Care and support are also provided to those requiring palliative care.

Situated in a pleasant area of Bournemouth, Queensmount features outstanding facilities where residents can choose to socialise, entertain visitors or simply enjoy some peace and quiet. The attractively decorated home includes en-suite bedrooms each with a flat-screen TV and a 24-hour call system, while outside offers well-tended gardens and patio areas.

Only fresh produce is used in the preparation of nutritious and delicious meals, and all tastes and diets are catered for. Snacks are available morning and afternoon.

A dedicated activity co-ordinator ensures hobbies and interests are enjoyed, such as films, bowls, cake making, and charades. Local singers and musicians make regular visits and each month there is a themed event.

As there is a pandemic at the moment, I am the only member of my mother's family to visit one hour per week, no other visits by any other family members. So very cruel as we want to visit her more. My mother asked to visit the shop to buy hair stuff and was told "I will see if they have any", so she
never got to the shop? My mother is not and has never been sociable, so she doesn't go to the communal room, so she is in her room 24/7. Such a shame as we could and want to visit and help her, to take the pressure of the nursing home.

Thank you for your review. I can now confirm that 2 designated people are allowed into her room after having a lateral test that shows negative. In addition to this, other family members or friends can also do the safe pod visits. If you can contact the home and book these visits I am sure it will put your mind at ease.

Queensmount have consistently shown to us how well they are caring for our Mum. We miss her dearly and with her being both deaf and blind during Covid-19 has made communicating even harder. It is heartwarming to see that the carers will hold her hand, give her a light hug, brush her hair and even try
to speak clearly into her ear saying our names to let her know we are there. It eases our thoughts that she is not alone and the staff's act of kindness to Mum transcends to us too. Thank you Queensmount for all that you do. Stay safe.

My friend was admitted to Queensmount in January 2021. Times are very difficult in the world right now and I know how hard it is for care home staff but I am happy to say I feel she is very very well looked after and cared for by all the staff. The care within the home is exceptional. Thank you

This is truly an outstanding care home my mother had several short stays here over a number of years the last one being July this year and was always very happy with the care she received. She enjoyed the food, entertainment and saw the staff as friends as they always welcomed her very warmly into their
care, and even when not staying there they did not forget her and she enjoyed many lunches on a Friday with them. The staff are always happy, friendly, efficient and caring and I could always relax knowing she was in such good hands when she was with them. Thank you.

Mum was with you for two and a bit months only before passing away (old age) and the care she received was excellent. Everyone saw to her every need unflinchingly with humour and kindness, night and day. We tried to involve her with afternoon activities, but she had no interest, and I think the staff
were aware of her imminent death long before I would believe it. The kitchen staff tried, oh how they tried, to interest her in food, but her appetite was gone. Thank you all.

My father arrived at Queensmount direct from hospital at the beginning of April, so I am writing this review from a very different perspective. Due to the lockdown, all the arrangements had to be made by telephone. The care home liaised with the hospital and made what was a very stressful situation
for myself, a seamless process. I have never been into the Queensmount building, nor have I met the majority of staff, who are caring for my father, due to the current Covid situation. However, I feel very reassured that my father is in the best possible hands, as everyone is so kind and understanding and nothing ever seems to be too much trouble. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Queensmount to others and I can't thank the staff enough for their care, attention and dedication during these difficult times.

My husband has been a resident since November 2019 and at all times he has been well looked after and taken care of to an extremely high standard. The staff are very friendly and helpful, the meals are always well thought out and very good. The present situation is not very helpful regards visiting
etc but it is beyond BUPA to do anything about this but it will pass in time I'm sure.

I would recommend Queensmount to other friends and family as I find the staff on the whole very friendly and helpful. Queensmount is set in a lovely area and is easily accessible.
It is of good hygiene standards and the rooms vary in size with en suite modern bathrooms which, unfortunately, can get
overly hot and slightly flooded!
Staff are very welcoming and I often have a good chat on arrival. I feel very relaxed in the staff's company and feel that no question is too much trouble.

I joined Queensmount in May 2015 as a part-time receptionist. In 2016 I became a full-time customer advisor, later in the year, I moved roles as Senior Activities Organiser. With my past background in accounting, the role of Financial Administrator became available within the home and this has always been my dream job. I applied for the role and was over the moon when I was successful with my application


I love working at Queensmount as it feels like my second family. I enjoy chatting with residents and relatives and having a hands-on approach to ensuring every department is delivering the outstanding care which is reflected in our recent inspection report.
