The new home manager is lovely, and now an administrator has been posted, I would highly recommend St James' Park. Carers are all pleasant to me, and Mum is no longer end-of-life, as they ensure she eats and drinks. Thank you.

My mother was a resident st St James' Park for palliative care for the last two weeks of her life, and from the welcome we received when we first visited Mum to the sad time we left after saying our final goodbye, we were impressed by both the staff and environment. We were always made to feel welcome
and kept informed about Mum's health and care. We felt secure in the knowledge that Mum was being well looked after in a home that put caring first, treating both Mum and us with sensitivities, compassion and respect. We would like to thank all involved with Mum's care.

Since Feb 11th 2022, I have found after getting used to the daily routine, the nurses and females to be helpful, friendly and considerate alike. The cleaning staff do well in keeping the room and bedlinen reasonably fresh. Also, the food programme is pleasant, tasty and enjoyable.

St Jame's Park is a welcoming, beautiful building in an amazing location with lovely views and gardens.
The friendly and welcoming manager and staff have really helped to make this difficult transition for my husband and myself as smooth and easy as possible, particularly during this very difficult
pandemic situation. The home is spotlessly clean, and the procedures in place to control Covid are very reassuring.
The food looks delicious, and my husband enjoys his meals, often telling me about how good the cook is! The manager and the staff obviously care about the needs of all of their residents and treat them all as individuals looking out for their needs and well-being.
I am so glad that my husband is being so well cared for in such a beautiful location and cannot recommend it highly enough to anyone looking for a special place for their relative.

The manager and carers are always very polite and welcoming. Any concerns or queries we have are always dealt with straight away. I and my family fully appreciate the difficult circumstance that the Covid pandemic has presented to St James' and all care homes. We're very happy and reassured how our

My mother has been at St James' since temporarily moving from the hospital in Sept. She is happy here, and has a radiant glow, which is lovely to see. The staff are all friendly, and greet you making you feel most welcome. The home itself is spotless clean, and has peaceful environs. Her room is a very
good size and feels homely with lovely views. The food looks exceptional... proof of the pudding must be in the eating, as my mother has put on weight! The carers themselves seem to go that extra mile, and it is clear to see that they work here because they care and show great empathy. Dignity and respect are evident throughout. All in all, we would recommend this home to anyone. A special mention must go to one particular staff member, who we feel is a fantastic asset to the home too. Thank you.

Both my mother and father were both residents at St James' Park, and I can’t recommend it highly enough. I visited a dozen homes before choosing St James' Park for them, and it stood out from the rest due to the décor, furnishings, facilities and cleanliness, and the care and attention shown by the
manager from the outset. It's also a nursing home so, despite my father's poor health, they could remain together.
The care my parents were given and the kindness shown to them was outstanding by all the staff, but especially by the manager and the clinical lead. This was in sharp contrast to their previous homes.
Although my father was on a pureed diet, my mother said the food was excellent.
Sadly, my father passed away there, but he received wonderful nursing care right until the end in a lovely room with wonderful views. And after he passed, the compassion shown by all the staff to us all was very touching.

My mother was admitted to St James' Care home after a period of hospitalisation, following a stroke. I was able to visit her, and she told me how well cared for she was. She had a lovely room with a view which provided plenty of interest for her to watch what was going on outside. The staff were very
caring and kept me informed of my mother's progress as appropriate. The home is light and airy and friendly, and the corridors are beautifully clean, wide and bright. Sadly my mother died, but I am comforted by the fact that she was happy and so well looked after at the end of her life.

First of all, I would like to thank the manager and his staff for helping us through this difficult time.
Mum was placed at St James Park over an hour from where we live, and this has been extremely hard for my father to deal with and caused great distress. The4 manager has been wonderful giving both
me and my father virtual tours of the home. By seeing where Mum was etc, it has helped to reassure Dad. We have been able to have Zoom calls with Mum, and yesterday, we were able to visit for the first time. Dad was given Covid test on site before visiting Mum, and I was able to watch and support them from outside on the patio. This visit meant so much to my dad, and to see my mum smiling was brilliant for us all. We were able to pass on Mother's day gifts, cards and flowers, and we are already booked in again to visit Mum next week. Mum cannot contribute to this review sadly.
Thank you again to the manager - you made an awful situation much easier, and we are very grateful.

My father has been a resident for quite a few years, now and I have always felt that he has been treated with dignity and compassion. I would not hesitate to recommend St James' to anybody else who may be considering residential/nursing care for a relative.

Under the near-impossible demands on all care homes under Covid, St James' Park works closely with families to maintain communication, dignity and comfort. The leadership is great and people-focused, with a compassionate balance between the needs of staff, residents and family. I wish we were experiencing
the home as it would be intended to be experienced outside of the pandemic. It is difficult to rate all areas as access to the premises is not permitted.

When I first visited the home I was very apprehensive but was reassured to find that it was a happy and caring place. Since then my first impressions have been confirmed. The staff are kind compassionate and I know my partner is well cared for. The COVID crisis has been difficult for all but is has
been well handled within the home and it has so far remained infection-free. The food could be improved and a larger lift would be a bonus.

As a Registered Nurse, Mihaela has gained a wealth of experience in providing care and nursing support to elderly people, to enrich their lives. She is a knowledgeable and dedicated leader who is passionate about delivering the highest standards in care and quality of life for Residents.


Mihaela closely shares HC-One’s vision in aiming to provide the kindest care for each and every Resident. She extends this caring approach to her Colleagues and works closely with them to deliver care and support to Residents in a way that they gain the most benefit, in a warm and welcoming home.


When asked what she enjoys most about her role, Mihaela remarked:


“Being a manager is an incredible, eye-opening experience that will teach you so many things. My secret recipe is love. I love my Residents and my Colleagues. Everyone has good qualities that, if appreciated, will grow. I like taking the time to discover these daily.”


Mihaela describes her proudest achievement was when she got her nurse registration. She loves being a nurse, looking after people and giving them comfort.


Outside of work Mihaela enjoys travelling and learning about new cultures. She also spends a lot of time with her family, including her son.
