Magna Care Centre is an attractive Mediterranean style building located within a beautiful conservation area. It offers the highest levels of specialist nursing, dementia and residential care including trial stays, short stays, convalescent care and long-term care for individuals or couples.

The home provides light and spacious accommodation throughout with wonderful landscaped gardens specially designed to be attractive in all seasons. The gardens feature a number of attractive water features, palms, exotic plants and terraces which have commanding views across five acres of grounds.

The team at Magna Care Centre take pride in supporting independence and variety. Staff are all dementia trained and understand the importance of meaningful activities. Through a dedicated activities plan generated by two onsite activities coordinators, residents' hobbies and interests are encouraged and supported at the home where possible.

Dining is an important part of the day to day life at Magna Care Centre. The chefs, along with the hospitality team, work hard to offer varied menus whilst promoting a balanced diet. Specialist training also equips the team with the skills to offer all residents a positive experience, including those living with dementia or dysphagia. Outside regular meal times, residents can enjoy freshly ground coffee and snacks and the popular snack bar.

Fantastic service throughout the home.
The staff go above and beyond at every opportunity.
The events the home hosts are very welcoming for the family. As I have a young child, the lobby area is very accommodating with children’s toys.

After several care homes, my sister ended up at Magna Care Centre where she did, unfortunately, pass away but the care that she received there far surpassed any of the other care homes she had been in and also their care and compassion to us - her family and friends were also outstanding. Very friendly
and caring.

My late father spent the last 16 months of his life at the Magna Care Centre and enjoyed great care, food and accommodation and a happy environment in what, for him, were difficult circumstances.
Staff provided excellent 24-hour nursing, personal care and kindness whilst the home coordinators and
entertainment team applied much energy and great effort to involve him a wide range of recreational and seasonal activities.
We held a wake for him at the home. The staff support for this was exceptional and it was exactly the occasion and closure he and the family wanted. It was a fitting tribute to him.
Recent improvements give the opportunity to improve on what are very high standards.
I cannot recommend this care centre more highly.

When visiting my sister, she always looks neat and tidy and the rooms are clean. The reception girls are always friendly and make you feel welcome, also the offer of a hot drink on a cold day is most welcome.

Although Mum's stay was brief, she was looked after to the highest standard. Her nurses and carers looked after her like a friend, and they always made you feel welcome and genuinely delighted to see Mum.
The level of care and thought for the entire family was exemplary.

I really enjoy visiting my dad here. The whole place is always clean and tidy. The bedrooms are nice and living with everything you could ask for.
My dad says he enjoys the food and is well looked after by the staff.
All in all, I'm very happy my dad is here!

I have worked and been trained within the care industry for over 30 years in various fields and senior positions before becoming a private carer in 2012. Recently one of my clients became a resident at Magna Care Centre, where he received palliative care.
I found the manager and all of the staff to
be welcoming, providing my client and his family with kindness and support. I found that the home provides person-centered care and offers choice and preference whilst preserving dignity. The staff take time to get to know their residents and work as a team, families are invited to be involved with activities that are designed for individual abilities and the food is wonderful. I visited the home daily for several weeks and felt very welcomed and included by all.
I would have no hesitation in highly recommending the Magna Care Centre to anyone in the future.

My husband was in Magna Care Centre for several weeks on a temporary basis.
The home had a lovely welcoming friendly feel, all the staff were brilliant. I felt my husband was safe and well cared for and staff went out of their way to make him feel at home.

On arrival, we were welcomed to a newly furnished and decorated ground floor room. I had doors out to a courtyard which made my stay extremely pleasant. The staff were very kind and attentive to all my needs. When I had visitors they were made comfortable and offered refreshments. I only hope that future
respite could be here.

This is a terrific care facility. It is set in wonderful grounds in a quiet countryside location. The quality of care and friendliness of the staff is really first rate. They also provide a wide range of activities for the residents and the place has a real community feel.
My mother has been exceptionally
well looked after for the last six weeks and we are grateful to all of the team.

Mum has recently been discharged from Magna Care Centre having spent nearly three months there.
At the time we really did not think Mum would survive having had such a bad experience in the hospital, she was not eating or drinking and really had lost the will to live. Thanks to all of the amazing staff,
Mum improved dramatically and with the help of the staff's encouragement started to eat and drink again. Mum is now back in her own flat but I know she does miss the staff at Magna and that just shows the impact they had on her.
The room was bright and airy and always kept clean, it overlooked the gardens, so you would quite often see the squirrels in the garden, which would keep her entertained.

My father chose to go into a care home in June 2022. He sadly died last night very peacefully. The care he received was second to none, and he spoke very fondly of the carers. What was so important to me, as a nurse myself, was to know and have faith that he would be cared for in the way I would have
cared for him. The very reason I was able to go home at times and rest was because I was never in any doubt that he was safe and loved by the people he relied on. He was given kindness in abundance and treated with respect. I know that the staff were very fond of my dad. I will be forever grateful to each and every one of those kind souls who cared for my father. It is a beautiful home, and Dad was able to die peacefully there as he wished for. My brother and I were able to spend several hours with him on the day he died, and we were also cared for and felt very valued. Thank you all so much for caring.

I really can't do justice to this care home in 200 words! To know that my dear aunt is being so well cared for by such wonderful staff, in such lovely surroundings, is such a weight off my mind. The fantastic activities and events have given her a new lease on life and new opportunities even at 93-shes
never done painting or baking before! We live several hours away but our monthly visits to her are a delight, always a warm welcome and a happy convivial atmosphere. Nothing is too much trouble. We feel so lucky she has a place here. Thank you.

My mother went into the Magna Care Centre for respite care after a fall and was extremely happy to be able to become a resident. The rooms are large and bright, with lovely views of the gardens. The staff are so friendly and caring - not just to the residents but their relatives as well.
Mum loves
the food, and the restaurant is decorated for any special occasion. She enjoys taking part in a variety of daily activities, including games, cooking, and visits from other organisations, which keep her busy and entertained.

My mum has been a resident in Magna for just over 2 years and although this review is for last month it also goes for the whole time she has lived there.
The care Mum receives is always of a high standard. The nurses and carers, although busy, never appear to rush her and spend time talking to her
and encouraging her to engage with them.
They also always have time to answer my questions and I have never felt as though I am being fobbed off.
There are quite a few staff who have worked at Magna since Mum arrived and I think this says something about the place when often care homes have such a high turnover of staff.
It takes a huge weight off my mind knowing I can be confident that Mum is in safe and kind hands
I have given them 4*, as I don't think things are quite perfect, but they are definitely very good.

With over 16 years at Magna, I lead a dedicated and compassionate team committed to delivering exceptional residential and nursing care. My background in intensive, elderly, and stroke care shapes the person?centred, dignified approach I bring to every aspect of our home.


Having progressed from Registered Nurse to Deputy Manager and now Home Manager, I have a deep understanding of our residents, their families, and the local community. I’m passionate about creating a warm, respectful environment where meaningful social connection enriches daily life. Making even one person’s day better is what motivates me.


Magna is a relaxed, home?from?home setting, and the welcoming atmosphere is a true reflection of the incredible team I’m proud to lead. Their kindness, commitment, and willingness to go the extra mile are at the heart of everything we do.


When I’m not wearing my manager’s hat, I’m a busy mum of three and can often be found out walking our little dog, Bob.
