The reception desk is very welcoming.
The activities are improving but might be given further variety.
Some of the food choices not appreciated. Too much meat.
The medical links with GP seem vague - would like more action when requests are made.
Parking can be tricky - no reserved areas.
Thank you for your feedback which we are pleased to note is positive overall. We would, however, very much appreciate the opportunity to meet and discuss the specific areas where you have identified improvements are needed so that we can ensure any required actions are taken promptly on our part to ensure your loved one's experience at Whitecliffe House is as good as it can be in all areas.
The staff care for my mother well. She is clean and comfortable. She enjoys her surroundings and the food.
Not participated in activities to date due to bereavement - xmas activities not appropriate at present for me.
I moved into Whitecliff House on September 20th, 2023. I was welcomed and moved into my room, and all my belongings had been discreetly labelled and hung in the wardrobe or folded neatly into the drawers. I was checked on regularly during the first few days after my operation to make sure I had no infection in the wind. The nurses redressed my wound daily. Every member of staff, without fail, was excellent, and nothing was too much trouble. The residents were a happy bunch, and I felt welcome to join them. The food in the home was really lovely. I have had the most relaxing time here for the whole four weeks.
Food excellent.
Laundry excellent.
Management excellent.
A safe and happy place to be, with great care and wonderful food.
Excellent home in every way - kindness is beyond compare. Choice and presentation of all meals are superb, made like a five-star hotel! If it ever becomes a requirement, I would be very happy to become a full-time resident of this most excellent care home, for like a home it is, run by a super manager and his dedicated crew.
Excellent. I made friends with several residents. I enjoyed the minibus outings with the excellent driver who knew lots of routes and pointed out things of interest. The staff were all superb, helpful, caring and had time to chat (they told me they had been told to talk to residents and would not get into trouble for 'slacking'). The surroundings were bright and cheerful and very welcoming. It was especially good that I could get advice from the nursing staff about the progress (or not) of my broken leg.
I have now been here at Whitecliffe House (Colten Care) for two weeks and found my care very good. The staff are all very helpful and pleasant. My room is nice and kept clean. My meals are good and a nice choice each day. I feel safe here. My laundry is kept up each day. Can't complain about anything.
During my stay here, I have had a very pleasant time with very kind people. Excellent care and a very nice atmosphere.
I had excellent treatment during my stay, would come back and recommend it to anyone.
I wouldn't go anywhere else. I am happy with their staff.
I feel safe here and all the staff are kind.
All staff were very helpful and pleasant, they all went out of their way to ensure that you were well cared for and comfortable. Would definitely return if respite care is needed in the future.
Mum has been at Whitecliffe for almost seven years and during this time her needs have increased. She has been well looked after throughout by friendly dedicated staff. Many are local and therefore bring a good community feeling integrated with the local town for activities, visits and entertainment. I am always welcomed by people I know when I visit and kept up to date about Mum. This is so reassuring.
I feel that my mother is receiving excellent care. Staff are kind and willing to listen. I am kept informed frequently.
I cannot praise Whitecliffe House too highly. The residents are treated very well - allowed to socialise or to stay alone if they prefer. The staff are always courteous and professional and my mother is extremely happy.
A real gem in our home town, Dad came for a respite visit and will hopefully be back very soon. Very friendly and caring home.
The staff at Whitecliffe House have shown exemplary care and compassion with my mother, who has a type of dementia associated with temporal arteritis. She loves her carers ad always tells us how lovely they are and what fun she has with them. Out mother can be quite "particular" about cleanliness and food, and she always tells us how much she enjoys the food. She is quite delighted with the activities and were so happy we found a lovely place for her.
Our family are delighted with the care and affection shown to our mother. The staff are excellent and we are relieved mum is so happy in her new home.
