Westbourne Tower, a premium provider of dementia care, nursing care and residential care, is ideally situated within easy access to the centre of Bournemouth.

Rooms dedicated to respite stays following a hospital visit or when your carer is on holiday. The care home has 114 beds and on-site nursing facilities.

The care home is located a short distance from the centre of Bournemouth, offering a wide range of accommodation options and beautiful, wheelchair-friendly landscaped gardens designed for a gentle stroll or relaxing walk. Pet-friendly, so your four-legged friends can also move in.

A passionate and dedicated team ensure all residents’ individual needs and requirements are met; whether that is arranging for your favourite meal to be created by the in-house chef or arranging activities for you to enjoy.

Westbourne Tower encourages residents to stay active, make new friends, nurture interests, learn new skills and pursue favourite hobbies. The Activities Co-ordinator arranges exciting events, trips and onsite activities so there is always something to do.

The care home is close to the beaches of Bournemouth and Poole and air, road and rail links (the mainline train station is just five minutes away) are excellent for visiting family and friends. Both my parents received end of life care recently. The care staff were extremely kind and professional and particularly compassionate towards them both. I have been here for a long time and feel like home here. I know the staff by name, and they treat me as a member of the family. I take part in lots of activities and have led some. I have a very convenient room on the ground floor with a window (looking out on the garden and road).

My mother has lived at Sunrise for 7 years, initially in assisted living and as her dementia progressed and her needs required more support she moved to Reminiscence. This home is outstanding, the staff at all levels are friendly and engaging with residents, more importantly to us is that they are well
trained, skilled and make every effort to ensure that my mother's needs are met. They operate as one huge team regardless of which department they might belong to, and all staff knows my mum by name. As I write we are living with COVID and all the implications of this, yet as a family we all know that my mum is being well cared for. We cannot thank the staff enough.

Superb staff who seem to always go the extra mile to look after the residents and to support the family. The building and rooms are very good and kept immaculately clean. There are plenty of activities, the food is very good, and the residents have a very wide choice.
I am reassured during the current
Covid pandemic that my father is in good, safe hands and is being well looked after despite all the current challenges.
It is not cheap, but well worth the cost of knowing my father is in very good hands.

Excellent in every way. All staff are helpful, kind, caring. Nothing is done in a hurry. Food is excellent and plenty if you require it.

Following the death of my wife and after researching the industry I became convinced that Sunrise was the obvious choice for me on a lifetime basis. The reasons for leaving my home were the loss of my wife, my deteriorating medical conditions, and the lack of social involvement and challenges in my
life. I am pleased to say that Sunrise has satisfied my needs with the result that, at age 90 and with an active mind, I am able to undertake projects and enter the new field of art with a renewed feeling of satisfaction. In practical terms, I have an ideal, customized room, excellent meals, entertainment and welfare provided by staff and management who are motivated at the highest level.

Mother was suffering from anxiety and loneliness and felt unable to cope on her own. The Sunrise experience has been superb, rejuvenating her so that she is now returning to full independence.
We started a six-week respite agreement not knowing how it would work out but now we know that Sunrise is
a likely candidate for further care provision, if and when the need arises.

I've known several of the residents over many years that have gone here and seen how well they are looked after, the level of engagement of the staff and the attention to catering, activities and non-core functions over and above the carers that deal with the day-to-day. Everyone is known by name and
their history. Recently, I moved my mother here after moving from Hampshire to Dorset. She has a lovely room, they have made progress quickly with the nursing staff on some of her medical issues and Mum is settling in very well. I like that many of the key staff have been here a very long time and the current ratings are well deserved. Nothing is ever perfect and there are always wrinkles, the difference here is that everyone wants to try to solve it to give every resident a good quality of life and a comfortable experience. Well done Sunrise. Please keep up the good work.

My husband was very pleased to be able to get an emergency respite room as quickly as we needed it and once I was here, for what turned out to be five weeks, I immediately felt comfortable and welcome because of the friendliness and professionalism of the management and care staff.
The restaurant
was well run with attentive staff and the daily menu changes offered by the executive chef gave me a wide choice of healthy meals.
But during my stay, it was the attention of all the young care staff, who were kind, caring and lovely to speak to, which was the highlight.

The level of care and the service at Sunrise of Westbourne is outstanding. My nan is extremely well cared for and the staff are very bright and bubbly. Nan has been there for a couple of years now and they joke around and laugh a lot; which is really lovely as it makes for a very friendly environment
and we joke within the family and call it 'the hotel' - and it really is like that. The chef is amazing! He really looks after everyone so well. Nan has always loved her food and she often tells me about the special dishes the chef has done just for her. I eat there for lunch whenever I visit. The food is excellent.

My girlfriend's Nan is in Sunrise and has loved her stay there, she even went on a recent skiing trip with the care home's help which she had always dreamed of. I’ve been in and visited a few times with her and there are always lots of activities for residents to choose from alongside the excellent
food and lounge area where their friends and families can always come in and visit. The staff are always really friendly and overall, it’s an excellent care home.

We are lucky to have a brilliant and experienced team who always go above and beyond to make sure that the specific needs of every resident are undertaken every day. I have been working in Westbourne Tower Care Home for over 15 years. I have progressed throughout the company from Care Assistant to Lead Care to Reminiscence Coordinator and now Deputy Manager. I am very proud to lead a team, many of whom have been long-service team members, who constantly provide quality care whilst keeping our core values at the forefront of everything we do.


Working at Westbourne is a privilege and we are lucky to support our residents and each other every day.

Job Title: Dining Service Co-ordinator Joined: 2007

I have been here since it opened in 2006. I can’t believe how time has flown by. Although I already had the skill set I was working as a Bank Chef alongside my own business and was asked to take on the managerial role which was an easy transition. I trained and worked in London, Morocco, France and Italy before returning to the UK and settling in Bournemouth. My food specialities are multicultural and the residents love it when I do theme days. I have been a major part of this home being awarded CQC Outstanding, the CQC assessor loved my secret ingredient “ a bit of love”. I run a monthly Dining Committee where residents can influence what is on the menu, likes and dislikes and I love nothing more than walking around the dining room on a daily basis to ensure their wishes have been followed. I like to surprise residents with their favourite dishes, for special occasions. I have to say I love my job and my residents make me smile every day. I am proud to say I work here.

Job Title: Activities Coordinator Joined: 2018

I am delighted to have been recently appointed for this important role, in delivering a varied, stimulating and educational programme for our residents. I like to think outside the box and ongoing feedback from our residents, it enables my talented activity team to deliver, along with our team of amazing volunteers. I bring to the role my experience of managing teams, Interior Design, Floristry, Art, and Teaching and I even played table tennis for Wales! I am inspired by talking to our residents and finding out what they enjoy and what makes them smile, whether that's an entertainer, Tai Chi, Music Therapy, Camera or Theatre Club or 1 to 1 person-centred activities. 110% is put into everything we do here.

I have worked here since 2006, and the things that have remained constant throughout that time are the love, dedication and unfaltering kindness my colleagues deliver every day. No two days are the same; there is always something going on which makes you smile and our residents become part of our extended family. We are committed to filling their days with happy moments.


My role is to market our home and welcome new residents into it, dealing with professionals and family members. Making a significant decision at a critical time is made easy when we have a beautiful product, lovely food, a great activities programme (including minibus outings) and caring staff, all coupled with happy appreciative residents and family members, this is borne out by our positive carehome.co.uk reviews.

Job Title: Nurse Care Manager Joined: 2022

I have worked in the care sector since 2012, predominantly in dedicated dementia homes. I have been in co-ordinating positions since 2016. I am currently studying to become a Nursing Associate and my ultimate goal is to become a Registered Nurse. I am passionate about person-centred care and ensuring that our residents live their lives as well as they wish, always upholding their wishes and preferences.

In my personal life, I am married and live in Southbourne. I love the beach, especially in the autumn. In my spare time, I love to read criminal and mystery books and take walks down the beach. I am also an unashamed Harry Potter fan.
