Thank you for taking the time to share your experience of Sunrise of Westbourne. We are glad you are so pleased with the quality of our service.
I have lived in Sunrise for three and a half years. From the beginning, I have found every one of the staff helpful and polite and very willing on all occasions. Service is first-class, the rooms are very comfortable and clean. The food and drinks are good. The various facilities, depending on capability, are first-class and conducted by experienced leaders. One feels very safe and secure.

I cannot recommend highly enough fantastic care, spotless accommodation, tasty food and varied/excellent entertainment. Staff always communicate and encourage feedback or if any questions. Both my mother and father have had exemplary care. They love all the staff.

Writing as the son of a resident with dementia and cancer, I have been blown away by the friendly, compassionate and professional approach of everyone I have had the pleasure of dealing with at Sunrise. Right from the very first contact to the later stages of Dad's care, we have been made to feel very comfortable with the living environment at Sunrise, along with end of life care, which has been managed sensitively with excellent communication by all staff.

I have been so looked after during Covid. Nothing was too much trouble, and we had lots of activities and meals together in the dining room. I don't like staff wearing masks, but understand it's for our safety. The home is so clean and lovely, and the food is amazing.
Our dining team will be thrilled with your lovely comments. Here at Sunrise of Westbourne, we cater for each resident based on preferences and dietary requirements. Hearing this positive feedback is greatly appreciated by everyone in the community.
Both my parents received end of life care recently. The care staff were extremely kind and professional and particularly compassionate towards them both. They have been most kind to me as a relative and went out of their way during these difficult days to allow me to visit and to share in their final journey.
Firstly, please accept our sincere condolences for your recent loss and thank you for taking the time to share your experience of Sunrise of Westbourne – particularly at such a difficult time. The team here are so grateful that your parents had such a positive experience of the home, and this extended to family members and friends.
Comfortable accommodation.

I have been here for a long time and feel like home here. I know the staff by name, and they treat me as a member of the family. I take part in lots of activities and have led some. I have a very convenient room on the ground floor with a window (looking out on the garden and road).
Thank you for your kind words. We believe we have a fantastic team here at Sunrise of Westbourne and your recognition of this is appreciated by every member of our team. By having a whole-home approach here at Sunrise we believe this creates a relaxed and friendly environment for our residents to call home.
My mother has lived at Sunrise for 7 years, initially in assisted living and as her dementia progressed and her needs required more support she moved to Reminiscence. This home is outstanding, the staff at all levels are friendly and engaging with residents, more importantly to us is that they are well trained, skilled and make every effort to ensure that my mother's needs are met. They operate as one huge team regardless of which department they might belong to, and all staff knows my mum by name. As I write we are living with COVID and all the implications of this, yet as a family we all know that my mum is being well cared for. We cannot thank the staff enough.

I am reassured during the current Covid pandemic that my father is in good, safe hands and is being well looked after despite all the current challenges.
It is not cheap, but well worth the cost of knowing my father is in very good hands.
We are delighted to hear that our dining is a stand out factor for your father. Our residents deserve the best and we ensure that they receive this from a wide variety of high-quality suppliers. Thank you for your recognition of this, and your kind words will be passed on to our dining team.
Rooms are left very clean. I have no regrets coming here and you soon become used to communal living.

My friends mum has been a resident here for 2-years. The way the home has dealt with the current situation, the care taken to keep the residents safe, and the regular contact with family and friends has been amazing.

Following the death of my wife and after researching the industry I became convinced that Sunrise was the obvious choice for me on a lifetime basis. The reasons for leaving my home were the loss of my wife, my deteriorating medical conditions, and the lack of social involvement and challenges in my life. I am pleased to say that Sunrise has satisfied my needs with the result that, at age 90 and with an active mind, I am able to undertake projects and enter the new field of art with a renewed feeling of satisfaction. In practical terms, I have an ideal, customized room, excellent meals, entertainment and welfare provided by staff and management who are motivated at the highest level.
We are thrilled with your positive experience and are so glad you have settled in so well to Sunrise of Westbourne. We take great pride in delivering high-quality care and providing facilities to our residents. Your recognition of this is invaluable to our team, thank you.
We started a six-week respite agreement not knowing how it would work out but now we know that Sunrise is a likely candidate for further care provision, if and when the need arises.
Thank you for taking the time to review Sunrise of Westbourne. Your feedback is important to us, as is the care and well-being of all of our residents. We were delighted to have your mother stay with us and looking forward to welcoming them back in the future if their requirements change.
Bedroom most warm and comfortable.
Lounge and restaurant good and spacious. All well kept most clean and tidy. Gardens seating and car parks very good and plentiful.
Visiting times very lenient. Evening meals could be greatly improved. Outings, quizzes, music most helpful to residents.
Here at Sunrise of Westbourne, we endeavour to provide the very best experience for our residents and their families. Thank you for taking the time to share your kind words with us, these will be shared with the team.

Meet the Team (6)

I am truly passionate about my role and believe in what we do. Our residents are our teachers and their stories inspire me. We are lucky to have a brilliant and experienced team who always go above and beyond to make sure that the specific needs of every resident are undertaken every day. It's a lovely place to work and a great place to call home.

I have been working in Westbourne Tower Care Home for over 15 years. I have progressed throughout the company from Care Assistant to Lead Care to Reminiscence Coordinator and now Deputy Manager. I am very proud to lead a team, many of whom have been long-service team members, who constantly provide quality care whilst keeping our core values at the forefront of everything we do.
Working at Westbourne is a privilege and we are lucky to support our residents and each other every day.

I have been here since it opened in 2006. I can’t believe how time has flown by. Although I already had the skill set I was working as a Bank Chef alongside my own business and was asked to take on the managerial role which was an easy transition. I trained and worked in London, Morocco, France and Italy before returning to the UK and settling in Bournemouth. My food specialities are multicultural and the residents love it when I do theme days. I have been a major part of this home being awarded CQC Outstanding, the CQC assessor loved my secret ingredient “ a bit of love”. I run a monthly Dining Committee where residents can influence what is on the menu, likes and dislikes and I love nothing more than walking around the dining room on a daily basis to ensure their wishes have been followed. I like to surprise residents with their favourite dishes, for special occasions. I have to say I love my job and my residents make me smile every day. I am proud to say I work here.

I am delighted to have been recently appointed for this important role, in delivering a varied, stimulating and educational programme for our residents. I like to think outside the box and ongoing feedback from our residents, it enables my talented activity team to deliver, along with our team of amazing volunteers. I bring to the role my experience of managing teams, Interior Design, Floristry, Art, and Teaching and I even played table tennis for Wales! I am inspired by talking to our residents and finding out what they enjoy and what makes them smile, whether that's an entertainer, Tai Chi, Music Therapy, Camera or Theatre Club or 1 to 1 person-centred activities. 110% is put into everything we do here.

I have worked here since 2006, and the things that have remained constant throughout that time are the love, dedication and unfaltering kindness my colleagues deliver every day. No two days are the same; there is always something going on which makes you smile and our residents become part of our extended family. We are committed to filling their days with happy moments.
My role is to market our home and welcome new residents into it, dealing with professionals and family members. Making a significant decision at a critical time is made easy when we have a beautiful product, lovely food, a great activities programme (including minibus outings) and caring staff, all coupled with happy appreciative residents and family members, this is borne out by our positive carehome.co.uk reviews.

In my personal life, I am married and live in Southbourne. I love the beach, especially in the autumn. In my spare time, I love to read criminal and mystery books and take walks down the beach. I am also an unashamed Harry Potter fan.
