My father is very happy here. He has always said that he wanted to end up here, and now he has. As a family, we couldn't ask for more from a home. Highly recommend.
Dad turned 90 this month. Staff in the home went to some lengths to ensure that the occasion was properly marked and that his friends and family were comfortable and well looked after. The cake that the chef made was outstanding.
The only category in which I award less than five stars is for value for money, and as the prices are set not by Brook View but by Colten Care I do not think this category should feature in the review: it is not a matter over which the home has any control.
I have no hesitation in recommending Brook View to anyone looking for a home for their loved ones.
I am beyond happy with how Nan is being cared for. Brook View Care Home has exceeded all of our expectations. The staff are simply wonderful and the care is outstanding. Thank you!
My family and I are very grateful for Brook View. My nanna could not cope at home and had several falls. She has been in Brook View for several months, and this is now her home. I can't believe how much better she is, the staff go above and beyond for her, and they have exceeded our expectations as a family. I could not recommend it enough!
Overall, I think Brook View provide excellent care and would not hesitate to recommend this home.
My uncle moved into the home during the pandemic in August 2020 after losing his wife who had also been a resident for a very short time. He so enjoyed his time at the home with the activities in the home and the bus trips out and was so well cared for in every way.
My mum was not well, but with the care from the staff, is getting stronger and this week has gone back into her wheelchair. Her family are very happy with her care. The staff/nurses have been excellent with her.
Our dear mother developed Alzheimer's 8 years ago at age 88 years old and by her 92nd birthday, she needed residential care. We are so blessed that Brook View was in our village West Moors and offered the top draw care and full support for her condition, which became worst over the last two years of her life. The staff in every department were amazing and gave our dear mum the best nursing care to end of life. The dignity, to see her life out at Brook View, was, for our family a major part of our being able to cope with her loss. Mum was part of a large family, which extended to us as well. We will always remember the team at Brook View with fondness. Our personal thanks from the whole family and especially her sons. God bless you all.
Comfortable, cost, staff are extremely kind. What more could you possibly want.
Both of our parents (81 and 86) joined Brook View in May 2022 and they couldn't be happier! Both are still very active and love joining in as many activities as possible and sitting in the garden on sunny days. As a family, we are delighted with the care, attention, support and variety of options available on a daily basis and they seem to be doing more now than they did in their own home - Dad is loving the "hotel" he now lives in! The staff are fantastic, extremely caring and friendly providing specific support for the individual needs of both parents and us as a family. Brook View and the whole team are highly recommended by us and thank you all for looking after our parents so well.
Have settled well since coming here in May 2022. The staff are very friendly and kind. Lovely room with a very good view of the beautiful garden. One of the main attractions for coming here. Excellent dining room with very good and varied food. Enjoy outings with good caring drivers and companions interesting and varied activities. Plenty of shared space for sitting outside in the very hot weather cooled by a view of the fishpond.
Brook View is an amazing place. Run on the lines of a 5-star hotel, but with extra facilities such as medical, entertainment, outdoor activities including visits to places of interest and musical entertainment in the evenings. The staff are all excellent and go about their work in a very professional way. All of the rooms are well furnished and comfortable. My wife and I have booked in permanently we are so impressed with the organisation of the rest home.
The first impressions were excellent. Very tidy, clean, well organised and welcoming. Sadly, many of the residents are rather non-communicative, so this was a disappointment for my generally, very outgoing and sociable mum, now 96 years old, who lives in a warden attended flat with a group of generally younger friends. We shall, however, have no hesitation in booking a further two weeks in September, as we are confident that her care will be excellent.
When I came here, I was very poorly. The staff here have all been kind and friendly and treated me very well. The food is amazing. It's very clean and the whole place is pretty to look at. I feel very privileged to be there.
When my aunt had a stroke, the staff spotted it straight away and got her to the hospital. More strokes followed and as it became clear that she was coming to the end of her life, the care became immense. As I live a long way away I was updated by phone and when the last evening came, they helped me talk to my Aunt by phone. They were with her to the end when I couldn't be and I am so grateful. Care really means care at this care home.
My mother thoroughly enjoyed her stay at Brook View. She also spoke very highly of the staff, the facilities, activities etc. In fact, she was happy with everything, so much so she will be going back for further respite care in a few months.
Today 25/9/21 we visited our friend at Brook View. We had an outside meeting and I feel it is important that to say how very kind the receptionist was to us. She brought us tea which was very appreciated but not only that, she even provided my husband with a gluten-free biscuit as he is coeliac and I had some cake. We were very impressed.
This is a very lovely home. I have been very happy here. The staff here helped me so much to get settled. I have been surprised by how much they help each other at busy times. It is also a very clean place, cleaners keeping things sparkling. The nursing staff have advised me how to look after my leg which can be a nuisance. They have a lovely home here.
Really felt that we, as a family, did not matter and staff were patronising and often talk down to us, the family. I would not recommend this nursing home. The food was very poor quality and no one to help my mother to help eat.
Our brother resided at Brook View for the last 3 years of his life and we have been so impressed with the kindness and compassion shown to him. My wife is from a nursing background and very much recognises the importance of person-centred care and Brook View did not disappoint on this. There is a strong ethos in the home on valuing the individual and every single member of the team delivered on this. The last year was particularly difficult for him due to Covid restrictions but staff did their best to support him in whatever way they could. They facilitated contact with us, his only family, via Skype, room visits with PPE or through a screen in the garden room and we were always kept fully informed throughout his time with them. Of note was the staff's support in the last weeks of his life where he was treated with such loving care, respect, and dignity.
