All the staff seem friendly and efficient and have dealt with all my father's problems very well. It must be difficult to comply with his wishes, as due to dementia, they are not always in his best interests (eg nothing to eat) but despite these issues, I have noticed a marked improvement in his condition in the last two days. The acid test of any organisation is "Are the staff good at what they do?" in the month that I have been visiting my father at this establishment, I would answer with an empathic "yes".
Very clean and most welcoming by all the staff. The rooms are tastefully decorated and furnished to the highest standard. The food is exceptional the menu is varied and imaginary.
My stay at Whitecliffe House is very short only two weeks. I found everything most satisfactory the food is excellent the staff most caring and helpful at all times.
We could not have wished for better care. The warmth of this home should not be underestimated. The dignity provided was outstanding. All staff from the cleaners, carers, office staff to senior management really care for residents. There is true emotion in this home, which makes it very special. My Grandmother spent many happy moments in their expert care and we as a family were welcomed into the Whitecliff fold.
Her final weeks were spent here, care and dignity were so evident, staff went out of their way to make sure she was loved and comfortable at the end of her life. As a family, we could not have asked for more. We all have many memories of our time at Whitecliff that we will cherish forever.
My 97 yr old mum has come here for a months respite care. She has been in her own home with carers but I think having more people around and more stimulation has helped her enormously. All family and friends are made very welcome and the food is amazing.
Pleased to see that the same high standards prevail as when my late husband was a resident such a warm welcome from the staff. Surroundings as impeccable as ever - even better since the improvements in furnishings etc. I would highly recommend this care home.
My father in law who is 98 years old had been at Whitecliffe for five weeks and during that time he has been treated with kindness, patience and support. We have noticed such an improvement in his eating and whole demeanour, he is also much more relaxed. The staff have been very caring and have treated me and the family as well as dad with friendliness and support.
Could not have done better.
We visited many care homes, this one from the onset felt right. It is a small residence offering residential, assisted and nursing care. The staff are very caring, friendly and approachable at all levels. You are acknowledged by all staff. My mother is very settled and happy to be there.
Well looked after. Made very welcome by all the staff.
From my experience during one week of respite care in December 2016, Whitecliffe House is a well run, small nursing/retirement/rest home quietly and efficiently offering their services to a high standard. At the same time, a welcome degree of informality pervades the atmosphere giving an overall sense of friendly competence. The train tracks of formality and friendliness leave one in no doubt that the home is a company with the right policies and attitude to remain in the forefront of a highly sensitive marketplace, dealing in the difficult areas of ageing and healthcare.
You can concentrate on getting better whilst others attend to your daily survival needs. Individual diets are catered for in an understanding way, making sure you do not have to concern yourself about eating something you should not. The caring attitude of staff cradles you to ensure that you feel safe.
I found that recovery had been aided by my stay at Whitecliffe so that my body could heal without stress. If I have another major operation, I would stay here again.
After a serious illness Mum's immediate memory was completely gone. Though Mum could remember snippets of her past, everything else was gone. This was a massive game changer for the way we had been caring for Mum and we had to completely re-arrange how mum was being cared for. Mum's stay at Whitecliffe House enabled us to do this and allowed us valuable time to put in place a new care package for Mum.
We visited our friend who had a devastating stroke and was very impressed with his care, surroundings and all the personnel involved. this is a very fine care home.
Yesterday was my birthday (3rd August) and I was surprised and delighted when at tea time a wonderful birthday cake was presented to me. My son and daughter were with me and enjoyed the happiness of the occasion. My thanks go to every member of staff who took participation in the success of the birthday party. I am very happy and content in Whitecliffe House.
Lovely atmosphere, very helpful staff.
On entry all seems well managed, staff are friendly and helpful. Rooms appear well serviced, those in care that I have met, would seem to be content with their surroundings and care received.
Everyone at the home has been very kind and welcoming since we first came to visit prior to 'Mum' coming to live here. Mum has been here for one week so far and has been looked after very well, with a named carer looking after her. Staff have been available to talk to during most visits. The nurses have been particularly kind and understanding towards me. Staff are doing their best to get to know Mum, even though she has no speech and little movement. The chef has been very accommodating also of Mum's likes/dislikes. There was just one time when Mum had not been washed until 10.00 I was concerned.
Very lucky to have dad at Whitecliffe in such a caring environment and where the level of care is both genuine and of an exceptionally high standard.
Most lovely place, homely and I feel very welcome and part of Whitecliffe House.
