Care and support are also provided to those requiring palliative care.

Situated in a pleasant area of Bournemouth, Queensmount features outstanding facilities where residents can choose to socialise, entertain visitors or simply enjoy some peace and quiet. The attractively decorated home includes en-suite bedrooms each with a flat-screen TV and a 24-hour call system, while outside offers well-tended gardens and patio areas.

Only fresh produce is used in the preparation of nutritious and delicious meals, and all tastes and diets are catered for. Snacks are available morning and afternoon.

A dedicated activity co-ordinator ensures hobbies and interests are enjoyed, such as films, bowls, cake making, and charades. Local singers and musicians make regular visits and each month there is a themed event.

It was very hard for my brother in particular, and all the family, to accept that at 57 his best option was to move into a nursing home. However, he settled in successfully, very quickly, which we believe was due to the fantastic care and understanding that has been provided by all the staff after a
very difficult and traumatic year for my brother and his daughter. The staff go out of their way to accommodate visits from our very large family and we cannot thank them enough for making our brother’s life more comfortable.

Queensmount has surpassed my expectations. I have had a very difficult year losing my mother and grandmother very suddenly and then having to make the decision for my father to go into a nursing home when his needs became too great to look after at home. I couldn’t believe the sense of community, wonderful
nursing and catering staff and amazing facilities at Queensmount. The reception staff have been so welcoming and kind and the manager has been incredible and very involved in helping my family and I, wherever possible. I couldn’t recommend Queensmount more.

Thank you Queensmount for all the wonderful care you have shown my lovely brother. You also organised a fantastic meeting with a famous footballer who was once the manager of his team West Ham. My brother is a lifelong supporter of 'The Hammers' and was surprised and delighted by his visit. It really
gave him a boost! You have all gone 'over and above' in your duty of care for him and we really appreciate it as a family. In my brother's words - 'I am treated like a king' in here!' Thank you for making a very difficult time just a bit easier for us all.

Everyone is extremely helpful. In a time of restrictions, they have enabled me and my family members to visit my mother on a daily basis who is at the end of her life. Even accommodating us all with various visiting times. Nursing staff keeping us updated with any changes as and when. Have been made

Queensmount is mostly very professionally run, very clean, good entertainment and staff very caring. It has been difficult for staff during Covid, but I have noticed that they are not all following the rules in a consistent manner which has left me confused at times. I did not get good notice of rule
changes last July during lockdown when the nature of the visits was changed without me being notified until I arrived at the home for my visit. I feel that even though a letter may have been sent, those visitors arriving on the day of the change should have been contacted by phone/email as the post not timely or reliable. It would be good if details about my mother's daily routine, the condition could be visible via a confidential online account as that it would be easier to be kept updated without continual phone calls to nursing staff. The garden facilities are not adequate (very small and no grass area) - this, I think, has been a particular disadvantage to residents during the lockdown.

Thank you for your feedback. We follow the government guidance and as a result, our policies change in line with the guidance, which we communicate by letter. We appreciate that this might not be the most convenient method of communication for you and that a phone call may be more suitable, so thank you for this feedback. At present, we do not have the facility to be able to share care plans online and our team members will keep relatives informed of any changes within a resident’s personalised care plan. If you would prefer a different method, please let us know.
We are pleased to say that we now have a sensory garden and we are currently working on the garden to get it ready for use during the summer months. We also aim to utilise the woodland area close to the home for walks. If you would like any further information, please do not hesitate in contacting the home directly. As there is a pandemic at the moment, I am the only member of my mother's family to visit one hour per week, no other visits by any other family members. So very cruel as we want to visit her more. My mother asked to visit the shop to buy hair stuff and was told "I will see if they have any", so she
never got to the shop? My mother is not and has never been sociable, so she doesn't go to the communal room, so she is in her room 24/7. Such a shame as we could and want to visit and help her, to take the pressure of the nursing home.

Thank you for your review. I can now confirm that 2 designated people are allowed into her room after having a lateral test that shows negative. Queensmount have consistently shown to us how well they are caring for our Mum. We miss her dearly and with her being both deaf and blind during Covid-19 has made communicating even harder. It is heartwarming to see that the carers will hold her hand, give her a light hug, brush her hair and even try
to speak clearly into her ear saying our names to let her know we are there. It eases our thoughts that she is not alone and the staff's act of kindness to Mum transcends to us too. Thank you Queensmount for all that you do. Stay safe.

My friend was admitted to Queensmount in January 2021. Times are very difficult in the world right now and I know how hard it is for care home staff but I am happy to say I feel she is very very well looked after and cared for by all the staff. The care within the home is exceptional. Thank you

Job Title: Financial Administrator

I joined Queensmount in May 2015 as a part-time receptionist. In 2016 I became a full-time customer advisor, later in the year, I moved roles as Senior Activities Organiser. With my past background in accounting, the role of Financial Administrator became available within the home and this has always been my dream job. I applied for the role and was over the moon when I was successful with my application


I love working at Queensmount as it feels like my second family. I enjoy chatting with residents and relatives and having a hands-on approach to ensuring every department is delivering the outstanding care which is reflected in our recent inspection report.
