Having moved my father to Elm Grove after a diagnosis of dementia, I have been so impressed with the care and dignity that Dad has been treated with. Staff have taken effort and thoughtfullness to find out what my Dad likes to eat, do or watch on TV. He has quickly settled in and, what is very important, has company throughout the day. His wishes are respected and I feel he is safe and cared for.

This review concerns a birthday party arranged for my wife who has been a resident for 2 1/2 years. Having booked a lounge to celebrate my wife's birthday I found that the efforts of all staff to ensure the success of the day were wonderful. Without any requests cakes, biscuits, coffee, tea were provided for all our guests. I was very impressed by the effort made on behalf of my wife to give her a happy day.

Our experience of Elm Grove is excellent. The staff cannot do enough for the residents and sometimes come in outside their working hours to give extra care and support when my father returned from the hospital. The Chestnut Lodge manager stayed on well beyond her finishing time to see my father safely return. My father has recently celebrated his 90th birthday. He was asked what he wanted for a special breakfast, and a member of staff brought in croissants and clotted cream on her day off. He was given a birthday balloon and made a special cake, and all the staff working on the day came and said happy birthday to him. We were also able to hold a party for the family in the front lounge of Elm Grove.
Thank you for your lovely feedback. We are happy to hear you find our home to be excellent. Our staff really strive to go above and beyond every day so it's lovely to hear that this has been appreciated, we will pass your kind comments on to the whole team. Thank you again for taking the time to leave us your review.
I can't say enough about the staff and the management of Elm Grove Care Home. Mum is very well taken care of and it's obvious they go over and above for her comfort, her well-being and ever changing daily requirements. With being across the Atlantic, we try to do a video call once a week, sometimes a challenge as Mum sleeps quite a bit and it's hard to coordinate a time, but the staff do their best. I am very pleased with the level of support and overall concern shown to my mum at the Elm Grove. My only concern would be the frequency of staff turnover. It's important that mum recognizes and is comfortable with consistent faces. Unfamiliar faces can cause trust issues and stress.
Thank you for your feedback. It is always nice to hear from family members feeling like their loved one is cared for and looked after. We are delighted to hear that our team have made a difference to your family's experience. We will discuss your feedback with the home's manager to help them continually improve their service.
Elm Grove is an excellent care home. It has a really nice atmosphere with a very friendly and professional staff, who genuinely seem to care. My mum is very well looked after.
Thank you very much for taking the time to leave your review. We are so pleased to hear how well your loved one has settled in with us. Providing exceptional care is at the heart of what we do. Please don't hesitate to reach out if there is anything else with which we can help.
I cannot thank Julie and her amazing team of staff enough. This has been a special month for us, with Johns 90th birthday. A lovely cake was brought to his room with staff all singing 'happy birthday'. Also he was able to request a 'special breakfast' where he got the idea for clotted cream to go with croissants, I'll never know, but what he wanted was what he got! Julie was then super helpful in facilitating a party for all the family, even coming in on her day off. Amazing memories for all of us. Thank you SO much.
We appreciate you sharing your experience with our home. It is so wonderful to hear that you and your loved one had an amazing time at the birthday party. We want our home to feel like a community, and it's wonderful to hear that you feel a part of it. We're committed to making every day as positive and comfortable as possible for your loved one.
My husband is being cared for extremely well. On two occasions the manager of his sector has giving up her own off duty time to make sure his needs a met. I cannot speak too highly of he and all the caring staff at his helm!
Thank you for your lovely review. We are pleased to hear how at ease you feel with your husband in our care. We are proud to have such dedicated staff who go above the line of duty to provide the utmost level of care to our residents.
I was particularly impressed when my husband developed a very high temperature. His temperature and blood pressure (very low) were carefully monitored, and when condition became worse, he was quickly rushed to hospital. After his condition was stabilised after 3 days, he returned to Elm Grove to a very warm and caring welcome - I cannot rate the staff too highly! They are brilliant!
It's always encouraging to read reviews like this. We are glad to have been able to help you and your loved one at such a difficult time. It's great to hear that your husband has stabilised and has settled back in with us. Your comments are a testament to the dedication of everyone in the home. Please don't hesitate to reach out if there's anything more we can do.
Thank you to each and everyone of you. Such a lovely caring home and I can feel at ease that mum is being cared for so well.

When visiting the home, everyone was very welcoming offered drinks and pointed in the right way. Grandads room was always clean and tidy, staff always checking in to see if he or us needed anything. Would always go above and beyond.

My father-in-law was definitely made to feel it was home from home, and that as a family we all very much appreciated the care, friendship and support he received was amazing, on our visits everyone was always cheerful and friendly.
We're so grateful that you've taken the time to share your thoughts. We take pride in creating a caring environment, and it's lovely to hear that reflected in your comments. We're committed to making every day as positive and comfortable as possible for your loved one.

Meet the Team (6)

Hi, I am Kim, the home manager at Elm Grove. I started my caring career at Elm Grove 18 years ago and subsequently transferred to Ashley House. In 2025, I came back to Elm Grove as home manager.
I am a very proud mum of one- Amelia, who is 6. I love going on holidays with my husband, Garrick, and Amelia. When that’s not possible, a cold G&T does the trick.

I'm Kelly, the senior activities co-ordinator at Elm Grove. I have worked here since 2022.
I love organising events and activities for our residents. I am always looking for new and exciting ways to bring smiles to our residents' faces. Seeing them smile brings me so much happiness.
I live in Cirencester with my husband, Bruce and 4 children, Ryan, Charlie, Harry and Ellie-May. We have 2 cats, Bonnie and DJ and a dog, Finley.
In my spare time, I love to do things with my family. I play darts and skittles for a family team. I also love doing crafts and making things.

I’m Ian, the chef manager at Elm Grove. I’ve worked for Bupa for just over 7 years now and am very passionate about “inclusivity not exclusivity”, so no one misses out regardless of their dietary needs.
I live just outside of Cirencester with my wife Sophie, daughter Felicity and cat Max. In my spare time, I enjoy family days out, gardening and Sudoku.

I'm Trudi, the head housekeeper at Elm Grove. I have worked here for 18 years.
I love interacting with the residents, and I'm always happy to have a little help from them.
I have a partner, Kev and a daughter, Jess. I live with Colin the dog, Pedro the cat and Fernando the royal python.
In my spare time, I enjoy playing darts and going to rock concerts. I'm also studying for a degree in psychology and counselling.

My name is Mukhtar Muhammad, and I am a senior carer at Elm Grove Care Home. It is here that I found my passion for care, and I truly feel privileged to work in a field where I can support our residents and their relatives while continuing to grow as a professional. I also feel very honoured to serve as a diversity and inclusivity champion, where I focus on fostering a positive and inclusive environment for our team. I have been fortunate to learn from, and continue to learn from, an exceptional nursing team and supportive colleagues. Beyond my care role, my passion for archaeology and history drives my curiosity about how past events shape the present. This connection inspires me to contribute to making the world a better place.

I'm Dan, the maintenance operative. I have been working at Elm Grove since 2023, and I love working with the team and making a difference for the residents. Since being with Bupa, I have had a big input on the building changes and remodelling of the home, as well as turning previously unused spaces into wonderful places for our residents to enjoy.
In my spare time, I like to spend time with my fiancée, Leanne and our two boys, Lucas and Arthur. I also play football for a local team and darts for my family team, whilst still finding time to attend my rock festivals.
