My mum has been with St James five months now. I can honestly say my mum is receiving wonderful care. The home is incredibly well run, everything is organised & running like clockwork, which is so reassuring for families. The staff are genuinely caring, kind and friendly & always treat the residents with dignity, patience & respect. Nothing ever seems to be too much trouble, it's clear they really do care. The food is excellent, a wonderful chef who prepares delicious home cooked meals & plenty of choice. There is a great range of activities & entertainment that keep residents engaged & happy. The team has created a warm, welcoming environment & knowing my Mum is safe & well cared for gives us real peace of mind. She is very happy at St James & loves the outings. Thankyou all for your dedication & kindness.

Dad has been a resident of St James Park care home for almost 4 years, due to Parkinsons disease. They all look after him well. He likes the food. I could not ask for better care. I would recommend the home to anyone.

Have been here for over a month now with a broken wrist from a fall, dropped head condition which has affected my balance & a hernia/rupture issue and had been struggling to cope at home, with a fear of falling over again. This is my first care home and am certainly very impressed wtih the care and attention I'm getting. All the staff seem very friendly & cater for all your needs. Initially getting used to the daily routine was quite difficult to adapt to, as my home life was quite the opposite but now am enjoying my stay & certainly feel safer than at home with so much help available at the press of a button!
Were really pleased to hear that youve felt well supported during your stay, especially following your fall and the challenges youve been facing. Its completely understandable that adjusting to a new environment and routine can take a little...
I have been here for just over 2 years and find the staff very pleasant and helpful. The accommodation is excellent and kept very clean. The food is very good with a choice at every meal time. I have no complains and am very happy to be here.
I experience caring and friendship with respect from all staff. Nurses and doctors are attentive to maintaining and restoring health and comfort. Carers wash, clean and prepare me with care and patience. Care is taken to avoid discomforts hoisting and moving me. Failing health is reported immediately to the nurse on duty. Dignity maintained; embarrassments saved. Maintenance staff drive to activity locations and assist the activity lady to look after us and keep us company on location. Maintenance work in care home is carried out efficiently giving calm explanations and prior warning. Housekeepers cheer me on whilst working efficiently in my room. Activity ladies happily encourage interest and enthusiasm for well-planned activities and visiting entertainers. I am well supported in my own interests of drawing and colouring and happily discuss new projects or activities. Chef and staff are kind and thoughtful and welcoming. We are administratively well looked after. Visitors are welcomed. Efficiency and caring are paramount. All staff have very busy schedules working to the standards and carry out duties happily and efficiently as expected and as told at meeting reviews. They work well together. The staff make efforts to know, listen and understand us.
I cannot fault the care that has been given to mum since last January. The staff are always kind and friendly and we are kept informed about mum's health and wellbeing regularly. Nothing is too much trouble and mum is comfortable and content.
My husband was here for 2 1/2 years, sadly, with dementia. I used to come in every afternoon to see him. He was looked after so well, and I was very impressed with everything; he could not have been in a better home. He passed away last December, and I look forward to visiting twice a week.
As a visitor on arrival at St James there is always a warm and friendly greeting. All staff members smile and acknowledge you as they go about their work. Very much a relaxed and homely atmosphere. All areas of the home are bright and clean and crisp. My brother has spent a year at St James and has no desire to leave. He joins in with the many activities and enjoys his days out. The food looks delicious and when we take him out he makes sure we get back in time for his meal.
St James Park Care Home manages dads daily needs with the respect and dignity a 95 year old gentleman has the entitlement to. All staff treat him with kindness and have got to know the person and what he likes and also dislikes. Dad is very happy here which is the best review I can give the home.
My dear wife has been in St James Park Care Home for just a short while, and after being together for 65 years, I found it very difficult to accept not being with her. I visit every day and over the weeks its become easier to accept the situation. I am so reassured by the way she's looked after by the exceptional and professional staff. They give so much time and patience, my wife is always clean with her hair neatly brushed. The food is at a very high standard with a lot of thought put into the menu's. It will never be the same not having my wife with me, but I sleep at night, thanking our lucky she being looked after so well, in a nice clean atmosphere. Thank you St James Park Care Home.
My aunt appears to be very happy and has continued to thrive under the care of everyone at the home.
I found the lounge and dining areas to be spacious and light, with lovely views over the surrounding countryside, which my aunt particularly appreciates and comments on regularly.
Brilliant managent and care. Excellent communication. Always done their best with Dad even if he was being difficult. Best care he has had. Thank you.
I am so pleased that my Mum has come to live here. Everyone at St James' is so helpful, caring and friendly from the office staff to the nurses and all the carers. The range of activities are varied, fun and well thought out enabling residents with a range of capabilities to take part. My Mum has settled in very well , and has already been included in a wonderful outing perfect for her interests. The building is light and airy, everything is kept spotlessly clean. The staff are very kind , patient and really go above and beyond to care for the residents.
Although my Uncle was not a long term resident the care and compassion he received was exemplary. The staff were all very helpful, cheerful and friendly. The activities well thought out and full of laughter. The room and shared areas were always clean and bright and well maintained. Well done to everyone who works here.
I can't express how much your exceptional care meant for us when you cared for our Mum for 15 months until last Friday. My emotions are raw but I have personally messaged one of the staff to thank you all for your support and attention you gave her even though she couldn't participate in activities. My drive up and down to see her from Derbyshire was always made easier knowing she was in the best care. From my heart thank you all x
St James' Park Care Home, Bradpole, have wonderful staff & I never need to worry about my mum. The whole care home is run so well, I can't fault anything.
