very happy with the treatment and care received for my friend. The care given is genuine and comes naturally and not just because it's their job. I was unsure of what to expect but I knew after a week he was in good hands and loved the way they made him feel special for the time he was there. I would recommend Fairholme purely on all the lovely staff employed.

My dearest dad came in for end of life care. I couldn't have wished for a better place for him. Excellent staff and a very homely place to be. The staff go out of their way to meet your needs. I was also very well supported by the staff. I am happy to recommend this home. I loved the resident budgerigar too. Thank you so much for everything.

My Mum was admitted to Fairholme after a long stay in hospital, where she had been bedridden and not eating for several weeks. The kindness, care and compassion she was shown throughout her stay was second to none and made her time there, under difficult circumstances, easier for both her and our family. The rooms are clean and bright; lovely large communal areas; a large garden and plenty of activities for residents. I was able to take mum's dog to see her and everyone that visited commented on how welcome they felt. A credit to the management team, who may not have the most modern building to work in, but ensure the levels of care more than make up for this. My heartfelt thanks to every member of staff involved in Mum's care, and I have no hesitation in recommending Fairholme.

My dad came to Fairholme for just 2 weeks to receive palliative care as well as end-of-life care. If it weren't for Fairholme, myself (daughter), and my mum, we wouldn't have been able to spend as much time as we did with dad. The care my dad received was outstanding, the support from the management, nurses, and all the carers looking after dad as well as the family. The cleaners were also so supportive and showed my dad respect as well as giving my dad the dignity he needed. On my dad's final day, I couldn't fault the home at all, they were so supportive of all the family that was there, and the final care they gave my dad was outstanding. A big thank you from myself and my family.

My sister was a resident in Fairholme from November 2024 until her death in January 2025. I visited on a daily basis and observed excellent care and attention to my sister. Staff met her ongoing needs for personal care and dementia with the utmost respect, with unwavering dedication, concerns and expertise provided by staff at all levels. The staff at Fairholme demonstrated to me unwavering dedication giving positive impact on vulnerable people in their charge.

At first, some family wanted Mum to remain in her flat, but the home quickly showed why her final weeks were better with the level of care they could offer. They respected her solitude, found the perfect room, adapted to her dietary needs and gave her so much more care and attention than she could have received in her own flat. The family are in absolute gratitude that the home was available to us and accommodated our long daily visits. Mum couldn't have been in better hands.

The staff at Fairholme were extremely caring nothing was ever too much trouble. I was kept informed and updated on everything about mum. I could go home and relax after visiting knowing mum was in good hands. The only slight negative I have is the interior of the building could benefit from an update.

The staff and care team were all very friendly, helpful and professional. The rooms are all very clean light and airy. The whole place is spotless. The staff all have time to look after residents and to discuss concerns and queries. If I had to go into a care home this would be the one.

My father was in for palliative care, gratefully paid for by an organisation. I felt he was treated with dignity. I found the staff caring, the decor is pretty bad, and the state of the bed with bits peeling off wasn't great but I understand funding must be hard. It feels that the home lacks in equipment (up to date) and room furnishing. It makes up for in-kind caring staff and it was clean. My only slight complaint was that my dad was left in the same sheets for a long time which I did highlight at the home.

Reply from kylie chaney, Manager at Fairholme Nursing Home

Thank you for taking the time to provide this feedback to us. I understand the decor is in need of a review and this is something we are looking at doing very soon with as little disruption to the current patients as possible. Thank you for stating your dad was treated with dignity and respect. This is an important part of the care that we give here and I'm glad you felt this was achieved.

My mother was in a pretty bad state arriving at the home. We immediately felt that she was in good hands. Her male nurse assured us that she would be showered and have her hair washed the very next day. All the staff involved with my mother showed her care, kindness and above all she said they never made her feel embarrassed. They had to do everything for her. All the staff made her stay pleasant and safe, we never had to worry about anything not being done correctly when we had gone home. I would recommend this home, it was friendly, happy, kind and caring. You should be very proud of the standard they show at all times.

What a friendly and caring home for my auntie to be staying in. We were made to feel so welcome visiting my auntie for her birthday nothing was too much trouble. My auntie is obviously very happy at Fairholme Nursing Home and albeit her mobility is non-existent, they hoist and treat her with so much dignity and respect. All of the carers that we met were very attentive to her during our visit to make sure she was comfortable and it was obvious that she got on well with them. Great place for her to be looked after.
